Reminds me I need to get the kids together and take the pic. I usually take the pic myself and have either Shutterfly or Wal-mart print the cards for me. Then I usually stamp the outside of the envelope with a festive holiday stamp and send them out.

yep i do. and i might get started on them early this year. ever since having our son, the 2nd child, i seem to get more and more behind on things. so i am trying to stay on top and even shipped out my niece's birthday present BEFORE her bday, lol.

nope. I don't put a lot of stock in cards... It means more to me if someone calls, or writes a note or letter, rather than a card.... so I try to treat others the way I would like to be treated :)

Yes, I send them out every year. I know the older members of my family and older family friends really appreciate getting them. I do write a little message in each one so that it just isn't a card with a signature. I will start working on them in October and hopefully have them in the mail December 1.

Yes..I usually always put a Christmas pic of the kids in with it. I don't buy many presents for people except my 3 boys, dh, my brother and niece and nephew.(and my 3 best friends) I feel like the cards let everyone know that we love them and are thinking about them.

I take pics of my dd's and have them printed at Walmart and put them in my cards. I buy them at the end of year sales so I get the ones I can't afford...lol

I have my boys' pics done for Christmas every year, so I do send cards...last year, I didn't send them out until a couple of days before Christmas, so I only sent them to family and close friends...every year I say I'm going to do it earlier, but I never seem to find the time!

I can't stand doing it though, just because it seems to take so long! I need to start doing the ones that are already made up, where I just stick them in an envelope and put the address on there!

Yes, I send cards to my family and close friends. I usually have pictures of the kids to send with it. My family members that live far away love to get the pictures of the kids to see how much they have grown.

Yeah, we do now. We didn't used to, but since we bought our house last year my wife insists on sending them out... at least to the people that send them to us first... :D

Yes. This year DH, the kids and I will take a picture of us in front of the tree and use that as our cards.(Which means we got to get our tree early- 1st week in Dec)

Yes, everybody I know gets a card with my kids' faces plastered on them. :tongue1: Last year, I took a picture of my oldest daughter (only her, cause the youngest one hadn't been born yet lol) pouting in front of the christmas tree and wrote on the cards "Dear Santa, I tried to be good." :p

Normally I do. I only sent out a few last year b/c I couldn't get my act together with an active toddler. I will do better this year, though.

Yes, last year I even took over my mothers tradition (she passed away last May) and did the traditional Christmas letter. But I kept the bragging to a minimum and it didn't come across as -- oohh our life is so perfect -- like some letters do. I sent it to friends I hadn't corresponded with for years and they loved being brought up to date on me and my kids! I just normally wait really late to send them out.

Cards were bought last year at 90% off ... gotta get moving on that letter!

I love it! It was always a way to say Merry Christmas to the ones you never see anymore. We have always done it ever since I was little. We would fight over who got to open and hang the ones that came to us, they make a nice decoration. I'm gonna try to get mine from VistaPrint this year, I cant write worth a and I think personalized are very nice looking. I always thought that only the rich ppl could have them, lol. I've never tried the picture thing cause I don't like my pic taken, but I might see how nice the kids would look in front of my colorful tree!!!:holiday07

It is so much fun to get the different cards from all over the country. We hang them on the back of the garage door- in the kitchen.

we hang ours on our front door which slowly becomes a beautiful holiday decoration-I always hate taking down the cards,the children even fight over who will hang the next card we get in the mail....ahhhh I love the holidays!
