I would truley love to have an Ipod for Christmas, but I would definitely not pay $400 for one. First of all that would practically be my whole budget, secondly it is really not worth it. So I for one would be excited if they went on sale this year. :) Anyone else?

Ipods will never go on sale, unless either:

A) They're refurbished
or
B) The seller is okay with losing money off the sale.

Simply, because Apple is not only the developer of the Ipod, but also the sole seller (except for the outlets it allows to sell the iPod, and when they sell it at said prices, they make VERY little money off of it, so lowering the price would = losing money for them)..

Any questions?

Amazon usually has them on sale for 5-10% off the list price with free shipping.

On Black Friday, while you most likely won't see them on sale, many stores will throw in free items with purchase.

Even Best Buy employees don't get discounts on the iPods.

Best bet is on Buy.com and Amazon.com, they're usually under retail. It's no more than $30 off. The best thing is they don't charge tax and it's free shipping.

Yeah, there are some items that are NEVER on sell period. I knew this one store that was going out-of-business and they sold Croc's and I wanted some - so I went and they whole store was 70% and the Corc's were full price.

I'm not why these type products are like this, but normally you will not find them on sell. I believe that Apple does have a Black Friday or Cyber Monday sale or atleast I think they did last year.

That Apple sale was terrible.

Very true - I didn't stick around to find out what was "on sale" or whatever. I didn't figure they'd be coming off much.

BTW, If you're in college or you're an educator - you get discounts on Apple products, not much - but a discount.

You could go with the shuffle or the nano. ($149 and under)

Target.com has them, so you can use a 10% off target code if you don't qualify for the Apple student discount. Of course, I haven't seen free shipping on anything worthwhile on target's site since last year.

Just a word to the wise apple has a big press confrence coming tomorrow, which many people believe there will be a new ipod coming out, and be in stores for the holidays season. This may result in some discount of current gen stuff in some retailers, unlikely but possible.

Scott

There is normally a small discount on older generation stuff, but it doesn't stay around for long.

Typically, you won't see much of a discount on these. They tend to just be replaced by a newer model to keep the price point high.

That's why I refused to buy an Ipod. Besides, I got a 1gb Samsung player with FM tune(and voice recording) for $75 at Target on clearance. I'm happy with it.

My son is bugging for an Ipod too, but really..I don't trust him with something that small, and expensive.

You can sometimes find "previous generation" ipods for less right around the time they release something new because everyone wants what's new.
For example when the nano came out the ipod mini's went on sale.

The Apple Showtime event is over and here’s the highlights:

* 75 movies are available to download now from iTunes, at an initial cost of $12.99 for the first week and $14.99 after that. Preordered titles will be $12.99 and older movies will be $9.99.
* Future releases will be available the same day that DVDs are released.
* Dowloads will take about 30 minutes but can be watched during file transfer.
* Image resolution is 640 x 480.
* The movies will only be available in the US until 2007.
* DRM for movies is the same as it has been for iTunes TV shows.
* A wireless set top box for TV, tentatively called iTV, will launch in the first quarter of 2007. It will be half the size of a Mac Mini, it will include USB, ethernet, 802.11b/g, component video, optical audio and HDMI. It will be controlled by the Apple remote.
* iPod announcements included $4 games for the iPod, longer battery life and brighter screens and an 80GB model with prices starting at $249.
* The new Nanos will come in 5 new colors, have a 24 hour battery life and up to 8GB capacity.
* The Shuffle has been completely redesigned, now comes with an aluminum case and costs $79.

IMHO... not that you asked,,,LOL
My son (12) has a Nano. Just be advise they are rather ornery, if the battery isnt charged just so it doesnt work properly and seems to freeze, sometimes it wont shut off, and we've had to reset it once since Xmas to original factory presets.... its just a charging/ needing to be on the charger thing.
DONT GET FRUSTRATED WITH IT>>>>>>> its a great lil gadget, and he takes it everywhere he goes with few exceptions. Like a life support system to him..
Didnt mean to butt in... Jen
OH!!! And I have a shuffle, VERY unfancy but I LOVE IT......so simple my lil guy uses it with no problem. Had one since they came out, no problems with it ever. Doesnt have a display screen but I think worth the cash....

I just bought this for my daughter, it's nice because there is no tax at amazon! I had a 20 GC, took the change I found around the house, put it in the coinstar machine and got a 55 GC. Used both of those and ended up paying 44.99!

There is an ebay store called retail surplus where you can get IPODS for a reasonable price. The only problem is some of the merchandise is open box and returns so you are not guaranteed that it will work or even have all the parts. I have gotten a few things from there and have been very happy

I went to Walmart the other day and they have the I-Pod Nanos for $147.88 (regular price). Is this a good price for them? Mostly I've seen them for $199 so I thought I should buy this one (or rather my mom as she is buying it for my son. She told me to tell her where to buy for the best price and she'll go there). This is for my 11 year old son so I figured this is all he'll need. Nothing fancy

Circuit City made a mistake upon checkout (first time my mom took advantage of this anywhere) and the iPod rang up only $119 instead of the over $150 price. She paid cash and got out of their. LOL. Now I went back to see if was a true price OR sale price (unheard of for the GB). It rang up over $150. So not sure what happend, but at least my son got his for a great price

We're hoping to pick up an MP3 player (NOT an iPod.) for our nephew this year. He's 13, and it seems like it's going to be the only thing we can agree that he'd like. The thing is, I'm a little MP3 stupid, and not really sure what I'm really looking at (other than I know the more Gigs it has the more songs it can hold) when it comes to them.

I just want to post what I posted in the Ipod thread..

Can I just add a little food for thought here after reading. For jogging, working out, kids, preteens etc..The ipods are not the best as they are more hard drive based and don't take well to knocking around. This thru experience. You'd be better off getting a flash based mp3 player. The perks of those also..no docking, runs on batteries, more download capabilities and they aren't so delicate to use. Ipods are ok, but overhyped by name.

I would suggest the first thing you buy after your ipod purchase is a GOOD quality case for it. My son goes skateboarding with his Ipod and knock on wood (knock knock knock) nothing has happened to it. Ipods have an fm tuner add on. I know that ipods don;t have as many bells and whistle features as some of the other brands but 3 reason of why to own them come to mind.
1) customer service/warrenty: Apple has a sterling reputation in that dept. turn around time to get an ipod fixed is measured in days not weeks.
2) sound quality..Sorry it just doesn't get any better!
3) ease of controls: Ipods are made for easy customer use. It is not hard to figure out how to use it and the controls are large enough and easy enough for even a senior citizen to use.
Ok I lied there is 4! ha ha ha
One other thing I want to add ...have you just ever held an ipod? it has this weight to it that makes it feel expensive like you really own something wonderful... I guess it is hard to explain :) Most people who talk bad about ipods are not ipod owners since the reason ipods do so well is because of repeat customer buying.I know people who have 4 gens of Ipods and they are all still working.

Hi there. I have a question. I want to get my son (who is 7) and Ipod for Christmas. He has been begging for one. So, I was all set to get him the Shuffle as that is least expensive and I liked that he could wear it around his neck. Well, now I see the new designed Shuffles have a clip instead. Do you think this would be worse or better for a 7 year old. Or should I just get a refurbished Nano?? I am clueless when it comes to these, so any help would be great. Thanks.

Right now on the apple website you can get a 1gig ( I think it was 1gig at least) nano for $149 plus tax new. My hubby has a shuffle which is great for him because he likes to mix up his music all the time. I don't think a kid would really like a shuffle because there is no way to tell what song is playing because there is no screen. Get the Nano...He will LOVE you for it! We have 2 ipod videos, one nano, and one shuffle in the house:)

Sorry to all the fans out there.. sorry to burst the ipod love fest, but to hell with the ipod & apple already..!
1st, they have too much marketshare
2nd, competitors products are starting to get better (look at creative zen)
3rd, unless you are technology illiterate, you don't 'need' an ipod product; there are plenty of low cost alternative products
Besides, the more Apple sees their marketshare slip, they will fight back, eventually by making a better product. BUT THAT MEANS STOP BUYING IT FIRST!! If your a smart consumer you'll scrooge them this holiday season, and force them to innovate.

By buying the ipod, customers have forced the competitors to make a better product to match ipod.:smart:

I really, really wanted to purchase something other than the ipod this year for my daughters because I did not want to spend the $$$. Like I said in another post I almost decided on the creative zen and they were for under $100, alot more reasonable. However, as I read more and more I started to lean towards the ipod. I read ALOT of reviews and articles. I went through tons of Amazon reviews and websites. I REALLY wanted to buy the Zen and I have a good friend who loves her Zen and her whole family has Zen. Still.....when the new nanos came out just recently, I couldnt walk away. They were calling to me!!!!!! :)

I agree. Why spend more money for the "hype" of owning an iPod?

The Mp3 player we bought our daughter for Christmas has more than enough storage space for her needs, supports more file formats, AND has an audio recorder and FM tuner built in!

Plus, why pay more for a "proprietary" song on iTunes when you can buy the same song for less for any other Mp3 player from places like Wal-Mart. :smart:

Like I said before.. The Non Ipod owners are the haters:) Yes the more expensive Creatives are getting better but in almost every review they still come out either below or the same as an ipod. My foster daughter was the same way before she moved in here.. Always hating on the ipods saying "It is JUST the name..That is why so many people buy them" She owned a Creative Zen. But when she accidentally washed that Zen and I bought her a refurbished Ipod Nano she was SO excited. The last time I heard her talk about Ipods she was telling her friends "Just shut up and buy an ipod. It is not JUST the name" ha ha

OH and TMC.. You think apple has to much marketshare of the mp3 player scene? Do you want apple to go out of business and then see how out of control Microsoft becomes? Gez talk about too much marketshare! ha ha

you can buy/get songs from other places and not just itunes. Itunes is not JUST a place to buy music and video's it is also a software that happens to uploads the songs to ipods.

ok I admit it I am a laptop/ipod queen:)

I dunno I just find it a bit stupid to pay for some overpriced Ipod just because of some freakin name. I bought a used 20 GB Archos Jukebox off of ebay for $99 almost a year and a half ago and it's still going strong. I'm looking for something with more storage and video capability but there is no way in hell that I'm gonna run out and buy an Ipod. Why just b/c it's the cool thing. Everything is so biased towards them it's not even funny. Look at Cnet's reviews, oh it can do this and that but look what the Ipod can do. $199 for a 4gb Ipod what a joke.

I have 2 1st 2g gen ipod nanos on layway at Walmart for $129.00 each.

Ipods are Mp3 players and depending on who you talk to they are either overhyped and overpriced or they are the most fantastic Mp3 player ever created.

Go to the apple (ipod) website and check out their refurbished models. I have heard good things about them and they come with a 1yr warranty. I bought 2 ipod shuffles for my 12 and 11yo daughters from there for $29/piece. You cannot beat that price. They are not the fancy ones with a screen but how fancy does it need to be for a kid? I also like the shuffles because they can be worn around the neck. At that price they will have more stuff under the tree and not just an expensive ipod. :)

Just thought I'd pop in to let you know about the problems I had with my DD Sandisk Sansa MP3 player I got for her last BF. Can't figure out why, but all of a sudden, the bottom half of the LCD screen no longer works. I called them, they told me to send them a pic of the player on so they can verify that it doesn't work. Did that and less than 20 minutes later, I have an email from them to call them so they can finish up my request. 11 months after I bought it, I am getting a brand new player with that comes with a one year warranty! They even send me a prepaid postage label to return the old unit to them.

Can't beat that for customer service.

No iTunes can only be directly downloaded to an iPod. You can burn the iTunes songs to a CD though and take them from there to an mp3. There are other music sites that you can download songs directly to an mp3 player though.

I can guarantee you that it's an excellent MP3 player. I have the 4GB version, which can be found normally for around $120-$130. The only thing I would recommend it that you get a comfortable pair of earbuds for her, if you have a few extra bucks to spare. The Creative earbuds sound really good, but they are not comfortable at all. I'd recommend something in the low-end of the Sony Fontopia line.

Someone at work just demonstrated there's for me. And this guy totally loves it. He has the 30 GB player though. It totally rocks! He showed me pretty much everything you can do with it, including video, voice recording, etc. The screen has great resolution. He also said you can rip media directly from computer to the player (ex: from window media player to the Creative Zen player), unlike I-pod. The only dislike he had was that it currently doesnt come with many accessories as the I-pod does. However, keep in mind, that this is fairly new to the market, so accessories will soon follow.

I went to price one at Circuit City and for the 30gb it was like $227. Which in my opinion, isnt bad at all. I am keeping my eye out for BF deals for this as well! :eyepoppin

Looking at the TGE MP3000 1GB, $34.99AR, pg36 of Sears ad.

I need something to take a few albums or concerts with me to the office without dragging along 10-20 different cds. I usually listen to the same few concerts for a few months at a time so selection isn't that big of a deal to me. I believe in redundancy so all my original files will stay on my pc. I really need something cheap that if I drop it it is no big deal. I love the digital recorder aspect of it, I will actually use that alot.

I might get the 512MB version for my 7yo $19.99AR. I burn her music all the time but she rarely gets to listen to it in the truck as I'm a news radio junkie. Plus, same thing, gets dropped or lost, no big deal.

So really, what I'm asking is are these alright for my uses? I don't like fads and refuse to pay what an ipod costs unless there is some inherent benefit to me. From what I've hear, there are only drawbacks that come with that premium price. Is this a decent deal or should I just check eBay (firewalled from work) when they start to flood the market?

Lastly, I haven't found much on these (offbrand for ya) and would really like to find an online user manual. I need to know if I can play music through a pc directly with this or if I have to transfer the file.

I personally have the Creative Zen MicroPhoto and love it. At the time I bought it, it was the same price as a 2GB nano. It has way more features than the Nano: voice record, FM radio/record, and much more storage space. The Nano has flash memory, whereas the ZMP has a micro hard drive so you can't "bounce" it around as much. The downside to the player is that it is hard to view the OLED screen if it's really sunny out and you cannot listen to music while you view photos.

Even though I love my ZMP and 8GB is plenty for me, Microsoft's Zune is very tempting. I love the design of the player and the social aspect (sharing music). of it. Plus I have a Media Center PC and I assume you can transfer your recorded shows onto the Zune for portable viewing. Anyone else interested in this?

I agree with the NO answer. They might put some accessories on sale, but you hardly ever see iPod on sale. I just bought a 2gb Nano for my son at Sam's Club. It was only 137.99. That's a few dollars cheaper than most other places. I'll be kicking myself if it's cheaper on BF, but I had to take the risk.

The only things I haven't done is taken time to upload a movie and see how it works with the micro sd card(hoping some are on sale BF at a good price).

Not a large variety of accessories

Just posting my opinion/experience....

Last year, my DH wanted an MP3 player to jog with at the gym. We shopped, and he got some Philips MP3 player at BB. Looked great, had great memory, etc. However, it wasn't loud enough for him at the track (which is in the gym, and has the loud gym music, plus the loud class music from the aerobics room). We spent $125 on that thing.

So I wanted an MP3. Went to WM. Got a little RCA for $50! Holds about 50 songs (which is fine for the gym), plays loudly over all that mess, better arm strap, etc. Can only order 20 songs, but that's about a 1 hr, 15 min workout right there.

So he tried it out, and yep, I'm shopping for one for me AGAIN, because he fell in love with my little MP3 (after he laughed at it, too) Oh, and now he's fighting with the 4 yo daughter because she likes it, takes it and hides it so she can use it later.

Lesson: You don't have to go top of the line, I want the best name out there, to get a good product.

I played with this tonight at Target! I want to buy a video Ipod but then I saw this and I'm torn. The Zune has a radio and a larger screen that can be viewed in Landscape or Portrait. I was initially thinking of The Ipod Video since I'm so used to Ipod but now I'm not so sure. I love that these other two players have a FM tuner, recorder, etc and all for the same price! I wish I had a comparison list with reviews.

iTunes is specially for the iPod. If you want to save money, go with the Zen. Since, you already have an iPod. Save your money because better players will come out.

I just got back from buying the 30gb Zen video at Circuit City for $200. Pretty good deal, I haven't opened it yet, but the display model at the store was awesome. I would recommend the Zen because it's cheaper and has a pretty good display.

The Zen has better sound quality and is cheaper.

The Ipod is easier to navigate.

I have a Zen M. Love it !!

Don't know about Zune.

Good luck.

The zen is a little thicker than the iPod, but the same size lengthwise. IMO, the creative zen beats the ipod in many catagories, and is a better value. Of course, I've never owned an ipod before.

I have Itunes on my computer. Can I use this with the Zen or drag it into something else to get on the Zen? Also how would I download videos/movies/shows onto the Zen if I cannot use Itunes. Obviously it's what I'm used to and I am not familiar with other applications. The Zen is a little cheaper on CC right now, so I want to get it but want to be sure I can put my fave tv shows/ movies on there without a problem. Thank you for your patience with me.:o

I have the Zen Vision M. I love it. I put so many videos on there. It can handle many video formats. Plus it has the radio, voice recorder, and I can use it as a data storage. Also, I heard that Target is going to give a $25 GC when you buy the Zune. I dont know if that applies everywhere and when it ends, but...good luck on making your decision. :)

Personally I'm gonna get the Zune on BF at CC with my $200 from the Vonage deal. I dunno I just really like the Zune with how you can switch from landscape to portrait view. Microsoft has said that there will be firmware upgrades too. All in all it looks like the way to go.

dapreview.com has a few links to various reviews. There's a nice one on the engadet blog with pretty pictures.

We got the display boxes for these at TRU today. I was very tempted to get one after setting up our display. I love how the black one has a hint of blue and the brown, a hint of green. Alas, I'll have no $$$ to spend after I get the PS3 this Friday. It's nice to dream though...

I've been on the lookout for an MP3 player for a while now.. Would love to have one for the gym..

I've decided I'll be using Best Buy Bucks ($200 worth) and buying the 4gb iPod Nano (blue!) on BF, so in the end It'll probably cost me just a few bucks worth of tax, and I'll get a $25 gift card, so I might even make money off the deal :)

could you post what it says it looks like you have to sign up

yeah, you have to sign up, but it is free - just register a user name and password.

the article is 2 pages long. you would be best to read it yourself, but here are a few paragraphs.

"So how is the Zune? It had better be pretty incredible to justify all of this hassle.

As it turns out, the player is excellent. It can’t touch the iPod’s looks or coolness, but it’s certainly more practical. It’s coated in slightly rubberized plastic, available in white, black or brown — yes, brown. It won’t turn heads, but it won’t get fingerprinty and scratched, either. It sounds just as good as the iPod.

... ... ...

Competition is good and all. But what, exactly, is the point of the Zune? It seems like an awful lot of duplication — in a bigger, heavier form with fewer features — just to indulge Microsoft’s “we want some o’ that” envy. Wireless sharing is the one big new idea — and if the public seems to respond, Apple could always add that to the iPod.

Then again, this is all standard Microsoft procedure. Version 1.0 of Microsoft Anything is stripped-down and derivative, but it’s followed by several years of slow but relentless refinement and marketing. Already, Microsoft says that new Zune features, models and accessories are in the pipeline.

For now, though, this game is for watching, not playing. It may be quite a while before brown is the new white."

Not sure if this is a good deal or not (i have a generic MP3 player) but Meijer has a coupon in their 2 week sale ad that says "30% off with coupon 30GB iPod, white or black, Reg. 249.99, Good only on Friday 11/10/2006" I've heard that iPods never go on sale, so is this a good deal or is it overpriced and then discounted 30%?

That was a TERRIFIC deal!!!! I got in line before 11, so I would be able to get one of the five they were keping under lock and key until the sale started at 12 AM. I was number 5 (whew!).

The 30GB Ipod came to $175, then I had 9 coupons for $20 off for buying Proctor and Gamble items, so I left the store paying a grand total of $0. Can't beat that deal!:eyepoppin :eyepoppin

My Meijer in Michigan had a big note on 11/10/06 that said they were out (which happened right away) and did not have rain checks. The other ipods (which were not on sale) were disappearing quickly. I had to go to 3 different Meijers to find the 2GB for $149. I used my 15% credit card deal and got $22 off, so it was worth it. Not sure why they're not keeping them in stock at Meijer, but it was the best deal I could find (so far). I didn't have the $$ last week to do the P&G deal, but it doesn't expire until 12/16 and I need the i-Home thingie too, so I may yet have time. I heard, though, I can get it cheaper at Costco.

I think because you already have an established library in itunes. An ipod would be the best way to go. This way you have one library for the new player and your two existing players.

Yep, if you already have money into iTunes songs, an iPod will be the easiest way to go. I much prefer the Zen Vision M to the iPod, however. If you want to spend the time burning your iTunes library to CD and then ripping back to wma or mp3 format, then go with an non-Apple product.

I have been debating which one to buy since the summer. I still haven't decided. I have always seemed to lean towards The Zen vision M but I like the availablity of accessories that the Ipod has. My mp3 player died, so I am in the market for a new one.

Target has a Memorex 2gb for $64, Walmart has an RCA 5gb for $88(or 87..) and Office Max has a Sandisk 1gb for $49. My one requirement is an FM tuner. And please..don't suggest that stupid Ipod Shuffle. It is too small, and I like being able to see the song titles.

Stay far, far away from the Memorex. I bought 2 last year from Target for my kids for Christmas. Neither one of the batteries would charge. I tried and tried to contact customer service (too late to take them back to Target) at Memorex and it was absolutely impossible. They don't answer the 800 number nor emails. They are sitting here as paper weights at the moment. I am planning on buying new MP3 players this Christmas and will NEVER buy Memorex again. Absolutely NO product support.

I got one of the Sandisks from Best Buy last year (it was an early bird for 39.99 last year and is only $34.99 early bird this year) and it has worked great for me. It does have the fm tuner that gets really good reception and you can see the song information. It is small and lightweight...perfect for armbard (comes with one) wearing runners, like me. :gdrunner:

If you are looking to buy the Sandisk Sansa 1GB m240 at Best Buy for $34.99, Circuit City will have it for $39.99. It isn't showing up for Circuit City on the shopping list function, but I found it on the last page of the Circuit City ad scans. I know it is $5 more, but as it is the only thing I wanted at Best Buy, I'm willing to pay the extra $5 to order it online tomorrow and pick up later at Circuit City instead of dealing with the Best Buy mess. $39.99 still seems like a good price.

All you need is the headphone jack on the mp3 player. You can buy an adapter cord that plugs into the headphone jack on the mp3 and then into the stereo. I actually use the cord that came with my daughter's iDog to listen to my Creative in my husband's car which has the jack on the stereo. I don't have the jack on the stereo in my car, I have a CD/cassette in my car and use the cassette adapter to listen to the mp3 player in my car.

I know it is $5 more, but as it is the only thing I wanted at Best Buy, I'm willing to pay the extra $5 to order it online tomorrow and pick up later at Circuit City instead of dealing with the Best Buy mess. $39.99 still seems like a good price.

I tried the Sansa and the battery life was TERRIBLE. They advertise 19 hrs on a AAA battery but I was getting like 4 hrs per battery while I was in the gym. That wouldn't have been too bad if it had a lithium battery that I could recharge, but I went through so many batteries in those first 2 weeks that I had to take it back to BB.

I bought my husband an MP3 player last year for Christmas, we looked at both the IPODS and the Creatives and liked the Creatives better (same Hitachi harddrive, easier battery changing, better price etc). He LOVES his and has had no complaints. He listens to it on his break at work every day.... The only thing he has said is that it is a little big size wise (we got the 30g), now that there is a nice array of micros, nanos etc... what is a good player that holds a decent amount of songs (he has a ton on his), is small and less than 200.00 (be even better if it was less than 150.. we don't need photo, just music.. what do you guys think is the best for the small mp3's? Anyone have the Creative Zen V Plus 4GB? what do you think of it?

I haven't seen much discussion here about this, but Meijer had a 2G nano for sale this morning (Thanksgiving) for the regularl price of $149, but they gave you a $50 Meijer gift certificate. The sale started at 6am. I went to Meijer at 8:30 to get milk and figured I'd ask the electronics guy how long it took to sell out. When I asked he said he had 9 left, so I snatched one of them up.

My wife wants an iPod or an iTunes capable cell phone, so I figured I'd have the nano in reserve.

Does anyone know anything about the MP3 & MP4 players on computercityinc.com?
They list great prices but I would like to know more about the company. Anyone know anything about them?

They list great prices but I would like to know more about the company. Anyone know anything about them?Personally, I would be leary. There prices are just WAY too low! There is no mention on whether these are refurbished or not, and I also have been looking for an MP3 player and I don't recognize any of the brands (plus the brand names are not listed at all). I wouldn't buy there unless I knew someone that had. Also, this site has no customer satisfaction ratings. That is always a big factor for me. Here's something that also may help: go to www.buydig.com, check out their website and compare them with this website. They have received awards for customer satisfaction, and have customer ratings. I just bought a Canon camcorder there a couple of weeks ago and was VERY happy with the whole process. They beat everyone else's prices, but the prices were realistic. VERY fast, free shipping, and no tax. I had it in my hands a couple days after I ordered it, and I live a good 1000 miles away. Hope this helps you; I just don't want to see you get stung :gdbees: I bought one on BF online at CC, it is the Sandisk Sansa 1GB, was $39.99 yesterday, you may want to check Circuit City today and see if they have any; as of last night there were no more available for shipment, but they would sell me one out of one of my local stores, the othere 2 stores are sold out. This MP3 is highly rated...

Wanted to share with you a great deal I came across...

Oldest son wants an Ipod for Christmas, 4GB Nano type. Well, after scouring the ads for Black Friday, and venturing into an Apple retail store at Ridgedale mall and being thoroughly disgusted with the lack of any sales, and apathetic attitudes from employees, I hit the web.

Bought a 4GB Ipod Nano on the Apple website (through www.airforcetimes.com, "Shopping" pull-down, select "stores", "Apple"). Deal was $187 for brand new unit with free engraving and free shipping. Not only that, but also received $21 off of the $187 price (all colors except bright red). So, I was able to purchase it for $166. Better than most if not all BF sales. The only adder was sales tax. 3 day shipping is included at no charge.

Not sure if this was just for BF through the website and military discount, but thought you might want to check it out.

I bought a 1gb Sansa Sandisk C140 at FYE yesterday for $39.99 and was wondering if any of the bigger retailers sell any accessories that would go with this one.

I know this isn't the ipod- but i got the $13.97 mp3 players from Menards for my daughters. They are all 8yrs or younger so i wasn't about to get them anything to costly, but i figure this will hold enough music for them for the time being!

Not a bad deal! We've had Vonage for almost 3 years and love it! Our phone bill has dropped to almost nothing. :D

I hope you realize the $200 Vonage card will cost almost $300 after a 1 year subscription to Vonage ($24.99 a month). Personally I would look at as a short-term interest-free loan. Maybe Vonage will let you change your subscription to the $14.99 a month plan and that will only cost about $180 after 1 year. :)

All in all I would say you did well. Enjoy your Zune! :yup:

That's what the guy at CC let me put it in at $14.99. I didn't think that it would work but it did.
