This is a great company to do research for. They have a few locations country wide, but you have to call them to get in. If you wait for a return call, it won't happen. I am on their email list, so they email me when studies are available. Only drawback with this company is that you can only do one survey every 6 months. I always hold out for the greater than $100 jobs.......

Wow.....I have a 1995 or older vehicle but, I can't imagine talking about it for 2 hours,
why or how could it take so long??? Just curious about these studies since I have never done one. I would like to jump into the research studies, and if anyone could just tell me a little bit about the process, I would appreciate it!!!

I was NOT sure if this was a telephone interview, but I did go ahead and sign up for the automobile one.

The in person studies are pretty cool. You can't do them as often, once every 6-12 months. If you are honest about when you last did a focus group. You have to arrive about 15 mins early because they have you fill out paperwork that has to match your screener questoions. They usually have drinks, snacks, and sometimes food. Basically you go in with an interviewer and a small group. They tape the session using a two way mirror, and sometimes the representative from the company is watching. The ones I have participated in they showed us potential ads and got our feed back on if we would buy it or not. Occassionally they have you do activities, like we had to organize 30 brands of cigarettes according to what we thought was logical. Some of them have you try things. Time goes by quick because everyone is just chatting and giving their opinion. One of the marketing firms offered an early bird drawing, so if you show up when you are supposed to you get a chance to double your money. I went to a focus pointe focus group yesterday... they recruited too many people everyone showed up. I was bumped but they still paid me 75 dollars just for showing up, and because I didn't participate I still can in upcoming studies! I find most of them on craigslist, and there is a website findfocusgroups.com
You just send in your info like normal and if you fit the demograph they call and screen you set up an apppointment.

I was NOT sure if this was a telephone interview, but I did go ahead and sign up for the automobile one.


I think it is an in person study, it mentioned attending. My car is too old for me to go... and I am not quite a teacher yet... lol
