well for a 14 year old boy i'm guessing refurbished is not not going to matter. Can someone tell me what the differance is between a Ipod and the MP3 player????

It says "software not included". can someone tell me what this means? What do i need to buy as far as software for this to work???

crazymommy17801 I read on another site that it didn't need any software. I'm guessing it's plug and play. also mp3 is a type of audio file and ipod is a brand name of a music player. ipod plays mp3s' but I think if you used itunes it won't download to devices other than ipods (althought I'm not 100% on that).

Btw I've had one of these and they're really good except the hold button sometimes will get jammed or fall off with use so don't play with the hold button too much moving it back and forth.

I bought this for my DS for Christmas this year. It comes in a plain brown box with headphones and the unit each individually "packaged" in clear ziplock-type bags. The unit does say "refurbished" in small letters on the back, but it's not that noticeable. I tried it out and it works perfectly. It was a lot easier to load songs than my current mp3 player. I didn't need any special software. I wish it came with a lanyard or something for him to wear around his neck, but not a big deal. Well worth the $15 I paid w/free shipping a couple months ago. My only complaint was that it did take me quite a while to get it.

when is the next Woot Off??

Woot offs are once a month last one was the first part of Oct. I swear by woot.com and their sister woot location yahoo.shopping.com for awesome deals everyday. I also go to buy.com and overstock but for electronics and geek stuff I have been happy with woot.

For those of you who don't know what a 'woot off' is..

A woot off is a fast paced bargain site, where on a specific day they offer one item at a time until it sells out. Some items last mere seconds, others a while longer. It is very difficult to get an item from a woot off without a tracker and high speed internet. There are plenty of other threads about Woot, just do a search and pick one!

I wouldn't hold off on this purchase while waiting for one, because chances are, you won't get either.

Ok, first time I ordered from this site. I knew it was a refurb but was surprised that it came just loose in the box with just a plastic bag.

I thought it would be in some type of a smaller box, I guess, no instructions here either.
