Just wondering how early people have put their Christmas tree up? Sorry if this is already a thread, I haven't seen one asking this question. I have actually put my tree up before Halloween before!!

I've put it up as early as this week last year. My husband takes down the entire tree and decorations the day after christmas so I like it up as long as possible. Im putting ours up this weekend.

Do they even sell trees this early anywhere? If they do, I'd like to get one. My husband is going TDY the Sunday afterThanksgiving until the Saturday before Christmas. With 2 kids under 2 I really don't want to go out buy and select a tree and put it up without him, but it's sad to wait til 2 days before Christmas to start decorating.

The earliest we ever put up the tree was the day after Thanksgiving last year. Prior to that we always did it around the first weekend in December.

Generally the day after thanksgiving, but this year my oldest will be with her father so we may do it thanksgiving morning before she goes with him for the weekend.

I forgot to tell you that when I put my tree up before Halloween it was an artificial tree. I dont think I could have kept one alive that long.

Im thinking of at least getting the tree out by Friday and sorting through the ornaments. Still have to buy candy canes. New puppy in the house (shes 10 months old) so no icicles this year. Major choking hazard for dogs.

I am guilty! I just put my tree up today while my husband is gone> he is not going to be as excited about it as I am.

I usually get a real tree but every year we have had problems with it falling. I finally told the husband to get a fake and we did. I guess I can put it up real eary this year. :D

I once put up on halloween night and in our old house where it was you could see it from the front door so all the trick-o-treaters looked at me and my husband like we were crazy. But now its BF night

About two years ago I put ours up the weekend before Thanksgiving because my sister and her family were coming to visit. We did Christmas and Thanksgiving together. I will probably put mine up next weekend.

Were putting ours up (fake) as I type, my daughter is doing the final branch spreading, then off to put on the lights.

I usually do it the evening after Thanksgiving but since kids are off all week I figured something for us to mess with.

We put ours up every year on Thanksgiving. The kids wanted to do it earlier this year. Last week to be exact. But our oldest is in college and won't be getting home till Tues. or Wed. So since I put it together and all the kids decorate it every year together, we have to wait. Then each year the kids take turns putting the angel on top.

Mine have been up for about a week now. Holiday dishes were switched out Nov. 1. Yeah, a bit early, but I have a lot of decorating to do. I have one in the living room and another in the family room. Once Thanksgiving hits, there is too much going on, I like to have the house decorated early, so we can enjoy it & not be stressed out that everything needs done in a hurry.

This year is the earliest I've ever put up a tree, it's done. I assembled it on Thursday and my daughter decorated it last night and today. I've even got the Christmas stuff all over the house. I know I'm going to hear about it since I'm having Thanksgiving, but I'm honestly glad I'm done.. now to get some alone time so I can wrap some presents.

We put ours up this past Thursday becsause my daughter was begging us to. We are going to decorate it Thanksgiving morning. It is an artifical prelit so it still looks pretty just standing there all lit.

It had been a long tradition in my family to put up the tree the day after Thanksgiving. Now that I am married with children of my own, I attempt to maintain that tradition, although last year we had two trees put up; he put his upstairs about a week and a half before and I stayed true downstairs until the day after. This year, I am not sure who will win the tree fight.

We usually put ours up Thanksgiving week-end. However this year, I need to purchase a new one. I got rid of our old one this summer....it was too big for our new home. Does anyone have the prelit ones? I am looking for one, about 6 1/2 - 7 feet. I still can't decide if I want colored or white lights though. Any ideas would be very helpful, my dh just says "whatever you want dear".

I tried to get my husband to start putting up the tree tonight (sunday), but he said no. Wednesday though he said was ok. LOL. If it wasn't so heavy I'd do it myself. Cannot wait till it goes up

Just got back from Wal-mart here and bought a 6 1/2 foot prelit tree for 29.97 I figured if I don't like it, I'm not out a ton of money and I can just buy another one for next year at the after Christmas sales.:)

Black Friday. We always do real so I cannot imagine putting it up earlier ... it would not last till New Years if we did. Dh is off this BF so we have already made plans to go ahead and go get it :g_dance:

Mine goes up on BF. I usually don't do any decorating until then but I was feeling Christmas-ey today and bought a wreath and decoerations and made it up and have it hanging now. I was going to hang it outside but don't want my toys to get dirty so I hung it in the LR.

We actually put ours up yesterday, and I put a few ornaments on it "just to visualize the new theme". WE are"decorating it next weekend, but I am glad it is up, so we can actually enjoy decorating it this year instead of trying to do too much at once. Now I can get it all ready without any mess.

My Dh put up our tree on the 10th of this month, I couldn't believe how early he wanted it up. But, I let him buy a new huge artificial one this year and he was too excited to wait. He's also in retail, so he gets burnt out on Christmas by BF and doesn't want to do anything once he gets home!

I put up our tree this past Monday, but I usually put it up the weekend of Thanksgiving. I haven't decorated it yet, because I have a new kitten and wanted her to get used to it and try and get her to not climb it before I put up any ornaments on it. The first night she was looking up into the tree and then last night she didn't do anything to it, which I am surprised about that.

I was 2 days behind this year because all of my family was at my house for Thanksgiving. I didn't have time to put it up the day before like I usually do and then Friday I went shopping. So, the tree went up on Saturday. I put lights on the porch yesterday. I'm trying to get Jamie to get on the house and put up the icicle lights.
