GENERAL MEDICAL STUDIES
• Flu Season Is Here! If You Develop Flu Symptoms, Call About A Research Study!
When flu symptoms strike you, call Research Across America within 2 days of your symptoms to see if you qualify for an investigational flu treatment. Flu symptoms may include: Headache, Fever, Sore Throat, Cough, Nasal Symptoms, Fatigue. The study entails 6 visits over 14 days and compensates up to $425.00 for time and travel for those who qualify. Participants receive one of two different injectable doses or placebo. • Male Weight Loss Study - Research Across America is enrolling males 18 to 60 years of age who need to lose 100 pounds or more in a medical research study of an investigational weight loss medication. Those who qualify receive investigational weight loss medication or placebo and up to $600.00 compensation for time and travel. To qualify, men must have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 to 55. • ACUTE MUSCLE SPASMS- This study evaluates an investigational combination of medications for moderate to severe muscle spasms or pain of the lower back. To qualify, your back pain symptoms must have occurred in the last 3 days and you must be able to make 3 office visits over 7 days. Qualified participants may receive compensation up to $300.00 for time and travel. There is no cost to participate. This research study is enrolling at 2 DFW locations: Plano and Dallas. • Acne Research Study- This 12 week study evaluates 2 topical products for facial acne. To qualify, you must be 12 to 30 years of age with mild to moderate acne (20 to 75 pimples on the face). • Cold Sores/Fever Blisters - If you are age 18 to 80 and get frequent cold sores on or around the mouth, you may be eligible for a medical research study of an investigational cream. • High Blood Pressure- This research study is for adults 18 and over who have high blood pressure. This study evaluates an investigational medicine for high blood pressure. Those eligible will receive study-related medical exams and study medicine at no cost, as well as compensation for time and travel.

WOMEN’S STUDIES
• Birth Control Study – This research study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of an investigational low dose birth control pill for 12 months, in women ages 18 to 45. Qualified participants receive lab work and study related exams at no cost, as well as compensation up to $450.00 for 9 office visits. The study provides the investigational birth control pills to all participants at no cost, as this is an open-label study with no placebo (inactive substance). • Constipation-Predominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome (C-IBS) - If you suffer from abdominal pain and discomfort and altered bowel habits, you may qualify to participate in a 16 week clinical research study of an investigational medication for this condition. You must be a woman 18-65 years of age and diagnosed with C-IBS. Study medication, study-related medical care and financial compensation are all provided for qualified participants.
• PMDD – Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder - Some women experience PMS symptoms on a more severe level, in which they become extremely distressed and experience impaired social and occupational functioning before that time of the month. Symptoms include depression, fatigue, irritability, sleeplessness, inability to focus and anger. If you are a women age 18 to 49 experiencing PMDD symptoms, you might qualify for this 8 month study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication. PSYCHIATRIC STUDIES
• Does Anxiety Overpower your life? – Research Across America is enrolling volunteers ages 18 to 65 with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) in a research study to try an investigational medication. Those who suffer from excessive feelings of worry, irritability, problems concentrating and sleeping, you may qualify for this research study. • BIPOLAR I DISORDER - Manic/Mixed Episodes - Mood Swings? Opposite Extremes? Bipolar Disorder Type I can make you feel at such opposite extremes. It can cause poor judgment, spending sprees, and mood changes. If you have a history of Bipolar Type I, you may be eligible for a 12-week research study of an investigational medication for manic or mixed episodes associated with bipolar type I disorder.
• At least 18 years old (women must not be pregnant)
• Diagnosis of bipolar I disorder based on clinical assessment

ADDICTION STUDIES
• OPIATE ADDICTION- If you or a loved one is struggling with opiate addiction to drugs like heroine, oxycodone or morphine, consider an 8 day inpatient, clinical research trial of an investigational medication for withdrawal symptoms. Qualified participants must be at least 18 years of age and have a current dependency to any opiate. Study medication and 8 day hospital stay are provided to qualified participants at no cost, as well as compensation up to $200.00 for time and travel.

GENERAL MEDICAL STUDIES
• Insomnia Research Study– Do you have trouble sleeping? A research study is evaluating an investigational medication at 3 different doses compared to placebo to see how it affects the total sleep time. If you qualify for this study, you will come to the study center 4 times over 2 weeks and will receive a follow-up telephone call 30 days after the last dose of study drug, for up to a total of 59 days. The total amount of compensation for the study is up to $200.00 if you qualify. This study is being conducted in Plano and in Dallas. For information, call 972-4-DOCTOR.
• Sleep Maintenance Research Study– Do you often wake up in the night and find it hard to get back to sleep? A research study for those 18 to 64 years of age is evaluating a low dose investigational Ambien ? lozenge that is partially absorbed under the tongue to see if it helps you go back to sleep. Unlike other approved sleeping aids, this lozenge can be taken during the night at the time of the awakening if there are still 4 hours left in bed. Those who qualify have a 50/50 chance of receiving the active lozenge or placebo. If you are selected for this study, you will be required to make 4 study visits over a 6 week period. • Rosacea Research Study- Do you have blotchy, red skin across your face? If you have moderate Rosacea and are at least 18 years of age, you may qualify for a research study evaluating an investigational topical gel. • GOUT RESEARCH STUDY: PAIN, SWELLING OR TENDERNESS IN THE JOINTS
Do you or someone you know have pain, swelling or tenderness in your joints? A research study is enrolling now to compare an approved gout drug and an investigational drug to determine their ability to lower uric acid levels in the body (high uric acid can cause gout). Those 18 to 85 years old who have a history of gout or are currently experiencing gout symptoms may qualify to participate. • Sinusitis - Do you still have chronic sinusitis after sinus surgery? If so, you may qualify to participate in a clinical research study of an investigational inhaled medication. WOMEN’S STUDIES

• Birth Control Study – This open-label research study will evaluate safety and efficacy of an investigational combination birth control pill that contains Norethindrone and Ethinyl Estradiol. • Methamphetamine Addiction Recovery Research– This 30-day research study evaluates the effectiveness of an investigational procedure for treating methamphetamine dependence. The procedure incorporates a combination of medications that are approved for other indications. The study will evaluate its effectiveness in easing cravings and restoring memory, learning and concentration in early recovery from addiction to methamphetamine. You must be 18 to 55 years of age and ready to quit using methamphetamine. Qualified participants receive therapy, investigational procedure or placebo (inactive substance), neuropsychological tests, and study-related labs at no cost. Participation is private. * Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema/Psoriasis) STUDY- If you experience a chronic recurring, itchy, inflamed rash with lesions, you may qualify for a research study of an investigational ointment for a condition called atopic dermatitis. This skin condition can also be diagnosed as eczema or psoriasis. Qualified participants must be at least 18 years of age with affected areas over 10% of the skin surface. Lotion Study Enrolling Now! - This research study for women is 4 weeks long with 3 office visits and will collect feedback regarding performance attributes of a facial moisturizing product.
