My SIL is getting married again next spring. Her fiance has an 8 year old son from another relationship. I have met this boy only one time, but just found out that they are all coming to town for Christmas. My own son is 9, and I think that they probably have many of the same interests, but the problem is that the gifts I bought for my son are well more than what I want to spend for this little boy I barely know. So....what kinds of cool gifts can I get for under $20?

My son is also 9, you can get an airsoft gun for about $20 I think, I just bought a Nerf N-strike Tech Target from walmart for $15, it has an electronic dart board and two guns that you shoot the nerf darts with, it's pretty cool I think.

Lego Bionicles are fun and age appropriate. My son started playing with them at 7 and still loves them at 12. Prices from $5 to $20 (with a few sets into the $80 range)

Does he like to skate? You can pick up a pair of skates for under $20 at walmart!

MY BIL is a storyteller and my kids LOVE his CD's (ages 4 and 8). The stories are very family friends and FUNNY. It is a great gift.

I vote for the 20 questions game also!! I bought my son one last year and all of the kids (ages 5-15) fought over it at grandma's house!! And....it's only about $9.99 at walmart!!

You can get fantastic stuff for kids at Michaels. The have tons of project stuff for girls and boys. (My son LOVES the kids isle). Anyhow if you have one of the 40% coupons you can save money as well. We usually purchase a lot of gifts for kids in the extended family this way.

The 20question game is a hugh hit, we got them last year for almost everyone. Its on sale this week at Walmart and this year we got the sport and music 20 question for most of the kids. The new ones run around 18-20 dollars.
