Yeah i receviced the same thing I dont think they even have any gift certificate codes. I sent an email back to them stating that this was bad business and that I personally would not read the magazine so they could keep their 50% off. There was nothing in the original survey saying they only wanted 100. I completed this survey right after it was posted. I will be surprised if anyone gets a gift cert.

The survey was legit. They just didn't stop at the first 100.
Sound like a scam to me.

Judithra definately dont feel bad-I saw this postd at sd at 7:59am by the time I clicked on it there had already been 800+ views and I sure dont recall seeing a 100 only cut off disclaimer.

I got the same message. I did the survey right after you posted it. Who knows what happend. At least they sent an email instead of letting everyone think the GC was coming.

Well I responded to their email they sent out to us... I got this back....

After reading your response, I wanted to give you more details of what happened.



We are a new independent publishing company with a small circulation. We conduct a survey for each issue of our quarterly magazine to gather information from parents about that particular issue’s main topic to share with other parents. We needed no more than 100 respondents for the survey so we capped the maximum number of respondents that our survey service program will accept to 100. Between September 28th (the day the survey was created) and October 11th, we received 46 responses, which is the usual pace for our survey.



On Friday October 12th, I was shocked to find that more than 5,000 people responded to the survey – all in one day. I immediately closed the survey. It appears that our survey had been listed on websites unrelated to parenting which had a much larger audience than we were are used to or were expecting which may have caused the incredibly high pike in responses.



I wanted to notify all the respondents as soon as possible of the malfunction in our survey service. Since we could not honor the $5 Amazon.com e-giftcard to more than 5,000 respondents (we had planned for only 100), I wanted to offer something of value that we could manage since people did take the time to complete the survey even if the responses were not going to be used in the results. That is the only reason why we offered 50% off our subscription – this certainly was not a marketing tactic to get more subscribers – our reputation is more important to us than that, especially since we are a new small publishing company. We apologize and regret that we gave the wrong impression with our discount offer.



Again, I sincerely apologize for this confusion. I will be taking definite steps to prevent this from ever happening again.
