I hope this thread stays active, as posters share their hints and clearance finds at Target. I've been Perimeter Perusing Target for about three years now, and find it helps me get through from one BF to the following year.

As many of you know, the Brick and Mortar store Target is known for their terrific clearance deals. You may have noticed that although the sticker price, including the reddish orange clearance stickers, says one price, that many times the items scan for less. It could be better for you if the item is priced higher and does scan less. Many shoppers do not realize this and pass the item by. Also, many times an item is not marked clearance in any way and I would suggest if you are interested in an item that you take it to the nearest scanner and check the price that comes up.

The standard clearance at Target works by items being marked down 15% or 30% initially. This price can last somewhere between two weeks to a month, depending on how well the item sells at this price. Then the item typically drops to 50%, again for two weeks to a month. Generally, the lowest an item will be marked down is 75% off, with a few exceptions. Items considered 'holiday' or 'seasonal' items have been known to go as low as 90% after the holiday, and you will find a few occasional display items or things found in the stockroom after inventory marked 80%-90% off. Almost always, the lowest price an item will go will usually end in $.x4 or $.x8, but not always.

A markdown schedule for the seasonal or holiday clearance is as follows:

Traditional Holiday clearance schedule
50% off day after holiday for three days
75% off fourth day after holiday for three days
90% off seventh day after holiday for 1-2 days.
Other than Chr-stmas this is the schedule used for holiday clearance, including Valentine's Day, Easter, Summerville, and Halloween, for at least the last two years

Also, Target is the only store I have found where many, although not all, of the cashiers seem to have the ability to bargain on a price when an item doesn't scan with one. There are times when an item will scan as 'clearance + tax'. Be happy in these situations instead of groaning. Sometimes the cashier can do a price over ride sort of thing to find the most recent lowest price, but sometimes if you say 'I'll take it for (whatever 75% off the marked retail price would be)' they'll just key that in. It's always worth a shot. Same thing applies for an item that scans 'NOF' (Not on file). This means the item is so old that it is completely out of the computer system. Again, I would try offering the 75% off the retail price, but if necessary a price can usually be looked up at the Guest Services Desk. However, if an item has gone 'salvage,' this may backfire on you. In this instance, Target marks the item back up to full retail value, before pulling it from the shelves and donating it to a charity, such as Goodwill or the Salvation Army for a tax write off. this is how Target claims to donate so much to charity.

The markdown teams in each store seems to keep to a standardized schedule, but there are stores that seem to have different ones. For those who do follow it the departmental mark down days are:

------- Mark Down Schedule -------
-Mon. -- Electronics, Kids Clothing and Stationary (Cards, GiftWrap, etc.)
-Tues. -- Domestics, Women's Clothing, Pets and Market (food items)
-Wed. -- Men's Clothing, Toys, Health and Beauty, Lawn & Garden items
-Thur. -- House Wares, Lingerie, Shoes, Sporting Goods, Movies, Music, Books, Decor and Luggage
-Fri. -- Auto, Cosmetics, Hardware, & Jewelry

This schedule says nothing about weekend mark downs, but I have seen items change in price between a Saturday morning perimeter perusal and one done on a Sunday afternoon. I still haven't found any rhyme or reason to what gets marked down on those days though. Another part of the fun.

Go to Target.com (http://www.target.com) and see if there are any updates about new Target openings.

Target does not have a lay-a-way, but diehard Perimeter Perusers have tried various methods of getting around this. Most are constantly debated on the various forums dedicated to this subject as far as being 'ethical' or not, I'll leave it for you to decide for yourself.

When an item goes 50% off, and there are several left, some posters have said they find a 'hiding' place to put the item and they go back to see if the item is still there several weeks later to scan and see if it dropped in price. Some common hiding places shared is:

In the middle of a round clothes rack, where all of the clothes hide the item.
About a third of the way off the floor of a stack of pillows.
Behind similar items, perhaps with newer packaging, on the proper shelf.

Sometimes, when items are getting scarce at 50% off, posters will buy them at that price and hold on to the receipt. If they find the item later at 75% or 90% off, they will buy the item again, remove any clearance stickers that show the lower price, and return the item at another time with the older, higher priced receipt, as long as it is within the 90 day return period.

Target initiated a new return policy in November of 2002 that says any 'seasonal' clearance items returned will be refunded at the current clearance price, even with a receipt! They updated the policy in April, 2003 to specify these items as Chr-stmas trees and decorations and Hallowe'en costumes and decorations. As far as I know, all other seasonal merchandise should be refunded at the price stated on the reciept.

Other web sites to visit to find listed bargains are:

Target UPC finds (http://www.schumanfamily.com/fatwallet/targetUPC.html)
Freebies and Bargains (http://wc1.worldcrossing.com/WebX?14@@.eeed32a)

I hope y'all find this information helpful, and would love to know of other Perimeter Perusers tricks that I may not have covered!

I just learned something new on a different forum devoted to Target. I've now that the Target website puts out coupons to be printed and used at their SuperTarget stores, but I didn't know that if a regular Target carried the item you could use that coupon, a coupon from a Target circular if one happens to be out, and a manufacturers coupon all at the same time on one item. So, you can stack all three coupons on one item at either a Super or regular Target.

Here an online site to print off SuperTarget coupons.

Super Target Coupons (http://sites.target.com/site/en/supertarget/supertarget_coupons1.html)
Some times Wow coupons (http://www.wow-coupons.com/printable-retail-coupons.htm) has target coupons to print off as well, but they seem to not have any at the moment.

Dora carriage things are still only 50% off here. :( I did get a strawberry shortcake beauty salon 75% off, 19.99 down to 4.xx. My major score was a 14 piece KitchenAid cultery set.

This is it (http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-1/qid=1175216847/ref=sr_1_1/601-5746219-5010527?ie=UTF8&asin=B000EHTZ7S)

I saw it two days ago, marked 30% off. I didn't bother to scan it because I really didn't think it'd be any lower. Today I walk by it and it's marked 75% off! Reg price $99.99 down to $24.98! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

Went to two Targets looking for this and came up empty! Oh how I wished all Targets followed the same mark down schedule!

crummy day at Target....the cashier I got looked over all of my coupons with her beady eyes and then refused to stack coupons!! So I missed out on $3.85 because she said I had to choose either the Target coupons or manufacturer's...not both! Arguing was futile.

you might try taking the coupons and receipt to customer service to see if they will allow you to apply them. just a thought...

Here is what I found

Digital Cameras: 15%
HP Photo Printer : 30% $119
26 HDTV ready: 30% $450
Pocket size 40 GB external HDD: 50% - $49.99

Didnot buy any, but eyeing the 40GB HDD if it goes to 75%

There were few more clearance marked items here and there.. Few of the Toys were marked 30%

I didn't find too much on clearance. Everything is sort of picked over. I did find 3 roll packs of Scotch tape for $1.04 and 16 bulb packs of 100 watt light bulbs for $2.24. I also bought two necklaces that were $99.99 each for $12.00 each. They were marked 75% off but rang up at $12.00. I paid a few cents less for both necklaces than one would have been with the 75% off discount. With Mother's Day coming up, I thought they would make good gifts.

Today I got 2-14 pound bags of Iams cat food for $4.98. But the big score was the Stanley pressure washer I got! It was orginally $119.99 and apparently cleared out a few months ago (this I discovered after coming home). It rang up Item Not Found at the scanner, so I asked a clearance lady to check it. She couldn't find a price. I asked another employee to scan it using the NOF function on his PDT, and he couldnt' find it. So, I went ahead to the register and told the lady about it. She said that it was probably salvaged, but I said there were 2 on the shelf, which was true, and that I hadn't seen them before that. They all know I am their almost daily. So, she asked her manager about it, and she said give it to her for $9.99!!!

Whoopee!

If anyone is in the Pasadena CA area, there is another one at the 2 story store (the old Robinson's May).

I usually think the same, but I got the BEST cashier this weekend! She was an older woman, looks like the type that would fight you on the coupons. NOPE! Instead, she would scan my coupons over and over to match the quantity she thought I had - even if I told her I thought I had less! I believe I was paid for buying several items!:cheesy:

Ooh! I often forget to check the coupons. I just looked for this one, and realized they have an M&Ms coupon that expires well after Easter. So, for those of you who will be stocking up on the after Easter deals, you might want to print this off.

Here in Pasadena they are "on sale" for $2.33 a dozen, not $.50. Which is actually about the regular supermarket price, and more than I pay at Smart & Final for 18 eggs.

Well, I went to a different store here in town and they DID have the $.50 eggs. This store is also not a SuperTarget (we don't have one within 100 miles), but it does have a larger food section. They were the Market Pantry Branded boxes and they were the Large not the Extra Large. Hope that helps.

Yes, I did. This could be the end of our coupon savings at Target. I wonder if they'll stop accepting the other discounts. For those of you that didn't get it, it has 21 items on it and says it can be used over and over again until each item has been purchased (sounds like only one time for each item) and expires in May. Hope this is just a bonus and they keep posting more on the web.

My Target doesn't even carry that brand of eggs!
I printed out a few egg coupons only to find they only sell one brand and I've never heard of.

Did get another 10pk of Bic pens for .32 minus the $1 coupon I had from Bic.
Also, two shirts, $4.24 and $1.98, and 2 great skirts for $5.24 each. I wanted matching suit blazer-type jackets but they were only marked down to $20! Hmmph! I went without.

There are TWO back page ads for this week. Call your store and ask them to look on the back page and tell you how much eggs are this week. One ad states 2/$1.00, the other ad states 10% off. If your store's ad shows 2/$1 -- that is what you will pay. My home delivered ad states 2/$1, but the first store I went to they were $1.59 and I asked to see the ad -- I couldn't believe this is the closest store to my house and it had the different ad. Second store had same ad as mine and I got the eggs free with the coupon.

I kinda doubt it. At least in the short term. The whole point is to get more people into the store and trying their store brands, and I think the clipless thing is probably only going to red card holders. I certainly didn't get one. Of course they may still be test marketing it in specific areas for now. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

In the clearance GE Reveal light bulbs, there is usually either a $1 off card or a $5.00 Target gift card. In the pack of 3, if you hold the package so you can see the 3 bulbs, then slightly squeeze the package so you can see between either 2 of the bulbs you can usually see either a white or red card. The white card is $1 off, the red card is a $5.00 Target gift card.:)

Yep the young guys are the best. Last week they had the Dress up dresses on sale for 14.99 Hubby spotted the wedding dress Ariel on the 14.99 peg,but rang up 24.99. He talked to a young man and he checked it out. I bought a bunch of 8 pk 40 watt Reveal ones. They are normally $4.50, so at 50% off they'd be $2.25. Not sure about the other sizes! I was too excited about finding the 65 watt (non-Reveal) floodlights on clearance in the b1g1f packs. We use a ton of those in this house, and normally they are at least $3.00 each.

The Reveal light bulbs at Target here in NC are 50% off. Prices varied depending on the size of the pack from 2.25 for an 8 pack to 3.98 for the indoor flood lights. I checked all of the packages and only one out of about 25 had the $5 gift card. Eggs were also on sale 50 cents per dozen.

One of my best Target days ever and a great cashier!!
I bought two GE Reveal pks at 3.74 each (they were the 2pk flood lights and they both had a $5 gift card in them) - plus i had 2 $1 off coupons and a $5 GC from another pk of GE bulbs that i'd bought the other day..
so...i had him ring those up - $7.58 - minus the 2 $1 coupons - $5.58 - minus $5 GC - paid $.58 plus tax OOP..

Then i let him scan the rest of my stuff while i opened the two light bulb pkgs and got out the GC's (2 at $5 each)

Here is what i bought....
4 canisters Purina Naturals cat food (had 4 free coupons for this cat food) - $3.29 each
2 8pk bottles of Diet Coke - on sale for $3 each - target coupons for $1 off of each so $2 each
1 6 pk Diet Dr. Pepper - on sale for $2.29 - target coupon for $1 off so $1.29
2 boxes of Strawberry Poptarts - on sale for $1.52 - 2 target coupons for $1 off each, so $.52 each
my total was $6.33 - minus 2 $5 GC and walked out with $2.79 on a gift card...

So total OOP for everything today was -$2.00 overage on the GC - WOOHOO!

Are the eggs on sale at regular or super target?

Both, but not all. I know that seems contradictory, but basically they are on sale for $.50 at some regular Targets. We don't have Supertargets here in the Los Angeles region, but I found them at one of our local stores. Two others did not have them. Basically, if they have the Market Pantry name on them and are the size Large (not extra large), then they are probably $.50. The other brand names are %0ff instead.

I FINALLY got some of the juice boxes I've been hearing about for months! Found 3 packages, all Fruit Punch, but for 69 cents, who cares?? The kids will drink 'em!

The Target I went to was still at 50% off for the FP3 player, and I bought one more (there was only one, unmarked, and put back on a peg with the FP Digital Cameras, so I'm sure someone was intentionally hiding it there...sorry!), since either my younger ds will be ready for one by Christmas, or I can give it to my nephew for Christmas. I haven't decided when I'm going to give my older ds his, but it probably won't be until Christmas, as he has PLENTY for Easter already (mostly thanks to this site, particularly this thread!):D

I'll have to check our local Target tomorrow to see if the FP3 players there went down any more, as they had a bunch...of course, if they did, I've probably already missed out on them...oh well, still not a bad price for $24.xx...

Finally got the dora carriage thing today for $4.98. Also found a juice pack, which I haven't found in quite a while! It was different looking and had chuck e cheese stuff on it. Also got colgate toothpaste value pack 50% off. It was 1.74 and I had two .75 off coupons, so I got it for .24. Definately going back to get more of those.

We only use energy efficient bulbs so it's killing me that everyone is getting them with the $5.00 off in them!

Saw, but did not buy, 5 of the MM apple juice packs in Alhambra CA. Just didn't need any more. I am loaded with juice for a while. ;)

Of the 5 stores I visited today (youngest DS finally back in school after several days sick, so I treated myself :cheesy: ) only one had marked the clearance toys to 75%. Fortunately that store had some Geotrax Track and a Playmobil set I wanted marked that low.

I found 2 pks of the bulbs today, but squished & squeezed & peered at every angle. I could not see any cards in the package and the packages appeared to be intact. It had a red ad on the outside talking about winning, so I am sure they were the right packages. I didn't buy them though, so maybe they were hidden in there somewhere. I did get 3! of the juice today though, apple.

And if you think that people opening the pkgs and stealing the cards is sick, you'd have really been irritated (as I was) when walking through Wal-Mart's diaper aisle, seeing a package of diapers open, and obviously one (or more) removed because someone wouldn't buy the package...what a life that child has to look forward to!

Oh my gosh. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Imagine finding that on clearance merchandise. I also went back today and looked for more bulbs. Every package had a nice neat slit in it. Many still had the $1 coupons still there. I thought maybe it was the store that was making sure it didn't give out a $100 card on clearance merchandise. I can't imagine someone just standing there slitting open every package. Kind of weird to me:razz: Even the dollar off was still a good deal when you applied it to the bulbs. Very cheap especially since my husband always yells at me for leaving lights on.

I also found 4 grape juice packs today and by looking at how so many others also found some, I'm wondering if this is maybe one of the days to watch??? I suppose there is probably no method to how they stock those juices on the shelf, but it sure would be nice to at least know if there is a particular day to watch for! I always take a peak down the juice aisle for them when I go. I would also like to find apple. I've only found grape and fruit punch. (Of course I shouldn't be picky. I'm just happy to find some and my kiddos certainly don't care!! The apple is always nicer than grape or fruit punch when you consider the stain factor though! LOL.)

When I was working at Sam's Club, (and probably Walmart since it is the same company) if somebody opened a pack of diapers or wipes, the rest of the package got tossed down the trash chute. So by somebody stealing one, it causes a big negative impact to the environment.

I found my $100. card in a 3way pack! :groovin:
What sucks is my girlfriends and I went an hour out of town this weekend just to go fondle lightbulbs. A last minute decision when they finally decided to listen to me but we realized there were only like 15 at our 2 local stores. We went to one store and not even a $5. card and hardly any bulbs left. Went to another store and there was a packed endcap and not even touched! We only made it through half of them with 3 of us quickly looking and found 4 $5. cards but my friend had a sure feeling there was a $100 card in there but they shut the lights off on us!!!!!!!!!!
The day before I had gone to a store in another town to look but with my 4 yr old Goddaughter, not expecting to find any. That was a bad idea! There was a whole untouched endcap but my Goddaughter decided to throw a fit and start crawling on the floor etc.. Then she started loudly saying why are you poking holes in there? and then she decided to grab some and start poking at the bulbs themselves. So I just had to go!!!!!!!

Not inside the individual box. Like a previous forum friend said.. turn the large part of the bulb toward you and squeeze it alittle to separate the two boxes so you can see the card that is slid in. There were several employees marking things down in the deodorant and soap department. Now to save up for the "after easter sale":giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Also, I see a lot of people talking about the clearance aisle. Is this something that every store has? I'm trying to remember but I can't seem to recall if mine has one... Maybe I'm missing out on a lot of good deals. Thanks for any information!

Pretty much every target has clearance "endcaps" at the end of one of the aisles in each department. Most clearance stuff will be there. Some stores also will put clearances from all different depts on a single aisle,,,,it varies where it is located. And also, sometimes you can find clearance items on the shelves with the 'non-clearance' items. But most things are on the back end caps around the perimeter of the store (hence, "Perimeter Perusers").

One thing I learned to look for is things "out of place" ... If an item, say an electronic dart board, is placed on a sporting goods or toy shelves and it is by itself and with no matching shelf tags, then scan it. Sometimes it was just put in the wrong place. But often, it is on clearance and really has no place. Most of these items do not have red clearance stickers.

Also, if you find an item you are interested in on the clearance aisle and it is marked just 15%-30% on the red tag, always scan it before overlooking it. Many times additional markdowns have been made but the sticker was just not changed.

The juices are random 10 pack Minute Maid juice boxes... you will find them on the shelf with all the other juices. They are not marked sale or clearance, but they ring up $.69. Someone once said they are actually not supposed to be sold as a pack, but that they are supposed to be sold individually in the Target food courts for .69 a BOX. But every once in a while you may find them on a shelf for re-sale as a whole pack of 10 boxes. I think with most folks it is just like a game to try to find these. BTW, the 10 pack orange juice is not included...it is usually fruit punch or apple juice that you can find.

As far as the coupon generator, I can't answer that since I have not used it.

Thanks FloridaSunshine.. I'll have to look. I have found some good deals along the perimeter of my Target but did not notice an aisle devoted to clearance. My store probably doesn't so I'll keep to the perimeter. Unfortunately I usually only have time to peruse during my lunch hour so kind of limited on time. However, they are building a new one about 5 minutes from my house. I hope its a SuperTarget. I don't think they have any of those in Ohio. I can't wait!!

I have absolutely no idea but I would print out the webpage. But why would it be online if only in stores and then take that and your coupon to the customer service desk and maybe even need to talk to a manager. Worth a try.... Sometimes things surprise you, but never know until you ask...

Some news on the light bulbs with gift cards. I kept noticing that several of them didn't seem to have been tampered with, nor did they have any cards in them. No white. No red. Well, I needed 60 watt bulbs, which are hard to see where the cards are anyway, and the pack I bought didn't appear to have any cards in it at all. When I opened it, the $1 coupon card was behind the front promo wrapper. So, in addition to being between the bulbs, you might find them down the front of the packs.

You can find the value of the gift card on the back top right corner. It says something like You have won a $X Target Gift Card. If it is worth more than $25, you apparently have to call to get it sent to you.

The 3pk of floodlights had a ton of them but they were $5.74 to buy, so not worth it for $5... watch, one of them were $100 or something! If I couldnt find the card easily, I put it back, I was not going to rip open a package for $5... But my store had an entire endcap to go through! I found about 5 on the 2pk packages, 5 on the 3pk bigger bulbs and 5 on the 8pk. Those were tricky to go through without ripping so I left a lot of those on the shelves.

Call me greedy but I am going to 2 more targets tomorrow to see what they have. Hey, I am buying the bulbs, if I find $5 in the process so be it.

And my store had a few that had holes in them with no cards, about 5 pks were ripped open.

It was funny, my friend and I were sitting on the floor squeezing light bulb boxes to see if we could find the gift cards. You should of seen the people looking at us like we were crazy. We found about 8 boxes with gift cards in them, but we left them for someone else. Didn't really need light bulbs anyway. If we would of found the $100 one, that would be a different story. We didn't have to rip any packs open, just stretch the plastic a little to see the amount.

While you are out looking for gift cards in the light packages - there is something else to look for with a nice coupon in the box.
Look for the large tube of Crest Pro Health Toothpaste 7.8 oz with the free full size Pro Health Oral Rinse sample. It is normally around $4.00 but is marked down to $1.74 - AND there is a $1.50 coupon inside the box making it only .24 cents. I picked up 10 boxes today for me, the wife and 2 kids. I went to customer service and parked my buggy so I wasn't in line, but so the lady at customer service could see me opening the boxes. I got out all the coupons, then walked up to customer service and paid for them, that way no-one could say I was doing anything dishonest. I got 10 large tubes of crest toothpaste and 10 bottles of Pro Health mouth rinse for a total of $2.40;)

I found 4 of the $5 ones at one store. You could see someone had squeezed most of them, but none were ripped. The ones I found were where the gift card was not in the expected place. I just kept peeking through the holes in the package until I found some. They were all in the 3pk of 40watt ones.

The other Target, every single package had been opened, gift cards were missing, etc. I found one $5 card there in a pack of the floodlights...it was again on the bottom of the box instead of in between the bulbs.

the same thing here, there were ones with a white card in there & the rest had holes ripped in them and no cards in them

You know, those people that steal the gift cards will pay in the end. They may have made some money now, but in the long run, they probably won't find the deals we do. We will save more money than they stole. I feel if you are a good and honest person you will be rewarded.

Thank you, I was looking at those today and now will go back tomorrow since we are going in to reserve a Pokemon game.......Got lightbulbs and had fun checking the packs for giftcards, we found 5 and bought a bunch of lightbulbs that we needed, we seem to go through alot of 40 watt ones and my mother uses the 3-way ones so essentially its like getting the bulbs for free since I bought more than the 5 packages with giftcards. Now to find cheap deodorant, we don't get coupns in our papers here.....

I went out tonight specifically to see if I could find some deals on the lightbulbs. I did not open a single one, I squeezed them like someone said and I found 15 of the $5 ones. May I ask your location? Or at least what state you're in?
There really aren't any more bulbs in Kalamazoo, MI and the very few, like 20, that are left have been picked through, looks like numerous times. I returned some tonight since I rebought them cheaper later and mine didn't have cards in them... So some that people think are stolen cards may be returns?

I looked for the light bulbs yesterday and found them on an end cap but do you know every box no matter what the watt had been opened. Now that is just sad..and who ever said we will get better deals is right. I did find a double packs of the Colgate toothpaste for $1.74 and I had 2 $1.50 coupon so I got 2 packs ( 4 tubes) with 2 coupons for a total of 48 cents. I am going to the other Target today since the Target coupon book came in the mail yesterday and a lot of the coupons in it are things that were on clearence yesterday.

Yes. Do you, too?

No, but I go there occasionally. I live outside of York Springs, way out in the country. My closest one is in Carlisle. The people there are so nice about all of my coupons. The one girl goes 'wow, do you print these off of the internet? I wish I had time for that' I went to the one by West Manchester Mall once and there was a guy in there who had a fit about my choxie coupons. I am scared to go back there now to use my coupons. I hope Hanover puts one in soon.

I have to give a big THANKS to this site!! I've had trouble keeping up the past week or so with posts, just too busy. I had bought the 8pack 75watt bulbs on clearance last week, but when I read the outside, I thought if you "won" a giftcard it would show up at the register (didn't read the small print on the back). So I just put them w/ the others in the basement. Well, after catching up here yesterday, went to the basement to check my bulbs. Turns out I won $100!!!! I never ever have that kind of luck! You can just imagine how ticked I would have been if I didn't open the package til after the expiration date of the card in June & lost out on that money!! So a big thanks to this site that made me go & check mine!!!!

Oh I would have loved to win $100 I just found one with a $5 GC in it. I sat there forever looking at pkgs...Yes some I did have to poke a small hole in to move the plastic card around BUT when I found a $5 one I bought the bulbs I didn't steal it like other people did that is just WRONG!

Kmagenta, I am in CT. I hadnt seen these on clearance until now at 50% off. And I perimeter peruse 1x a week at LEAST. I was so worried security was going to come over on me (after that person had that dream about the security lady following her!!) but I figured since I didnt cheat and poke holes and I did not steal the GC out (any that had a GC, I boguht) that I really wasnt doing anything wrong. I am surprised that more boxes werent opened with GC's taken out.. the one I went to last night isnt in the best town. But then again, ppl around here dont read these boards if they did... many more good deals I got would be gone! Now, I really wonder how many will be busted open in the next 2 Targets I hit! Both are in a mall....

The one at the Galleria Mall is a really nice store and they are helpful in there. They never give me any problems with coupons or anything else, and that's where the light bulb packages were still intact. lol It's closer to my house, so I go there most often. I think clearance items go faster there, though, and they seem to mark down first thing in the morning when I can't get there!

I have had several problems with the West Manchester store...I have bought at least 4 things there in boxes that were missing pieces or damaged when I got them home. Once, I bought a vacuum there only to discover it had been used and was filthy inside. When I took it back, they didn't want to refund me and accused me of being the one that used it. I finally got it straightened out though, but not before being super embarrassed about it.

I'm still glad we have 2 Targets in town though. It takes me forever to get to Hanover from where I live. I have found great stuff in their Kohl's though.

I live in Bergen County, NJ where stores are closed on Sunday. Does anyone know if Target will discount Easter items the Saturday before as they will be closed Easter Sunday?

All of the Targets around here are closed on Sunday just for it being a holiday.

I bought Easter Baskets last night, and they rang up at 15% off. There was no sign....I don't know if that was an advertised sale or the beginning of clearance. I know at Christmas, things were 15% off a few days before and then 30% off the day before.

I went last night to one near me and all the light bulb packages were ripped into and the white cards weere the only ones left oh well. I guess whoever stole them needed them more than me. I did score some really neat toddler meals kinda like lunchables but for the toddlers, they were on clearance for $2.58 ea I bought 5. I scored 6 dozen of the free eggs, 4 10 pks of the juice boxes FINALLY, 6 mini raviolis @ .59 ea, 6 pop tarts @ .53 ea, a bubble machine with 2 things of bubbles and 6 batteries included for $8.88 (babysitter said this was great deal so I bought her one). All in all good trip.

I found a $5 gift card in a package of light bulbs :) then 2 different metal storage racks for 75% off, I bought 2 of them a few months ago and they're very nice. Also, found the free eggs with 50 cent coupons and a package of thin steak that ended up at $0.16 after the target $2 coupon plus the $1.50 coupon on the package :)

Finally managed to find a pressure washer (29.98) ! I was so happy but now DH says he wanted a gas operated one - said electric one is too much trouble. So either he can take it back or learn to love it. He doesn't understand how hard it is to find that clearance stuff. He must think the shelves are full and I just strolled into one store and there it was - yeah right.

Found this one after searching 3 stores and burned 1/2 tank of gas!

I go through the same thing with my husband... the whole idea of buying something and THEN finding a need for it completely escapes him. To him, first you need to have a reason to buy something and THEN you go out and buy it and spend whatever it costs. This, of course, is the complete opposite of how I shop at Target. I spend most money on stuff I don't have an immediate need for. The need will come eventually!

I went to 2 more targets today. First one, out of 30 packages, about 10 were opened and no cards and I found 2 $5 cards. I also got the chef boyardee (they let me get the spaghetti/MB ones) for 47 cents. Then I hit the second target and the clearance was put into one row (well for home stuff) and there were about 20 pks of lightbulbs. Almost ALL of them were opened and coupons left on the shelf! I found 1 $5 GC. But I got hubby the $29.98 pressure washer! He loves it!

I had a good day at Target. Got 2 of the grape MM juice boxes. Was so happy I found them you thought I won the lottery. Got a body sculpting system by the Firm for 9.99 (75%). Supposedly they were marked for INDIVIDUAL sale in the Target food court restaurants, i.e. $.69 a box. But they are scanning at $.69 for the whole pack of 10 boxes. They supposedly are not supposed to be being put out on the juice shelves at all. Don't know whether that is true, not true, correct, or not correct----just repeating what i read here before.

Why wait until I need it and pay full price?? And I'll be done with Christmas shopping before Fall, and he thinks I'm nuts since Christmas is so far off. I think it's being a smart consumer. :)

Weird that the juice boxes are popping up again. It seems like there for a while, not many people were finding them.

In what department are the FP3 players? I have looked at two different Target stores and can't find a single one. I must be looking in the wrong place. I would really like to get one for my neice especially if I can find one for 75% off!

FP3 Players are in the TOYS. I have found them next to the Fisher Price Camera's in their "Regular spot", but marked down. And I have also seen them on an endcap.

I went to two different targets today - one super and one not - i snagged about 20 of those cloth cube drawers - the kind you put into bookcases and then they fold flat when you are not using them. They are normally 9.99 but were on clearance for 1.48! They will look soo great in my kiddos playroom on the bookshelves to hold their art supplies, toys, books, JUNK, etc..
Also found a GREAT comforter set in King - came with sheets, dust ruffle, pillow cases, comforter and shams - marked down to $74 from $149.99! - and it just so happened that we've been needing a new one for the last week - woohoo!

WHY are my fp3's still at reg. price???? It is driving me crazy!! I found a blue one at Walmart for $18 a while back but was really hoping for a pink one for my little girl and was going to give the blue one to my niece but I wanted the pink one for easter so I guess I am sol!! I just don't understand why they are still at full price!

I know eXACTLY how you feel. I waited forever for the disney video mixmax to get discounted. Then everyone started saying they go theirs for 30% then 50% and 75%. Mine were stillfull price. then they dropped to 50% forever and then was salvaged and either the employees bought them at 75% or they never put them to 75% so I never got any. If they are on an endcap then you will know they will prbably be clearancing them. Good luck!!!

niccci - I see you are from Oklahoma...me too! Which Target had the FP3 player at 75% off? The thing I really wanted was the Remote Start w/keyless entry but never did find even one at either the Norman SuperTarget or the regular Target in OKC. :(

:g_hello: :g_hello: hey neighbor......I go to the Super Target in Norman and the regular Target in OKC. They dont mark their things on the same schedule. But if I find a good buy at one I always check the other. I go the Super target in Norman everyday almost. I never saw the Remote start either. Keep checking Target in south Okc.. they had 4 fbplayers but they were still 34.99 so they will probably be marked down this next week. They had 1 pink and 3 blues. Good luck!!!

OK, thanks. That explanation makes sense. I still can't believe SOMEONE SOMEWHERE in Target land has NEVER caught this mistake! Oh well, it gives us GD'ers something to look for and talk about.:woot2:

Dora Doll was at 75% off - orig 9.99 bought at 2.49
HP printer at 50% now - 74.99
A lot of Ipod speakers were on sale but only 15 %
Gillette Shave gel on sale - 30%

There were lot of GE Reveal bulbs, few were not poked. did not check for the card. from the Ad, 500 people could win $100 gift card. How odd is to get one?

Checked out two Targets today to see if I could pick up more of the Reveal floodlights. At the first Target I found two packs that had been poked. In one pack a light was shattered and you could clearly see the $1 coupon. The other pack had a $5 gift card sticking out through a hole. At the second Target I caught someone in the middle of tampering with a 3 pk of lights; she was clearly stretching the plastic and trying to poke a hole in it. I hung around her a bit to see if she was trying to see what was inside or to take a gift card. She gave me a very guilty look and put the lights back on the shelf and when she thought I was gone she started pulling and poking at the plastic again! When I came around the other side of the end cap(I had spotted a deal on timers) she looked at me like a deer caught in headlights  , put the lights in her basket and made a beeline out of there!

Went to a couple of Targets today. Got some more lightbulbs - scored 2 $5 gift cards in the process. Most all of the packages were tampered with in some way - most were opened. I now have a very nice stockpile of lightbulbs which will make my hubby happy because that was always something I neglected in the past.

I found a very pretty hummingbird feeder for 50% off - so it was $14.98. I went ahead and bought it because I need a new one since my other got broken somehow this winter.

I bought an ION game system. It was originally $99 so at 75% off I paid $24.98. I also bought a dora soccer game to go with the system for $4.98. We don't have the Wii yet so I thought my kids would get up and moving with this game and would get a kick out of seeing themselves on TV as well.

I also got a pink FP3 player today for $12.49. This player was actually $34.98 exactly 13 days ago. I know because I was carrying around that player deciding what I wanted to do. Well I decided that 30% off was still too steep for me so I hid it. Yes I hid it. I placed it behind some inflatable pools. I figured it was still too early in the season for people to be picking through that isle or for the Target employees to have to clean up the shelves or restock and I was right, LOL. I walked up and took and gander and the player was in exactly the same spot. I had already been through the toy area and all of the remainder of the players were long gone - as were most of the other clearance toys at this store so I wasn't holding out much hope so that was a great surprise today.

Had a good day at Target - I finally found a pkg of the MM juice boxes, found 2 pkgs of lightbulbs with $5 giftcards (DH thought I was nuts trying to peek inside them, but when he saw the giftcards, he thought I was pretty smart!) and a few other clearenced items (spring loaded hook to hang brooms & mops for .98!).

I just found this link for more Target coupons that I didn't see posted anywhere on here. http://www.homemadesimple.com/en_US/branded/images/TargetCoupons_rev.pdf They are for $5 off when you purchase $20 in certain items. Many are bigger ticket items like Pampers, laundry soap and Claritin, so it wouldn't be hard to hit the $20 mark. I know I printed several since I will definitely need tons of diapers with a 4 month old! Hope this helps someone else out, too!

Yeah I haven't hid anything so far but I really did want one of these players and this one was pink which was a double bonus. I have constantly missed out because I just seem to be out of the loop on when things get marked 75%. I don't usually know until I read about it on here from one of the other KC gals and by the time they post and I can get out to the store I am usually sol, LOL. I just thought since this store seems to be a bit slower than others (the Oak Park store is the one I'm talking about), I might have a good chance of not having my items found.

The player is now sitting in my daughter's easter basket :) My son is getting a little league bat I got for $6.24 earlier and a Lightning McQueen book light which are also Target clearance deals :)

Went to 2 different Targets last night and found 2 packs of light bulbs that had 5.00 GC's in them (actually 3 but we didn't buy the one that was over 5.00, because that wasn't a great "deal", and we wouldn't have used the floodlights.) DH was very impressed that Target basically "paid" us to take the light bulbs.

Got 4 bags of M&Ms (both plain and peanut) for practically noting today. 50% off = 1.49 each. Used 4 of the .50 off Target coupons. THEN I had 2 $1 off any 2 bags of M&M manufacturer coupons. Making them pretty much free. WOW.

Bought 4 bags of Kotex maxi pads w/ wings = clearanced at 2.32 each. On the pack was an instant $1.50 off coupon = .82. THEN I had $2 off coupons for any size Kotex maxi pads. So I actually got money off on my other things. The cashier just scanned and the register accepted all coupons.

I bought 14 of the single serve Kelloggs cereal cups and general mills ones. .79-.97 each. I used the $1 off Kelloggs cereal (no size listed so I thought I'd try it) and the register accepted it. Used 10 of the Kelloggs cereal coupons from Target = FREE and then 2 .75 off General Mills cereal coupons = .22 Then I had a manufacturer coupon of buy 2 General Mills cereal and get $1 off. That equals ALL FREE plus some.

I also bought other items besides those so it worked out. All items came out t 2.47!!!! (Being the manufacturer coupon queen that I try to be I also used coupons for the other items. lol.)

Also, the fp3 players were still not marked down? They had the pink and the blue ones, but still at 59.99 I think.

Easter deals at 50%, They had kids no spill bubble things half off too, and small see and says with Dora and others on half.

Yes, I did. This could be the end of our coupon savings at Target. I wonder if they'll stop accepting the other discounts. For those of you that didn't get it, it has 21 items on it and says it can be used over and over again until each item has been purchased (sounds like only one time for each item) and expires in May. Hope this is just a bonus and they keep posting more on the web.

i wonder how you get this?
i also wonder how to get on the mailing list. i emailed corporate, and they said that there is no way to sign up for it. i am a traget visa holder, but i dont use it- trying to pay it off first. any ideas?

WEnt to target today and the dollar spot was all 50% off. THere were tons of batteries there and four packs of AA for 50 cents.

Also, on the perimeter there were lots of name brand flood lights, vanity bulbs, and lights for chandeliers. I have no idea why they were 50% off but they were. They were near the pet supplies.

Lots of pet stuff on sale on the end cap of the pet store.

Very little clearance in toys.

Easter stuff for 50% off was pretty nice. Some girls clothes in that area (jeans and T shirts for 2.50-5.00) CUte spring stuff but random sizing. Lots of little gifts perfect for birthday parties but not alot of anything. An idea of the misc stuff in bins that I saw, mathbox cars, kites, dora stuff, superman stuff, kid cell phones, etc. Mostly 2-3 dollars after discount. Oh, and lots of bonnie bell 4 packs of chapstick. Perfect for birthday party.

I did find lots of easter dog treats that were nice for 50% off.

The batteries alone were worth the trip. I talked to the cashier and she said they had tons more in back. They were panasonic brand. :)

This may have been posted here, but scanning over the last few pages, I don't see it. I think I've only seen it on the SD target thread.

There is a Target coupon for $1 off Quaker granola bars or bites on their site right now. Up by the registers, at a very few registers, they have bags of 7 mini granola bars for $.99, so they end up being free after the coupon. Make sure you have a filler so you total doesn't go below zero!! The dpci number is 071-20-0195. If your store has the newer price scanners with the keypad on it, you may want to type in the dpci number to see if there are more in back since most stores are probably sold out by now on the sales floor.

The regular Target by my house has been out of them by the registers (only 1 peg in the whole store) since the day the coupon came out. Turns out the had some in the back, so I was finally able to get some tonight! :g_dance:

I had seen it at the other Target when I was looking at light bulbs last week, and I let it go because I didn't feel like carrying it and possibly breaking the light bulbs. That thing is heavy! I also found a really nice tie rack, same brand as the storage locker for $2.24, 75% off.

I got a few things from the 50% off dollar spot, and a few new things they put out. Also, some 50% off Easter socks. Not much else caught my eye though. No juice...I haven't found any in 2 weeks now, and we are out of it :(

Went yesterday and saw the dollar spot items on clearance and of course, tons of Easter stuff and candy. They have so much, I'm sure it will go down to 75%, etc. I did buy a few bags of M-n-M's (didn't have my coupons - arggh), but still a great deal for $1.39.

Has anyone seen the Men's Degree deodorant on clearance in their stores and if so, what is it marked down to? They had just put a ton out on one of the endcaps and luckily, that's the brand DH uses. I picked up a few since my hands were full and it didn't scan at the register so the cashier just put in $1.00. Cooooool! I went back and got more for a total of 10 and the woman who was behind me in line went too and got some also. Got a different cashier and he took our word on the $1.00. I should have told him less! But since I had the receipt, at least I could back that up.

It is well worth it to buy these when they are .50 or .25 and use them for kids toys or things like remotes, I still have a bunch from last time they were .25

(Being the manufacturer coupon queen that I try to be I also used coupons for the other items. lol.)

Thxs for the heads up on the ceral cups.I went this morning and bought 25 of the Kelloggs and general mills.Used 25 .75 off plus 3 $1off 2 boxes.Got all the ceral for free.Great to put in lunch boxes.

I'm excited! We are headed to the FL panhandle today (where we moved from two years ago), and they now also have a SECOND Target, so I get to peruse in one of my old haunts, as well as a new one! woo-hoo! Will be gone for two weeks, so the deals I find won't be deals anymore once I get back, but just thought I'd share that I get to go exploring!!:D

can someone give me the link to all the expired coupons that we can use, thanks for the one for the kelloggs cereal. It will really come in handy.
Thank you in advance
I did finally score on the Dora with the carriage and horse today for 4.XX. I had a hard time looking since they were clearing out so much stuff today and had the isles packed with new merchandise they were putting out. I did find a Winnie the Pooh brag book that I got for 2.XX. I already put the new baby's sono pictures in it.
Does anyone know when they might be clearing out the baby section again? I didnt know I was pregnant the last time. I am hoping that the Classic Winnie the pooh set they have will clearence by the time I am due cause I am so in love with that set.

Does Target let you use their expired coupons?

Many have reported using expired coupons; however, some managers will refuse them.

So what new things are coming out in the dollar section? I love when they get new things. Ours was completely empty on Saturday.

This is what I can remember...there was a lot of new stuff. I saw some different things at both Targets I visited, but it looks like they are still resetting them.

Socks for kids and adults with characters on them. Card making kits, matching journals, matching note sets. Herb growing kit in a little pot. Strawberries and tomatoes, and some other things too. Fruit flavored lip gloss in really cute containers. Little organizer baskets, hard case document holder, little plastic storage cases. Desk organizers (pencil cups, desk accessory kit), headbands (really nice wide ones!), little make up bags. Baby accessories (sippy cups, tshirts, bibs) These had cherries, strawberries, etc on them. There were some child size hangers in really bright colors. Maybe 4 in a pack...I'm not sure. Stickers and some little Mom gifts.

There was more, but I just can't remember it all. I love love love when they get new stuff in!

You do need to purchase service for tivo. I think now you have a "contract" 1-3+ years.
Or you can prepay for 1-3 years.

I think the rebate is only for purchase with new subscription to the TIVO service, I may be wrong. But I have had a TIVO for 2 years now and I still LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! It is worth its fee just to be able to pause, rewind, and slo-mo LOST!

What would you say is the average yearly fee? If I could find the tivo at the price with the rebate I would consider it a good Christmas gift for three fo my sons. I would even pay the service if it is not too much.

I think TiVo service is $12-15 a month. We lucked out and got a life time subscription for $300 about a month before they stopped the offer. I would LOVE to get another one (for the bedroom) and get a life time subscription for it. TiVo is the greatest thing ever!!!!!

I hit pay dirt tonight at a brand new Target! I have never been here before. Its been opened about 2 months. And I had to go to fedex to drop off packages so I decided to swing by (its 1/2 mile away from fedex). A bunch of the 2pks had already been poked into or torn open. But not 3pk of the bigger bulbs. I got 3 $5 GC and a $100. I saw red so I figured it was a 4th $5 one but when I got to the car and opened all the packages, I couldnt believe my luck! Thank you to whoever poked and took all the other GC's AND coupons but left these packs at the bottom of the shelf!
I also got 10 cans of chef boyardee mini spaghetti and MB for 49 cents, 8 packs of the free Quaker granola bars (the ones at the checkout), 4 single serve of the cereal for free and they gave me 11 cents to take them because they were 89 cents each! I also got some more of the Pepsi jazz for free. I also got a bunch of easter candy to use as party favors for my grams 90th bday party.

Again, I cant believe that people just stole the GC's AND the coupons but they tore some of the packs completely open!

TiVo - The upc on my rec. is 008060100.....yes, we did sign up..prices are between $12.95 a month up to $17.95.....however, we looked into TiVo a few years ago and opted to pass....we didn't want to pay the nearly $300 for the unit and then the monthly costs as well.....but now that I found this deal.....we decided to try it!

I noticed that a few of you said you were using the newer energy efficient light bulbs...here is an article that you might want to read before changing over to them!!

http://www.bangordailynews.com/news/t/viewpoints.aspx?articleid=147836&zoneid=34

They contain mercury and have to be disposed of accordingly...and God forbid if you have one break in your house! This poor woman had to pay over $2000 in clean up costs to get the mercury removed from her home! I went through the house and threw them all out after reading this last month! I know this is off topic BUT wanted to spread the word on the 'great' new bulbs!

I went out Monday and got a ton of the easter clearance clothes for dds (shirts, skorts, gloves (dressy gloves as dd has a tea party coming up). Not much left other than easter baskets, candy, and stuffed animals as the three stores I went to yesterday. No MM juices but I have managed to find one here and there. No light bulbs-I was on vacation when these came out so missed out! :( Found one pack yesterday but it was ripped open! Did find two easter barbies back in the regular toy section so double check back there for those! Nothing else spectacular though!

I found a Timex watch for $11.xx (75%) off. Lots of maternity clothes for 75% off. I can't use them but they were mixed in the regular clothes. A Tiny Love baby mobile for $9.99 (75%) off. It was such a great deal but I couldn't think of a single person to buy it for.

I think this article makes the case for CFL bulbs. It didn't say that this woman paid $2000 to clean this up. That was a figure given to her by this environmental clean up company and the article described this sort of clean up as over the top and unnecessary. It also says that a ball point pen and a thermometer contain more mercury.
