momofthree 2-26-2007, 7:41 AM To not EXPECT a win on every game. Even though there are thousands of prizes given away, remember, there are twice as many playing the games. When you LEAST expect it, you may win;)
expect only half the things you win to ever show up
MandaJo111 2-26-2007, 10:50 AM Realize that if there are only 300 prizes and everyone on here is winning....there is an error with the contest and more than likely you won't get a prize.
MandaJo111 2-26-2007, 10:51 AM Just thought of another one...
If you are a winner on an IWG print out a screen shot. It may not always help, but it is better to have it just in case, some contests will allow it as proof. (Plus it is fun to show off...hubby was so happy to see the $1000 one :) )
amyers12345 2-26-2007, 10:58 AM how exactly do you print a screen shot?
MandaJo111 2-26-2007, 11:00 AM how exactly do you print a screen shot?
I just click on the print button on my toolbar. It has worked for me every time. On my IE7 toolbar it is set up as the 3rd button to the right (home, rss feeds, then the print button).
You could also go to file on the top right then click on print.
unless you have a mac.... then you can use the utility program Grab
Camkian 3-13-2007, 2:18 PM I have a question-Are those of you who are winning using mutiple email addresses? I don't have the time/energy to open more than one account, but I never win and am thinking there's gotta be more that people are doing to be so lucky.
lilac100 3-13-2007, 2:23 PM Nope only one address here. Sometimes hubby enters with his addy if it something he wants. He actually plays the Puff your Space game daily.

I would hate to see how many hours it would take to enter all the contest more than once a day. The only thing I know to tell you is be careful on entering multiple email addresses, some of the sweeps state one per household, or once daily per household. Some have said per IP address. Pay attention to the rules so you dont disqualify yourself and all the work you put into entering.
Tuffy4God 3-13-2007, 4:01 PM I have a question-Are those of you who are winning using mutiple email addresses? I don't have the time/energy to open more than one account, but I never win and am thinking there's gotta be more that people are doing to be so lucky.
I only use one email address and I have won plenty of times. Mostly small things, but I did win a $1000 gift certificate once. You just have to keep trying and enter them as often as you have time. Good luck!
amyers12345 3-13-2007, 4:56 PM Do you guys notice if you typically win at a certain time of day? It seems that I never win during daylight hours.
elena_398 3-13-2007, 6:37 PM I find I win the instant games towards late afternoon to evening. I rarely have won during the day.
Tuffy4God 3-13-2007, 7:24 PM Do you guys notice if you typically win at a certain time of day? It seems that I never win during daylight hours.
No. I usually play when my kids are napping (between 1 and 3:00 pm) and sometimes in the early evening after they go to bed.
amyers12345 4-2-2007, 11:56 AM This is more of a question, and I have tried posting it in the question thread but I think it keeps getting lost amidst all of these great IWG's.
How do you edit your information in AutoFill? I can't seem to figure that one out. I know it's probably very simple and I'll kick myself for not figuring it out.
TIA

Heres what I replied to on the questions thread, you probably didnt see it, it was several days after you posted it, because it got bumped.
If you are refering to google autofill all you have to do is click on setting on the google bar and then options. You will see the autofill so you can edit it. That is the only one I know about, hope that helps.
amyers12345 4-2-2007, 1:09 PM Thanks Cheryl!!! I must have missed it in the other thread.. sorry!
natcancoen 9-12-2007, 4:31 PM Have fun!
I'm new to the whole sweeps thing but this is the system i've devised and have found it to be a great time saver. Once you've found one of the sweeps you're set on entering every day till it is over, paste the link into notepad. The list will fill up quick and you won't have to scour the forums all day. Entering around fifty to sixty everyday only takes me about thirty minutes and has made me a big fan of ctrl+C and ctrl+v. When the sweeps is over it is as easy as highlighting the url and deleting it from the list.
Using firefox with multiple tabs also speeds things up.
I also added the add-on (redundant, I know), AutoFill Forms, where I only have to press alt+j, and for the most part I only have to add my birthday, gender, and/or apt number.
Any games that require codes just tab over after the url and enter it there so it is handy.
I still visit the forum about once a day that i'm playing to check for new sweeps and single entry.

happysunshine28 11-12-2007, 6:13 PM This isnt a tip on winning, but a tip on posting contest. Lately some contest havent been coming up in searches so I thought there might be a reason. If anyone post a re-post dont get discouraged if you searched and couldn't find it. Here is an example of why this may happen:
May not show up in search
"Christmas Wish List" Sweepstakes
IWG-Christmas Wish List Sweepstakes
Will Show Up Most the time
Christmas Wish List Sweepstakes
IWG - Christmas Wish List Sweepstakes
Sometimes even a simple 's at the end of a name like Womans Day's instead of Womans Day will not show up in searches.
I hope this helps.
inbruges 11-27-2007, 10:40 PM I am new to this whole sweepstakes thing. Just got started while looking for BF deals. So apologies if this has been discussed before. I do have a very handy program for filling out most of the sweepstakes forms. I use Roboform, it has every kind of information prestored, even stuff like age, male or female, etc and will fill them in the appropriate spaces with one click. I have the paid version, but I think the free version has some of those features. You can download it for free at download.com etc. It is a password filler, but has this handy form filler also. I think there are about 100 different fields you can prefill, and several different identities. I have one specifically for these sweepstakes that doesnt' use my cellphone number, and uses my spam email address etc.

Yeah, but doesn't it also download alot of spyware and stuff on your computer? I used to use gator and it did that alot. Google is safer, I think.

No I have absolutely no spyware etc. I check almost daily with Adaware and Spybot. I have the paid version but used to use the free version before I started doing these sweepstakes. I have about 60 contests I enter every day and it takes me less than 1 1/2 hrs.
I know Gator used to be really bad about this when I used that for just a short while back when it was popular.

elena_398 2-1-2008, 6:37 PM Quick questions on the IWGs....
If you click skip game or click the link that says see if you are winner. Does that usually mean you won't win or should you always play the game it has? Does this make sense? Some of the games I just don' t want to play so I click Can't see game.. See if Im a winner
Do you think this makes a difference, or no?
skip game does not seem to make a difference in wins - I am pretty sure EPrize blacklisted me, so I don't win no matter what I do.

I mostly click that especially when the game is slow loading. I have won after clicking that before.

Good to know (Im also sorry as I realized I put this in the tips thread and not the question forum. Oops. ). I've never won skipping the game so I thought maybe I should be playing them. I feel better now skipping. lol

ePrize Launches First System to Block Fraudulent Entries in Online Marketing Promotions
Fraudulent activities in online contests cost marketers millions
PLEASANT RIDGE, Mich., March 28 /PRNewswire/ -- ePrize, a global
interactive promotion agency, today launched a system to dramatically reduce
the mounting costs of fraudulent entries in online promotions. The platform,
called Promotion S.A.F.E.(TM), will thwart malicious or mischievous attempts
to enter a promotional sweepstakes, game, points-based rewards, loyalty
programs, sales incentive programs or other contests prior to and at the point
where consumers register.
According to CyberSource, in 2004, fraudulent online practices of all
types cost merchants $2.6 billion. Promotions are typically hit by online
scammers who register multiple participants from a single source, use
automated "bots" to create a flood of ineligible entries, and submit false
information, such as a bogus address. Promotion S.A.F.E. is a detailed
screening tactic that filters out individuals who attempt to enter a promotion
or sweepstakes unfairly, blocking "rule-breakers" to ensure promotions are
fair for all consumers who participate. These practices can dramatically clog
or even disable online promotions costing companies hundreds of thousands of
dollars.
"The losses to business from fraudulent promotion entries are as
outrageous as the practices themselves," said ePrize Founder and CEO Josh
Linkner. "Across the Internet, as much as five percent of promotion prizes
are awarded to ineligible or otherwise fraudulent entries, and tremendous
resources often are spent on identifying, communicating with and replacing
disqualified participants. These losses are growing at an intolerable rate.
The time is now for ePrize to take the lead in eliminating these online
scammers from the game."
ePrize spent more than a year developing Promotion S.A.F.E. to ensure each
participant in an online interactive promotion has the same opportunity to win
in a fair and entertaining competition. Promotion S.A.F.E. employs five steps
before and during the registration process to detect and block fraudulent
participants:
1) Address Verification - This process verifies mailing addresses against
the U.S. Postal Service database.
2) Image Security - This tool asks the entrant to verify text from a
random image on the screen to advance further within the promotion, a
technique that blocks bots from submitting entries.
3) IP Blocking - A Web page informs the player that his or her IP address
has been associated with previous fraudulent activities and shuts the player
completely out of any ePrize promotion.
4) De-duper - People who try to enter multiple individuals under the same
address can be filtered out if some of the information they provide matches
that of another registered profile.
5) Blacklist - This global master list compiled by ePrize records previous
fraudulent offenders and prevents them from entering future promotions for any
ePrize clients.
"Promotion S.A.F.E. is going to save our clients time, money and
reputation," said Linkner. "In the end, businesses will collect much cleaner
data from each Internet promotion and participants will enjoy a fair
competition. ePrize's online games and contests are about winning -- prizes
for the consumer and new customers for the merchant -- and Promotion S.A.F.E.
offers a win-win opportunity for everyone."
ePrize has skyrocketed to become the industry leader in interactive
promotions. Signing nearly 80 major brand accounts in 2004, the company
enjoyed a dramatic growth in sales, which rose from $9 million to $18.5
million for the year.
About ePrize
As the industry leader of interactive promotions, ePrize has developed and
managed more than 1,200 campaigns in 36 countries for the world's most
recognized brands. ePrize has successfully developed and managed promotions
for major advertisers including for Coca-Cola, American Express, Harrah's,
General Motors, The Home Depot, Yahoo!, The Gap, Dell, Ford, Northwest
Airlines, Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Warner Brothers, and palmOne. With
offices in Detroit, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and London, ePrize
conceives and implements powerfully effective programs which create
relationships between consumers and brands and motivate specific consumer
behavior. ePrize promotions create actionable customer profiles that turn
data into dollars for clients and their agencies. For more information, visit

Kara1204 2-24-2008, 6:34 PM expect only half the things you win to ever show up

I usually do not play the game. I won my camcorder from Hebrew International after skipping the game.

you are luckier than I.
luckynumber8 3-19-2008, 6:25 PM I'm a newb so forgive me if my questions & suggestions are old hat:rolleyes: but how about the winners of IWG's post the times that they played so we have an idea of when the "hot" times are. These sweeps are generally set with computer generated "times" are they not? Is that considered illegal?? to post the times I mean.
I googled & read something about 5 mins to the hour being a popular IWG time slot but that hasn't worked for me yet.
Anyway..if I win an IWG I will be sure to note down the time & post on here for you all to see.:)
I've only been going at it since the beginning of the month but I still haven't won the cream cheese basket:mad:...:)

maybe - but if you plan on half you are rarely disappointed and often pleasantly surprised.
MzSasy 5-18-2008, 12:18 AM Ok I have a helpful tool that Happy gave me to try. Before using it I downloaded it and saved it to my desktop to Virus Scan it first. It came back no viruses, after I installed it & used it I ran SpyBot (a spyware detector) and it ran clean. So I confirm this tool as virus/scum free.
Anyway, its called Sweep! I downloaded it from here...http://www.wavget.com/sweep.html It can be a pain to set up at first but it almost works like Gotta deals site.
You create a new entry, Put in the URL of the sweep site or IWG etc...then the end date, how often your allowed to play (monthly, daily, hourly etc) and then you can even enter notes (I put in the possible prizes) Also you can name each sweeps whatever you want. Then you click done. This will track how many entries you have in the sweepstakes, IWG and when your last play was. When you reopen this tool the next day it will alert you with the games you need to play/haven't played for the day. You just click the "goto" button and it opens the site to the sweeps that you entered! Once you hit Done it checkmarks it as played and updates your last play info. Its a fun tool but as I said can be a pain to set up! :) Try it out if you want and let me know your take on it.
Marian2007 6-27-2008, 2:56 PM I have a question-Are those of you who are winning using mutiple email addresses? I don't have the time/energy to open more than one account, but I never win and am thinking there's gotta be more that people are doing to be so lucky.
not for the same contest, because in case you win twice, you would have to reveal you were "multiplying",unless you used someone else's address.
happysunshine28 6-27-2008, 3:24 PM not for the same contest, because in case you win twice, you would have to reveal you were "multiplying",unless you used someone else's address.
I must have missed the original question that you answered to, I cant find it. But I have read it over and over and I hope I am wrong but it seems to be implying if your winning your cheating. The way I look at it is if you cant win using one account why would you win using two, it is all about luck. The only advise I have is if you arent winning anything and you are doing it at the same time everyday, find a different time slot to do it, winning times are hard to come by, last year it seemed I had a time I could atleast win one a day (well not really that often but close) that time of day became unfruitful for me so I have been searching for another time, it is hit and miss. Plus it seems alot more people are doing sweeps now so winning isnt as easy as it was. It may seem there are some people who win alot more than others that doest mean they are entering multiple times it means they are having a stream of good luck or they have more time to enter more sweeps, there are many reasons why people win there are many reason why people dont win, but all in all it is purely luck.

PCH Warns Consumers of Bogus ‘Oprah’ Mailings
Publishers Clearing House alerted consumers last week about fraudulent sweepstakes mailings that claim to be from PCH, Oprah Winfrey and O Magazine.
The mailings include what appears to be a real check, but the check is bogus and consumers are asked to wire money back to a false address.
Some consumers have been told that the check is an advance on a sweepstakes they have won and that once they wire some money and cash the check they can expect their millions to arrive in the mail.
Suspicious of the mailing, the daughter of one woman who received the mailing set up a separate checking account and deposited the check to see if it was in fact legitimate. It was not, she said.
"We are angry about the reports of scam artists using our good name and reputation along with that of O Magazine and Oprah Winfrey in an attempt to deceive consumers" Chris Irving, the assistant vice president for legal and consumer affairs at Publishers Clearing House, said in a statement.
Consumers who received the mailings were encouraged to contact law enforcement or consumer protection offices.
Berizzel88 9-1-2008, 4:53 AM I always enter IWG at like 2/5 AM after work... Havent been the luckiest.. I win more often during day hours.
beenthere1that 9-23-2008, 9:14 PM I almost always click "can't see game" or "click here to skip game" and yes, I still win that way. It is much quicker! The game is pre-programmed to have a winner at a set time, regardless of whether you actually play. I only play the ones I enjoy or if I have no option to skip the game.
Lady Aryn 9-30-2008, 10:57 AM Ok, dumb ? time. Where the dickens do you lot find all these IWG sweeps/games/etc? Some were saying they enter 60+ a day? And have actually won? I have been entering 20+ contests/sweeps now for over 5 months, at all times of the day/night, and have NOT won a single thing (yes story of my life, accepted & dealt with). But am just curious. Would appreciate any info..

You just got to have persistance, right now winning is pretty slow for me, but I still try to do them, I enter just about every sweeps listed in the contest forum just about everyday. I would say roughly 500 contest a day, thats IWG and daily entry entry ones.
elena_398 9-30-2008, 6:46 PM I entered 75% of them personally. I can't really go on a trip with my kids school and husbands work so I don't really enter the trip ones (just once or so ).

I agree persistance and patience pays off, not to mention the realization that you are not gonna win everything you enter.

Exactly, I just cant get that logic in my head, I want to win everything, lol.
elena_398 10-24-2008, 10:56 AM I just want to win something "BIG" this year. I won the 2 PSPs and games last year and so that was my biggest (besides the $100 from Kraft). Nada this year. Just tons of small items.

I would completely agree with those being good winning times about 1 to 2 years ago. Too many people get up early to enter at those times now, but yes they were very lucrative at one point.
article is a very good find though, we can always use articles on how to win. Thankyou
happysunshine28 1-5-2009, 8:55 PM I just wanted to remind everyone to set their display options to "beginning" so all the sweeps are showing up. If you arent seeing 13 pages (as of today) then it isnt set right.

happysunshine28 1-7-2009, 8:20 PM Read the rules
Following entry guidelines is a must- you might be disqualified if do not follow them and that's a lot of wasted time entering.
If a spouse/roommate/child, etc is also entering make sure they know to follow the rules also, a major mistake is one per household whether it's to enter or amount of prizes that can be won.

cotejb 1-16-2009, 11:55 AM I read the article and I find it to be helpful.

I don't think so because they usually use a random generator to pick the winning times or if its a sweep at the end. Unless it is a requirement to enter the contest it should not affect your changes of winning.
I always put no too b/c my daily email inbox would be way too large if I didn't.

shoppingaddict 1-22-2009, 9:24 PM Recently I've seen several contests that allow entries through the internet AND through regular mail (envelope with postage). Do you guys think there is an advantage entering one way over another? And I wonder what they do with the mail-in entries. Does someone manually input them into the computer? I guess what I want to know is how the heck do they combine both forms of entry? Anybody out there know?

I dont really see an advantage either way. I have no idea how they would handle mail in entries, and if you decide to mail entries in make sure that they dont say something like: one entry per day regardless of method.

sierramuse8 7-12-2009, 2:12 PM Just a suggestion: how about putting one time only contests in their own thread.
BellaMia 7-12-2009, 3:14 PM I already mentioned that in the past and everyone decided to keep it the way it is. I figured it would be easier to just go to one thread like the sweeps that are expiring but no one liked the idea I guess.
What I do to sift through all of the 1X sweeps is go down to the bottom of the screen where it says "Display Options" and in the "Prefix" drop down menu I click "Daily" and submit.
It brings up just the daily and some IWG sweeps so I don't have to go through pages and pages of 1X only sweeps that I've already entered.
Hope that helps.
sierramuse8 7-13-2009, 11:51 AM Thanks for that. It should make it easier.
pumpkin456 10-28-2009, 9:41 AM I know that there is a way to fill out all of these forms quickly for the sweepstakes and such. Can any one tell me how to to this?? Please move this if it is in the wrong area.
cashandra 10-28-2009, 9:43 AM www.roboform.com
