View Full Version : I'm Researching Your Research Requests!
For those of you who were not here when this forum first started, you have gotten a taste, in the last couple of days, of the posting streaks I go on. Well, now I am asking you to help me, to help you. I post what I feel looks good, interesting, fun, relevant, etc. What I think and feel and what you think and feel may not be the same thing. I already know what areas of the country to search because of my sticky at the top of the forum.
What I don't know is what types of research projects and surveys You would Like. You can tell from all my other posts the types of things are out there. So please, tell me. what kinds of projects would you like me to keep my eyes peeled for. What you want may already be out there but I have passed on posting it because it doesn't register on my radar.
What topics are of interest to you? What projects have you done already and would like to see more of? Are there any medical conditions you are looking for research projects about? If you don't want to post publicly about medical condtions (or other issues of a sensitive nature) feel free to pm me. I will respect your privacy.
I tend to only post the higher dollar research projects when they want you to go to their facilities. Do you want me to post the $10 $20 $30 etc..dollar projects where you will need to travel to their facility? What are your interests? Sports? Psychology? Medical? Technology? Creativity? Reality TV? I have seen a lot of open casting calls and calls for very specific types of families for the shows "Wife Swap" and "Trading Spouses" Is there an interest in those kinds of things? Occasionally, I see posts for auditions. For what, I don't know because I don't read them. Any interest there? Toss out there anything and everything. As long as it is legal and not amoral I'll search for it.
I realize not everyone is comfortable asking for what they like/need even when it's not of a sensitive nature. That's okay! Feel free to pm me. I will always respect your privacy. You have a much better chance getting what you need/want and earning some extra cash if you tell me what your interests are. Let me know what you would apply for.
Please, tell me the things you would like to me pay attention to. If I have time I can try to research very specific requests. Or, I can help you to search. This is the community's post! So community, Sound Off! Tell Me What You Want!
Peace
MandaJo111 2-2-2007, 2:54 AM Let me start by saying you are awesome!! You have gotten me into more surveys than I ever expected! Thank you!
I am in Savannah, Georgia and live right on the South Carolina boarder so anything in the area is fine.
I thought the creative GPS thing you posted the other day was interesting -- I enjoy psychology and criminal justice type stuff as well. I am usually pretty much game for anything that pays or has the potential to. I also enjoyed the tech ed one and the web cam interview as well.
As far as medical conditions, I was recently diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Disease (or Syndrome also called PCOD or PCOS).
Heart disease also runs in my family (I don't have any problems yet..knock on wood). Insomnia (ahhh hem...it is 2:52 AM!) Anything home business or small business related oh or military related.
You know I search for stuff sometimes and find it fruitless....you find all of the good stuff. :)
Thanks again! :)

There are a couple of others sites in the forum too.
dmmiller 2-2-2007, 9:27 AM I agree.. Your awesome! Thanks for everything you've done, and now are wanting to do. Its very sweet and generous of you to research this kind of information.
I personally like work at home ops, but dont really like the selling aspect (like telemarketing or answering phones), something more computer oriented. Also like the secret shopper ops, and the Clinical trials.
But again, thanks for everything. You rock!

Thanks! You are sweet. Are you aware I have posted over 70 Mystery Shopping Companies? They start in the teens (the pages) All are marked with a warning icon and they all say "Mystery Shopping Company" in the thread title.
I will keep my eyes open for ya! My insomnia is the community's gain! I hope anyway! :cheesy:
I used the "Search This Forum" box in the top right hand side of the screen. I typed in "Mystery Shopping Company" and Viola! Good Luck!

dmmiller 2-2-2007, 9:51 AM Yes, I'm researching those (shopper threads) as we speak. :)
I did sign up for a few of them last week. :)

KBsDarling 2-2-2007, 11:27 AM I love this forum but will not contribute to anyones heinie or head widening LOL HK
I like product test...Money is GREAT but I seem to have better luck with ones that are more about getting free goodies to use and talk about then getting into the high dollar pay ones.
I like that you list with the local in the subject. Lets me know right away where to look
pennylane 2-2-2007, 1:11 PM I, too want to thank you for all your hard work here. It's the first place I come to when I log on the computer, most times early in the morning! I will be retiring at the end of this month...:cheesy: :D from a career in lots of places of doing data entry jobs. So where will I be spending my retirement? In front of a computer! :eyepoppin
From all the possibilities you have posted, I have been able to sign up for lots of surveys and hopefully, your insomnia gets better for you, but I'm sure most of us won't mind if you are scouring the internet while we are sleeping away.
FYI...watching the computer screen tricks your brain into thinking it's daytime even in the wee hours of the night. For myself, I have to get off the computer around 10 PM, otherwise, my brain is still buzzing when it's time to be sleeping. Just a tip.
:gdbouquet1:
tdanette 2-2-2007, 2:16 PM Thanks for all the hard work you're doing for us!!!!! I can't think of a particular survey I'd like to do but I do prefer those that guarantee payment, even if it's $1 :)
Are there any book review sites that pay or surveys about authors or certain books? I like to read so I'd be willing to give feedback on something like this.

:gdyeahthat:
I stay at home with my 4 young kids. I would love anything that is family-oriented... not sure exactly what you would find that is out there, though. But I live less than an hour from Yale in CT and even some kind of child-behavior study or twin study (mine are 1.5 yrs)... or language study... or, well, heck, I have no idea (that is why I completely defer to you and all your posts!)
Thanks for asking!! :D

That's really good to know. I actually come across research and surveys involving children fairly often. I have avoided all but the ones that offer toys or products as a part of the study. I was not certain how parents felt about having their kids participate in research as "subjects" Even in the ones that have no medical connections at all. I ran into a couple of people that were horrified at the prospect of involving their children in a psychological research project. I have since shied away from kids and research.

Thanks for the great clinic sites...I will check them out.
I think there is no problem with involving kids in things. Personally, I don't mind at all as long as my child is not endangered in any way.
rae662000 2-2-2007, 3:59 PM Although I have been on this site for over a year, I just found this forum last week. I signed up with 4 or 5 companies and already did a survey and got paid :g_dance: Thanks to you mmm40 and all you do:yelclap: Now I would be interested in product testing, focus groups, family oriented one (I have two kids 3-6) and basically anything in the Atlanta area. Thanks again:2wiggle:
Thanks mmm40 for being so giving with your time and ideas! We all appreciate it! I would be interested in any surveys that take place around Houston. I too would be interested in any stay at home jobs online. I don't like to sell things but typing for medical places would be interesting. I will be retiring at the end of this school year and will be looking for a part-time job. If you have any ideas or sites that would help me please let me know. I am looking for some type of seasonal job. Thank you!!!
I will keep watch for work at home postings. I want you all to know this is an area I know very little about. I have definitely learned to spot obvious fakes but beyond that I am soaking wet behind the ears! It will be up to all of you to research the posts I find, authenticate them, and decide whether they are worth the time and effort.
I do have some experience with independent contractor work within the retail industry. That isn't working at home per say but it isn't the traditional 9 - 5 job.
We will have to learn together. I do know we have a few members that have experience with work at home employment. Hopefully, they will be willing to help us all learn.
my2kidsmom 2-3-2007, 1:51 AM Miranda...you are GREAT!!!
I look for anything I can do to test products or participate in surveys to earn $$$$. I don't mind my kids (8 and 4) participating either. We are a homeschool family and live in MS about 1 1/2 hour from Jackson so any kind of project there would be great. I really enjoy doing the interactive focus groups and I have the webcam and did one interview with it. I really enjoyed that. I have been keeping my eyes open for some sort of ligit work at home opportunity (with very flexible hours). I've found some good resources if anyone wants to PM me, I'll be happy to share. (WAH might be a good sticky or folder for discussion.)
DramaQueenLucy 2-3-2007, 11:26 AM Miranda,

KBsDarling 2-4-2007, 3:12 PM Am I a bad parent cause my first thought was "They can use her as a subject anytime" LOL?
Actually she likes WRIkids even though we only get maybe 1-2 every 3-4 months and the different times we have done product evals she loved giving me her "feedback" she puts so much thought and work into its cute to see her little mind gears turning lol
i live in the dallas area and would love to get into mystery shopping. the online surveys are confusing for me because when they email me i am not sure which ones are legit. thanks for your hard work. its because of you that i lobe gotta deal!
wyldmama 2-4-2007, 5:33 PM Miranda, thanks for all the work you do. I live on the MS gulf coast, some things are still in disarray from Katrina and I'm disabled. I suffer w/fibromyalgia, migraines and other chronic pain problems. I enjoy surveys, focus groups, on these medical topics, psychological or other family/inherited diseases, disability issues, older (over 50) women and think I would like to do product testing.

One good way to separate the good from the bad is to set up an email account designated solely for survey sites. Give only the companies that you have researched here that email address. Then keep your welcome email from them in your email archives. Gmail is great for this. If you get an invite from someone you can't remember you can search your Gmail for any and all contact with the company mailing you the invitation and/or email.
This link will take you to a list of all the threads for Mystery Shopping Companies that have been posted in this forum. Some may have slipped by the search feature if Mystery Shopping Company is not posted in the thread title. Good Luck To You!
Sorry. Link isn't working. Use the "search this forum" tab in the upper right side of the screen. Type in "Mystery Shopping Company"
Oh, and if I haven't already said it..............:2welcome:
Just a reminder. If you try to reply to old threads like the mystery shopping threads you will get a warning. You Can Reply To Them Though! See The Pic Below

Hello,
I just found this website/thread. I am a Stay at Home Mom and would be very interested in any surveys for either cash or GC. Not really interested in sweepstakes, a waste of my time, since I am not lucky usually. LOL
I am 30, mother of 1 boy (2 months now) and a homemaker. So, if you have anything that is online surveys/focus groups, etc. for cash, GC or a gauranteed reward, I would be very interested in hearing about it.
Thank you so much!!!!! :)

:2welcome: Boy, have you come to the right place. Just start reading all the pages in this forum. You wil find many good survey sites listed here. There are research projects, products tests, focus groups galore. I think we have had one bad project posted here. (boy is it ever a bad one) but other than that every thing here is real and pays in cash, checks or GC's. We have lots of super great people here. If you have any questions at all just ask. I am always willing to help if I can. So, when you have enough posts to pm...feel free to pm any time. I am not a moderator. Just a chronic insomniac that spend all my time taking surveys and hanging out here! Welcome!
I've been cruising gottadeal pretty religiously for some months now, but I just got to this section. I'm blown away! I never thought this kind of thing was legitimate, so it's great to read about folks having good, profitable experiences! I live in a very rural area, so on-line, at home opportunitites are great for me. My dd is a high school senior (I think she would enjoy doing these, too!.. she is very opinionated. LOL) going off to college in the fall, so I could definately use some earning opportunities. Thanks so much for sharing the fruits of your labors here. I can't wait to start looking! (any particular tips or things I should read/know before I start?)
