AMD chips are generally marketed under a "marketing" number not true ghz. They actually don't sell any chips that I know that run at 3.0 ghz only 2.6 ghz. However,
Depending on what you want to do and what applications you are running you can get AMD chips from under $100 to over $800 dollars
