My daughter always thinks she is the last to get something and thinks her friends have the best of everything. I come from a you had to earn what you got or saved at least some part of your money to get it type of upbringing. I have no clue what to get Miss Life is Not Fair, for Christmas. Help.

Try Amazon.com for a MP3 player. I got a Creative Zen Nano for my ds on there for around $40 it is really nice I believe it holds 18 hours of music. Here they are ranging from 49 to 89. :)http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=br_ss_hs/102-6072234-6479339?platform=gurupa&url=index%3Dblended&keywords=creative+zen+nano

I am lost on my what to get my teen son also. It is so much easier when they are young and you can buy them toys. You can only get a kid so many playstation games though :D

My 11 year old is hard too. Hes into football, wrestling, tennessee titans, and video games. There is only so much lol. From last christmas he got his room outfitted with Titan stuff so thats out. He owns pretty much everything when it comes to football and wrestling (training items, cards, etc). He has 8 video games on his list but that won't be enough. lol

What about pedicure/manicure gift certificates. Or a g.c. to get her hair done. She would probably love a day of pampering.

The new iPod nano would be a great leading-edge gift. The 2gb (silver) one is only $150 and the 4gb one's that come in silver, black, green, blue, and pink are $200.

A shopping spree at Abercrombie, The Buckle, American Eagle, etc would probably go over well, too.

If she loves fashion.. COACH handbag or possibly Dooney and Bourke.

I'd quietly ask her friends what they are wanting for Christmas. I'm sure it would make her year if she got one or two of the same things that her friends did ..

That's what my DD really wants and also a Chanel handbag. I just am not willing to pay that price. I am too afraid to try ebay. I am afraid one of the handbags would be a fake.

We will probably just give her money.

My vote goes towards either an MP3 player (lower-level funds) or an iPod Nano (higher-level funds), both of which are probably gonna be big on BF. Secondary votes are a TV/DVD combo (my niece went nuts over gettin' one last christmas), or give in to a good plan and get a really cool cellphone (could be a deathwish for yer bank account of ya dont get one with unlimited local calls).

I agree, get her an mp3 player, and if she doesnt want that then cash works too.

Have you tried a Coach outlet store? You can get some KILLER deals there. My last two Coach purchases I've saved over $100. Especially if you go to an outlet where they're already on sale, and then they do an extra 20-50% off.

PS. I'm selling one on eBay right now if she likes black.. :P Brand new with tags. I purchased it at an outlet last week then decided I didn't need it. (If further interested.. let me know.. I have close to 300 feedback at 100%)

My oldest DD is 18 and she wants a leather jacket, a 6 string seagull guitar, almost anything from bath and body works, osiris tennis shoes, clothes, and, and I am sure the list will grow.
Youngest DS will be 16 on Dec 27, he wants new rollarblades, clothes, tennis shoes, PS2 games, he want a PSP last year but we could not afford it maybe this year since jobs are working out now

Those with teenage boy, Are they into weight lifting or exercising? We got DS last year a weight training ball, a pull up bar, push up bars, and an exercise mat. He has a weight set that he has done faithfully for 2 years now.

You could get a knock off from a purse party. They look very similar.

I don't think teenagers are as hard to shop for as parents think, it's just hard getting the info out of them that's all.

my general rule is if they are hard to buy for either: cash or a gift card to their favorite place to shop or eat or gas...

Another idea in which I will be using would be movie tickets. Here the kids tend to go in groups to the movies frequently.

www.jamesavery.com has some really nice silver jewlery. We got DD a ring there for her bday and had the inside engraved for her. She got a D&B last year for Easter and has carried it faithfully ever since. D&B has tons of cute stuff on thier site as well www.dooneyandburke.com .

If you decide on an MP3 player, an iTunes gift card would be a great stocking stuffer. My dd has a player, and we got her a gift card for her b-day. She loved it. We plan on doing it again for her stocking.

Target has a super nice portable DVD player in cute colors in todays ad for $99. Also has the Ipod Nanos in colors for $199. Teenage girls tend to like the fashionable color items LOL

Prepaid cell phone is a nice idea too. My son at age 11 is the last one of his friends to have one. I told him when he gets into high school is when I'll get him one. No way in 6th grade will I get him one. Its shocking hes the only one and he lets me know it.

My son is hard--mainly because he already has all of that LOL

I'm thinking of finding a cheap beater and giving that to him this year. He'll be 17 at Christmas.

My son is almost 12 and it seems like it's getting even harder to find things he'll really enjoy. I liked the idea of movie tickets. I was thinking maybe an air hockey table. Anyone know if I can find a semi decent one for 300 or under???

WalMArt has one right now for $198. I looked at it when I was there today and it seems ok. I couldn't turn it on to find out if air was evenly distributed though.
We have a chinzy (sp) air hokey/ping pong table from last year that is small. Much smaller than I thought it would be:(
I think we are going to get the larger table from Wal Mart though so we can enjoy too:tongue1:

The Sports Authority near us had a table that was air hockey on one side and could flip to become a pool table on the other side more than 300 but really nice. If we had room my son would want one.

I am having the hardest time with my 10 DD I refuse to buy her anymroe toys she dosn't play with them anymore and they jsut take up a bunch of room in her closet, So I have been seraching for something that she would want and that is in my price range....She has suggested that she would like a desk for her room, a new bed, and a night stand....sounds good except her bed is new and she has no room for anymore furniture in her room so....back to the drawing board....sigh.....

My 11 year old is the same way - all of her friends have "everything" and she has "nothing" She is getting a portable DVD player with headphones so I don't have to listen to her movies. I ordered a Pink one from Wal-Mart (I think it was $89). Clothes, jewelry (mix of costume and real), a nice jewelry box & a funky jewelry box so she can keep them separated, a nice "grownup" purse (her words, not mine) & a few other odds & ends.
She got an iPod for graduation last year (all of her friends got $20 or less, so she was the hit!).
She wants a cell phone, but we are NOT going down that road. She also wants a laptop, but with so many kids, we are not doing that either. Our playroom always gets a gift - which is our way of saying it is a family gift that everyone has to share - & I think it is going to be a new computer since theirs died recently.

What is it that she says her friends have that she does not? Usually the stuff that Nicole tells me about, I just tell her that she has a family who spends time together & that is more important!!!!!! She rolls her eyes, but it will be OK - family is more important than the "stuff"".
