They will contact you when a survey comes up that fits your profile. Keep a watch here on this forum for posts about surveys they have. More often than not, it will get posted here before the majority of people get the email that it is available.

Gmail notifier goes with Gmail email accounts. It plays a sound and shows an excerpt from each incoming email in real time.

I just got an email from them as well. I don't feel comfortable giving my SSN to ANYONE, even if they are a trusted site. They might not have bad intentions, but I can't be 100% sure that they are going to keep my info secure. Am I the only one that feels this way?

You are right to be very cautious. I look at it this way. Once a company has established itself as reputable they are probably just as safe as any credit card company, credit reporting agency etc...These companies have thousands of employees with access to your SSN. Who's to say some of them aren't thieves? When I returned to college there were students in the Admin. offices that had access to all students SSN's One was very quietly fired and expelled for helping herself to various SSN's. Of course, there was the scandal years ago about CC companies using Inmates! to input data for credit card companies.
Nothing is 100% I see an established company as safe, if not safer, than CC companies or any of the other places I mentioned.

Hello~

I'm wondering if someone who has experience with LiveWire can tell me how their payments work? I took a $10 survey with them a couple of weeks ago, and qualified and finished the survey, but didn't hear anything else from them. There's no way (that I can tell) to log into their website and see a survey history. Will the check just come in the mail automatically? I'm worried I wasted my time on this one... :worried:

I am sorry. I should have been more clear. As long as you have an account with them and your email and contact info is already in their database you will be fine. What I wanted to convey in my OP was that this isn't one of those surveys that any person randomly sign up for. You must already be in their database. Otherwise, you will complete the survey and never hear from them.

LOL! I didn't mean to imply you would make multiple accounts. So, trying to make sense about the correct question...............:banghead:

I honestly don't know. :g_shrug: I have only one kid in the eligible bracket. For now I would only do it once with one child in mind. In the meantime you can email them and ask them if it is okay for each eligible kid in the household to take the survey. Better too be safe rather than risk getting the boot from the panel.

I signed up for them a couple weeks ago. Is there a page to sign in to and see what surveys you have completed and qualified for. We have taken some of their surveys but don't know the results. The surveys always end with saying we completed the survey and thanking us but no other information. My ds son took the prequalifying survey posted here and just finished taking the follow up survey but it ended the same way. So for some of you that has been paid by them, how did your surveys end?

mmm40

The last page says

LIVEWIRE

You may close this window or type a new address into the address bar.

I don't think there is anyway to log into your account. I am not certain about this tho.
I do know I have left a survey unfinished because my browser has crashed. When I got up and running again I went to my email and clicked on the link and it took me back into the survey and to the last question I completed and I finished the survey. If I click on the link in the email and it says I have completed the survey then they have my info. The survey was submitted. You do not have to request payment from LiveWire they will just send you a check approximately 4 - 6 weeks after completing the survey.
Hope this helps.

Yes. You should have been sent a screener survey first. That is when they qualify people. Once you qualify they send you another email with the link to the actual survey. As long as you complete it before the survey is full (they intentionally over book) you will be paid.
Now, just sit back and wait for you check to arrive! YAY! :g_dance:

I recently did a survey for Live wire and it asked for my SS#. I hit the "on file" option as it was not a secure site. I recived an email from denise@<hidden> asking for my SS# that I could "safely" email to them or call and leave a message. Neither way is secure so I am not sure what is up. I went to their web site and there is no place to edit your info to check and the only way you apply to them is via email. Its only $3 and not worth the risk. Anyone have any experience with them?

NO....but, run screaming FAST in the opposite direction.:yup:

Not true.

They are asking for your SS# for legitimate reasons. Tax purposes. They are required to report income paid our to the IRS. If you make 600.00 in a year they need to send you a 1099 form. If you aren't comfortable don't do it. It is just like giving your SS# to an employer. This is going to become standard procedure for survey companies.

I dont mind providing it to them but I will not send it via email or leave it on an answering machine. I dont know who this person is and the is no way to log in to thier site. They only correspond via email. The site when I did the survey and they asked for it was not secure which is why I did not enter it originally. There was recently a problem with ID theft from a Mystery shop Co I used to work for so people need to be more cautious when giving this info.

We had ID theft at the last college I attended. The student worker they had in the admin. office helped herself! It's everywhere.

How about if you send the number in 3 separate emails? Would that make you more comfortable? Hmmm. Thinking of new ideas........(this could take awhile)

I just completed a LiveWire survey and they didn't ask for my SS#. It was my first one with them so maybe that's why. I wouldn't do it if the site was not secure, no way- nor over the phone or through email. In fact most reputable companies warn you not to do so. I would contact them via email and suggest they upgrade their site to secure if they want this info and explain why you didn't give it for the survey- maybe you'll get credit. I wonder if they would let you do it via mail like cc companies? IMO $3 is not enough to take this kind of risk and the headaches that can come from it.

Then they need to provide a SECURE site to send it. I guess that I am just very leery of giving out my S.S# to anyone. But, if mmm40 says it is legit, then follow HER advice. I still would NOT email it, not secure enough IMO.

I don't blame you for being leery about the non secure site. LiveWire tho, they are a reputable company. I can't believe they haven't updated their site yet. Maybe if enough people holler they will. :g_shrug:

I still think sending it in 3 emails would be pretty safe.

HI, the problem with that is if the wrong person hacked the emails or got them one or 3 they would have the info. Something isnt right with this. The should also know that those are not secure and never advised by any site. Im wondering if this is a spoof of the real site?

I have done lots of surveys with them and never had a problem. They are very legitimate. I don't think that is an issue at all. I would have to say that I would go with voice mail....or I can get really creative on you.

Come up with a code...correspond the numbers 0-9 with random letters of the alphabet. Then email her the code and leave a voice mail with the corresponding letters that make up your SSN. Someone would have to have their voice mail and email to get your info and I doubt that would happen.

This would look something like:

0 -- L
1 -- P
2 -- K
3 -- F
4 -- Y
5 -- D
6 -- M
7 -- X
8 -- J
9 -- Z

Therefore if your SSN was 123-45-6789 You would leave the letters PKF-YD-MXJZ on the voice mail and email them the corresponding code.

For this study, we can include more than one participant per household, but
