I'm trying to set up a HomePNA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homepna) network for my parents and sister - they live in nearby houses and want to share an Internet connection. Wireless won't work, but they share a phoneline, so the HomePNA setup looks like it will work. From what I understand, I could get a USB HPNA adapter for my sister's computer which would plug into the phone line. At my parent's end, they'd have a HPNA to ethernet bridge, which would connect from the phone line to their ethernet router, letting my sister onto the network to share their DSL line.
The USB adapters are all over ebay, but I can't seem to find any HPNA ethernet bridge that I can actually buy. There are reviews, but it's like all the hardware just disappeared 5 or 6 years ago. Specifically, I'd like a HPNA 2.0 bridge (it gives 10mb/s vs the 1mb/s the 1.0 spec gives), or I see there's a new 3.0 spec which is even faster. But I can't seem to find ANYWHERE to actually buy the things! If froogle and ebay fail, where else can I find old or new hardware? Craigslist probably wouldn't be much help either since I'm in the midwest. Thanks for any help or pointers!
