View Full Version : Type of PayPal Accounts beatmix01 1-17-2005, 9:14 PM Do most of you have personal accounts or Premiere accounts w/ PayPal? RossMAN 1-17-2005, 9:34 PM I have a Paypal personal account because I despise the fees. My wife has two Paypal accounts. Her Premier/Business account is for Paypal transactions. She also uses her Personal account for smaller eBay auctions (selling coupons for example). outnumbered 1-17-2005, 11:02 PM I had a personal one and switched to a premiere account when a couple people sent me credit card payments. I didn't realize at the time that they'd take fees out of EVERY transaction in the future, even bank account ones. I thought they'd only take fees out of money sent to me with a credit card. I haven't been able to figure out how to switch back--it doesn't look like I can. Grr. I don't sell things on ebay and I rarely receive money so it's kinda stupid for me to have the premiere account; I was just trying to make it easier for the people who sent me money via credit card...if only I'd known! beatmix01 1-17-2005, 11:12 PM they take money out when people send you money via bank accounts too? hmm.. how about sending money from a premiere account? RossMAN 1-17-2005, 11:21 PM they take money out when people send you money via bank accounts too? hmm.. how about sending money from a premiere account? If you have a Paypal Premier/Business account fees are deducted from ALL INCOMING PAYMENTS regardless of funding source. outnumbered 1-17-2005, 11:24 PM Yeah, and you can't switch back. It sucks. I guess I should be glad I don't need to use PayPal often--I'm not getting robbed of a lot of money. RossMAN 1-17-2005, 11:33 PM Yeah, and you can't switch back. It sucks. Sorry but that is incorrect, two things you should know: You are allowed to downgrade your account ONCE (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_help-ext&leafid=1405&answer_id=15465559). A better solution is to have two Paypal accounts (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_help-ext&leafid=1403&answer_id=15467611). I have used my Personal PayPal account more often lately as there's no fees. :) outnumbered 1-18-2005, 1:36 AM Sorry but that is incorrect, two things you should know: You are allowed to downgrade your account ONCE (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_help-ext&leafid=1405&answer_id=15465559). I looked all over their site and couldn't find it--I thought it was just impossible. beatmix01 1-18-2005, 2:09 AM Another note, no single bank account can be associated with two separate paypal accounts. DeviousTrap 1-18-2005, 7:29 PM Business premier account, and another premier account. Frankly I can live without the 2.9% cost and I just find it to be an inconvenience asking people to use a specific account depending on their payment source. The personal account used to be a personal account, but I gave up and upgraded it about 6 months ago. Now Telnap related payments to the telnap business account, and everything else to me "personal" premier account. |
