Yes I did.. several times lol.. I finallyyyyyy was able to access it.. I cleaned out my cookies and rebooted and after several more tries, it just went thru.. Gosh I felt like screaming lol.. It was a very very long survey, but quite thought provoking, several different real life scenarios in which you had two choices to decide on, and then comment on why you made those choices..and then 54, yes "54" card games lol before it was all over.. I have a headache lmao.. Thanks Miranda:gdflower3:

Dear Study Participant:

Thank you for your participation in this study on emotions and social interactions.

This survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. (While there are a lot of pages, some pages only have one question.)

You will be asked to read a scenario, imagine that it is happening to you, and respond to questions about the scenario.

In one week, you will be emailed Part 2 with brief follow up questions in a similar format.

Once you complete today’s survey, you will automatically be entered for a chance to win $200. Once you complete Part 2 next week, you will automatically be entered for a chance to win another $200.

Once 140 people have participated in Parts 1 and 2, the surveys will close and the winners will be selected randomly.

That’s a chance to win for completing both surveys!

This research is being conducted by Jennifer S. Goldman of Columbia University. All responses are confidential. Information will not be made available except as a summary of general findings; no individual responses will be reported.

Had a survey/ phone conference for $10 tonight and they needed 3 people to do the pre-survey and call in out of 4....only 2 of us called or even did the survey! This was one of those invitation only ones too so check your emails, there are still openings. Please consider taking part in a nationwide research study sponsored by the
NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MENTAL HEALTH.

The study will create a DNA collection from over 2,000 people to permit scientists to search for depression-related genes. These scientists will not be given any information that could identify you or your family.

BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING:
• Help us with this difficult task.
• Finding relevant genes could lead to the development of better treatments.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
• People who have had 2 or more periods of depression.
• The first depression started by age 30 or younger.
• At least one brother, sister, or parent has also had depression (by age 40 or younger).
• We are unable to include people with bipolar disorder, or with bipolar disorder in the immediate family.

IF YOU VOLUNTEER:
• You will be interviewed about your personal and family mental health history.
• You do not need to live near our site. Interviews can be completed by phone.
• You will be asked for a blood specimen for DNA studies. This can be done in your own home or in our office.
• You may be asked for help in inviting family members to participate, but family participation is not required.
• Confidentiality is protected.

DO GENES CAUSE DEPRESSION?
Studies of depression in families suggest that around 50% of the predisposition to major depression is caused by genes. People with recurrent depression that starts at a younger age have more relatives with depression. There are probably many interacting genes, rather than a single gene as in some medical disorders.

WHY FIND THESE GENES?
Identifying these genes would help us to understand the brain mechanisms involved in severe depression.
This could lead to discovery of new treatments.

Compensation: Up to $100 for a 2-3 hour interview and a blood draw

So I had a survey a few weeks back that I got kicked out of. Columbia did a great job handling this issue. After 25 min into the study I got kicked out. I emailed them and she said she'd try to get me back into the study. I actually had forgotten about it until going through my emails today. I emailed the lady back and said thanks for trying to get me back into the study. I guess it was unsuccessful. She just responded with the following:

Hi Chassie,

I'm not sure why some people get kicked out of the surveys. Thanks for
trying, and I hope you'll participate with us again.

I put $5 in your paypal account for your effort.

Thanks again,

Amy Krosch
