I agree with you! It will be WM or BB....or both on the same day!

Without looking at last year, I'll guess Best Buy. Hoping for Wal-Mart, though.

I am too lazy to go searching through last years topics.

Brand new this year is the Black Friday @<hidden> GottaDeal.com Super Elite Premium Membership. For the low, low price of $99.99, you will get access to all the ads 10 minutes before everyone else! PayPal accepted!

(and the sad/scary thing is, I'm willing to bet there would be more than one person on here who would pay if we did offer such a thing, lol)

I said none of the above.

Last year I think it was Ace Hardware first. I don't think Wal-mart will be first, and honestly, I bet Circuit City is leaked before Best Buy.

Who wants to bet me that the moment we see the first ad come in it'll show up for auction on eBay? I remember people did that last year and made some small fortunes selling the leaked ads to poor saps who didn't know any better. And the ads they were selling even had the web site's 'stamp' on it mentioning where to get it for free.

That's just ... wrong.

Last year I think ACE was first, but who knows. I think a smart company would be reading this site and know what many of us want and then give us an ad that we could not resist no matter what the other companies have come up with. Personally my favorite ad was Sears last year, so I hope they do well again and come out first.

I voted for Wal-Mart.

Kind of hoping they try a different tactic and think they will get more customers just because their ad was "leaked".

I have to admit since I found this site I have shopped at stores I would not have gone to if I had not seen their leaked ad well in advance of Thanksgiving Day.

I agree with you, I'm saying Ace Hardware also!

I'll also echo Ace Hardware as first.

Purely speculation, but since Ace Hardware stores are independently-owned and operated (http://www.myace.com), I think the store owners need a little more time to get everything ready, therefore the ads have to go out to the stores sooner. Every other store that does a circular (BB, CC, W-M, Target, etc.) are all corporate-owned.

Again, this is purely speculation! http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileys/ok.gif

Based on the fact that Walmart's ad was almost the last to get leaked last year, and that the Ceo's was ticked about it, my guess is it's going to be even worse this year to see it. Even though I hope it is the 1st, and hopefully with better ads than the previous years, besides bathrobes and and non-competitive prices.

I voted Kmart, although after thinking on it some more, I'm curious if some big players won't secretly leak their ad early to see customer reactions to them with enough time to tweak the ad before the big day.

You're not paying for the ad, your paying for their time and trouble to download, copy, paste and take your money via ebay.;)

now just why is it Ace, I mean does no-one there care about secrecy, or do they just put their ad together before about anyone else? I know ACE is the first to break, but does anyone know why they are a perinial favorite to slip out first?

ummm...what are your waiting for, post them ******, starting with Best Buy. Hell, at least give us some spoilers! ... starting with Best Buy.

Last year I think Best Buy was the last one to post - It was the last one I was waiting for.

I am of the opinion that stors should leek out part of their ads just to get customers pumped up and excited about shopping at thier store. ON the other hand, after seeing Wal-marts ad last year I had no interest in waisting any of my pressious early bird hours in Wal-Mart. Each year Wal-Mart moves further down to the bottom of my list of places to go on BF.

Also love CompUSA - Last year Comp was a big dissappointment. Hopefully they will make up for it this year by having 512 desktop memory for 9.99

yogiyb
9-16-2007, 9:31 PM
Out of the majors, I think it will be Walmart.....Best Buy likes to see the anticipation build and won't leak too early.

KrystalMae1231
9-17-2007, 5:00 PM
Ace Hardware was the very first ad I seen last year. I would love for WM to post early or at least leak to the public like 2-3 weeks ahead. Ace was extremely early last year......about 2 weeks.

9-17-2007, 5:04 PM
So, who's gonna come in second? How 'bout the trifecta? :yup:

Without looking, I'd wildly guess it's gonna be Ace Hardware (obviously first), Staples (in second), and Radio Shack (finishing in third).

mccabefamily29
9-17-2007, 5:22 PM
I am hoping Walmart since that is where I usually go, but I don't think they will be first.

Brad
9-17-2007, 5:26 PM
Based on what I've seen in the past, I think there is a good chance that the first "big" ads will be the Sears and Kmart ads. Those seem to always come out early (especially Sears). Radio Shack also seems to come out early.

As for the really big stores, usually Wal-Mart is first, followed by Target. Best Buy / Circuit City / Staples seem to be some of the last to come out each year.

I am hoping Walmart since that is where I usually go, but I don't think they will be first.

If this year's Walmart BF ad is anything like their BF ad last year, they can keep it under wraps until Thanksgiving as far I'm concerned! That had to be the worst big-box BF ad I've ever seen, which probably explains why my Walmart was conspicuously empty on BF 2006 while the Best Buy, Circuit City, and Target right down the street were packed wall to wall!
