Advise needed. I left my government job with over 8 years toward retirement but won't be eligible for pension payments until 2029. Payments will be about $250/month after that time. I have over $18,000 in the account. Should I open an IRA and do a trustee to trustee transfer to retain control or should I just leave the money in the pension fund? I can't find any good comparison calculators out there. I don't want to take a distribution-don't want to take the tax hit. Any ideas?
