Brad 4-20-2005, 1:07 PM AMEX Blue - http://www.ncsreporting.com/LinkTrack/Redirect.asp?LinkID=BAE10724 AMEX Blue Cash - http://www.ncsreporting.com/LinkTrack/Redirect.asp?LinkID=AEB10724 I don't know if there are any others, but I know these two let you pay over time. RossMAN 4-20-2005, 1:15 PM Brad beat me to it. Those are credit cards vs the traditional Amex charge cards which require balance in full every month. dionx 4-24-2005, 12:56 AM here is a link to the common American Express Cards the credit cards (that allow you to carry a balance) are every category except Rewards, Rewards and Access, and Premium Benefits. those exceptions are charge cards and are pay in full http://www66.americanexpress.com/cards/apply/jsp/fmac/i_know_which.jsp?csi=0/20/b/2/1134314824/113215344715/20/n&from=0 RossMAN 4-24-2005, 1:06 AM dionx - Your link doesn't work but thanks for your helpful post. That's mean, haha. dionx 4-29-2005, 2:37 AM dionx - Your link doesn't work but thanks for your helpful post. odd, it works for me in both IE and firefox shawneee 4-29-2005, 6:58 AM I have had the AMEX Blue for about 2 months now. With it, I get 9.9% fixed APR, pay over time, no annual fees, free membership rewards program. I like it. Rebirth 11-1-2005, 5:28 PM I signed up for the Blue card, just to get some free movie tickets. But I'm never gonna use the card. msomnipotent 11-3-2005, 11:46 AM I have Amex through Costco and I get a pretty decent percentage cash back. I usually earn enough cash back with the Costco card to pay for the membership fee, so the AMEX cash back is a nice bonus. Please just type in Costco American Express in a search engine. I can't post URL's yet on here. RossMAN 11-3-2005, 12:50 PM I have Amex through Costco and I get a pretty decent percentage cash back. Thanks for the welcome. I had to check in my wallet to see which one it was. It's the blue-green one. They even have the rebate amount you have earned printed on each statement. I used to have to go online or call to check with Discover. Rebirth 11-3-2005, 7:27 PM What's so great about American Express CCs? nat1jen 11-5-2005, 11:54 AM I also have the Am EX platinum card with Costco. I get a great annual rebate to use at Costco, and the card is free. The card allows you to earn a rebate on purchases made at all retailers. The rebate check, however, is to be used at Costco. That's no problem for me since Costco is my favorite store. Gloey 11-5-2005, 7:19 PM I have an American Express blue card and they give you points for purchases which I love! Of course I save mine for TRU! There is no annual fee. L075847 11-7-2005, 7:51 PM We love American Express! We have a no limit American Express and a Blue. We pay the no limit off each month. We just transfered all of our small cards onto the Blue @<hidden> 5.9%. It might not be 0% that some offer, but I have had the best customer service with American Express. We will likely pay the Blue off by February, so the % is minimal. We love the American Express Membership Rewards program! The no limit card is used for all bills that can be paid monthly with a credit card (cell phones, utilities, etc.). We also use it for business travel that we get reimbursed for. There is a fee to be in the Membership Rewards program. My job pays for half of the fee each year. Good luck!! WELUVKDS79 11-8-2005, 12:00 PM Ok, maybe I am a moron but, why would you get a credit card you have to pay in full each month???? PKGentry 11-26-2005, 5:59 AM Because you get to use their money for 30 days free. Plus, everything is neatly categorized for you and printed out so that you have a spending record. For free :-). psiu 11-26-2005, 3:30 PM Because you get to use their money for 30 days free. Plus, everything is neatly categorized for you and printed out so that you have a spending record. For free :-). *snorts out loud* :) orsorum 4-24-2006, 10:23 PM Ok, maybe I am a moron but, why would you get a credit card you have to pay in full each month???? Why wouldn't I? I use credit cards for five reasons: 1) liability protection 2) perks such as cash back 3) consolidating my spending to a single account 4) maximizing the interest I earn from savings and taking advantage of grace periods (can give me an additional $2 or $3 on a typical month's spending). 5) so I don't have to carry cash I never, EVER carry a balance! There is no compelling reason to allow myself to incur any interest charge except on major purchases like a house or a car. So, basically, I don't care if I have to pay a cc in full each month since I would never do otherwise. If your main reason for a credit card is to defer the true cost of your spending for significant amounts of time (beyond a 1-month lag), it seems to me that your spending habits need some honest and frank analysis. freesia39 4-24-2006, 10:56 PM Ok, maybe I am a moron but, why would you get a credit card you have to pay in full each month???? it's so easy to get into the danger zone when balances keep getting carried over... mugs 4-24-2006, 11:17 PM Ok, maybe I am a moron but, why would you get a credit card you have to pay in full each month???? I pay mine in full every month even though I don't have to... I use credit cards so I don't have to carry cash and because they give me cash back. To the OP: Check out Citi Dividend Amex: http://www.citibank.com/us/cards/cardserv/amex/divplat-amex.jsp There are some cards that will get you better cash back in some cases, but overall Citi Dividend cards are the best around when it comes to rewards. |
