I've been looking at getting a GPS for a while. I'm always on the lookout for a deal, so I've been taking my time. I've narrowed it down to the Tom Tom 510 or One. I've been watching refurbished 510s on eBay sell for under $300. They come with a 1yr manufacturer's warrenty. The reviews I've seen for TomTom, mention trouble with the unit "failing" suddenly. Costco.com has the One for $279 new plus $8 shipping and tax. (My local store doesn't carry it). However, if I'm right, then you pretty much get a lifetime warrenty through Costco for the product. Circuit City has the one on sale for $249 with discount code, but their extended warranty for 3 yrs is $109! Not worth it.
Am I right in figuring out that Costco would take the product back for a refund in 3 years if it "fails" suddenly? Does anyone have experience in returning something with receipt that is over a year or two old?
Thanks for the help.
