View Full Version : Target Sneak Peak??
aerosmithgirl 9-8-2006, 11:27 PM I went to my local Target this past Monday and while looking at the grills in the back of the store, I noticed 2 pallets full of stuff. One had TONS of toasters, small coffee pots, waffle makers and the sandwich makers. The other had various vacuum cleaners. They were both stacked up. They could just be re-stocking, but why would they have the whole pallets out?? Could be BF doorbusters, like Wal-Mart has the $5 appliances.
Rebirth 9-8-2006, 11:31 PM It could be. I wouldn't doubt it though. Appliances are always part of the doorbusters for many stores.
mesarobins 9-9-2006, 1:08 AM I have lots of Target gift cards ready and waiting for BF. I hope they have some good deals this year. And I could use a new toaster, being a single mom and all I have to buy my own Christmas presents.

That is a good idea! I didn't think about saving gift cards specifically for Black Friday. I have two that I won, and I am going to save them. Thank you!
mitchandalisha 9-9-2006, 11:17 PM I also have Target gift cards waiting to be spent!

Don't feel bad .. I'm right there with ya!
Let's get ourselves something really good this year - deal?
bugsette 9-10-2006, 4:21 PM i could use some of those small applicances
Tessangel 9-10-2006, 9:10 PM I could use some cheap extended family gifts for this this year. I hope you are right??
BTW, where did you get all the gift cards??
fun_4_u_nme 9-10-2006, 11:05 PM Target was the last store I went to in 2005, they just did not have what I was looking for, I hope thats not the case this year
mesarobins 9-11-2006, 2:18 AM I have my gift cards from 3 places:
1. returns
2. mypoints
3. credit card points
Problem with GC is if you don't have them for the stores that have the deals you want you end up spending cash/charging anyway. I try to make sure I get them for places like Target and WM that have groceries too so if I have to spend $ at other places I can save my budget by buying groceries with the GC.

Were the appliances in a blue box?? Those are the ones that usually go on BF.
aerosmithgirl 9-14-2006, 9:23 PM Yes, they were in blue boxes.
vonnyb 9-14-2006, 11:29 PM If they were in blue boxes then I bet they are BF items. Both target and walmart are known for the blue box small appliances. I hope that is the case because I need one of those mini food choppers.
melrose6 9-15-2006, 8:50 PM I am getting so excited about BF now!!! These appliances make good Christmas gifts.
starshine 9-21-2006, 12:58 PM I bet they are the doorbusters! It's time to start hitting the backs of the stores like Target and Walmart to see if there is any stock there. Last year WM put alot of there BF stuff in the garden center. Usually marked Blitz. Time to get those noses snooping!
AndreaInNC 9-21-2006, 1:14 PM Target stopped doing "doorbusters" on BF, but usually has items available for Fri & Saturday. I have never had a problem getting those items the past few years .. it seems that in the past few years, there is never a reason to line up at Target on BF ..

Target has some great prices on items last year, they may not of been "doorbusters" but there were some good prices on some electronics, and toys.
I'd vote for Target over Wal-Mart any day of the week.
sigrist_2000 9-21-2006, 7:09 PM I'd vote for Target over Wal-Mart any day of the week.
same here
Yeah, I remember last year Target had some new release DVD's for like $5. I picked up Meet the Fockers, The Longest Yard, and some others. They went fast too. I'd call that a door buster.
sky_scraper123 9-22-2006, 11:52 PM Ok who's got the scoop on the door busters ? any TV's ?
sigrist_2000 9-23-2006, 9:50 PM Yeah, I remember last year Target had some new release DVD's for like $5. I picked up Meet the Fockers, The Longest Yard, and some others. They went fast too. I'd call that a door buster.
walmart had them to...most didnt know it..so selection was better
love2beurwifey 9-23-2006, 10:18 PM I just started saving gift cards for black friday. I am planning my baby shower right before BF so I hope I get a gift card to Target
shopping mom 9-23-2006, 10:41 PM Does Target price match on BF?
ccarson1972 9-23-2006, 10:46 PM Does Target price match on BF?
My Target doesn't price match any day, so I doubt they will for BF. I would ask your local Target to find out their ruling on this.
elena_398 9-24-2006, 10:52 AM I always buy a new coffee pot every BF with the pricing. Can't beat it
Gator Pam 9-25-2006, 1:01 PM Yeah, I remember last year Target had some new release DVD's for like $5. I picked up Meet the Fockers, The Longest Yard, and some others. They went fast too. I'd call that a door buster.
I'll have to respectfully disagree on the definition. Doorbusters are only available for a few hours, or until they sell out. And you can not get a rain check, AFAIK.
Everything in Target's ad is on sale for two full days. The DVDs are restocked overnight if they can't get to them during the day. And I am pretty sure Target will issue rainchecks for the two day sale items.
IMO, very different from door busters or blitz items at other retailers.
I love Target the rest of the year (see the Perimeter Perusing at Target (http://forums.gottadeal.com/showpost.php?p=90660&postcount=1) thread), but because they don't do door busters on BF and it is a two day sale, I usually hit them on Saturday instead of BF. Especially if I can get Wal-Mart to price match the Target ads. Saves me a trip to an additional store on BF.
threelittlecupcakes 9-26-2006, 10:43 AM same here
Me three
I'll have to respectfully disagree on the definition. Doorbusters are only available for a few hours, or until they sell out. And you can not get a rain check, AFAIK.<clipped by Patty>
I agree with your definintion Pam! Very well put and understandable.
cactusmom 9-27-2006, 10:01 AM I also noticed Target didnt have any door busters last year :(
They did have some good prices on their 2 day items though. Made it alot easier to get into the store though, the line wasnt bad at all :D

one thing i like about target is they are willing to give out rainchecks so that whenever the product comes back in u can get it...only thing is sometimes its weeks after...
leefamily23 9-28-2006, 8:14 AM We usually do Target 3rd or 4th on BF. Mostly because of the lack of doorbusters. Gotta make places like Walmart & TRU first.
rogue1230 9-28-2006, 5:11 PM one thing i like about target is they are willing to give out rainchecks so that whenever the product comes back in u can get it...only thing is sometimes its weeks after...
2 years ago I got a rain check for a dvd player 6 weeks before christmas..... It came down to a week before christmas before I complained and the manager gave me the next one up( prolly sick of seeing me 2 times a week) so I have been leary on rainchecks since that close call.

sometimes stores wont get the specific item back in for a while..especially if it was a hot item...so sometimes they would upgrade to next available...did you have to pay the difference from price minus sale price?...??
AndreaInNC 9-29-2006, 1:07 PM When I've done rainchecks for Target, they will give the option to substitute a similar item at at discount (usually 10%) if your item doesn't come in within a few weeks.
Sometimes you can catch that similar item on sale and also take the raincheck discount. I scored big that way a few years back.
mldepalma 9-29-2006, 2:55 PM And I am pretty sure Target will issue rainchecks for the two day sale items.
They do! I was in Target last year at 8:30am and they had already sold out of a few things I went there for - I asked a sales assoc. to help me find it and when he couldn't he wrote me rainchecks for 3 different things. I didn't get back to the store for another week afterwards, but once it was in stock, I picked it up with my raincheck for the BF price. :tongue1:
zoemariesmamma 9-29-2006, 9:12 PM I LOVE target  last year on BF I bought tons of board games super cheap and had coupons too..didn't think about price match at walmart though I went there first
christmasangel 9-30-2006, 8:53 AM I just started saving gift cards for black friday. I am planning my baby shower right before BF so I hope I get a gift card to Target
I give you credit- G/C dont normally last long with me! ENJOY! :)
wf2afcop 10-2-2006, 12:56 AM I was in Target this weekend and I was in the toy section and I noticed HUGE stocks of toys up on the top shelves, like they were almost dangerously stocked...maybe BF stuff?? I am going to go back and look a bit more thoroughly this week.
What they had up high:
FB Art Easels
Little Mermaid Carriages for the Barbie dolls
Some Dora stuff
Next Generation Ponies (the big ones)
That is all I can remember off the top of my head, I will be going back this week to inspect a bit more.
blakes_mommy 10-2-2006, 1:06 PM I love target, i did great there last year between the digital camera and dvd's I was amazed.
rogue1230 10-2-2006, 7:17 PM sometimes stores wont get the specific item back in for a while..especially if it was a hot item...so sometimes they would upgrade to next available...did you have to pay the difference from price minus sale price?...??
No the manager just gave it to me. Honestly I think everyone at that customer service and electronics desk was just so sick of me by then they may have given me anything to get rid of me.
mtckmom 10-4-2006, 2:11 PM They do! Any items that you can't get a raincheck for are noted in the ad below the pic or description. I don't know about in other areas, but last year Target by far had the best BF experience for me. They had several employees stationed throughout the store, esp. toys, to help people find what they were looking for, and they would go look in the back to find anything that was out if you just asked them.
Uberfemme 10-5-2006, 2:47 AM I was in Target this weekend and I was in the toy section and I noticed HUGE stocks of toys up on the top shelves, like they were almost dangerously stocked...maybe BF stuff??
That's how it was last year at my Target. They did the same in electronics, too, but not in the other departments from what I can see.
I usually prefer shopping Target over WM on an ordinary day, so I choose Target on BF as well.
I've seen a pattern with Target. They run out of space in their storage rooms and they begin to place items above the top shelf.
For example, go and check out their toy department to see what I mean.
However I especially pay attention to the appliances and electronics. It was the only way I figured out Target was going to DVD players available on BF a couple of years ago.
Pigsmama 10-5-2006, 2:41 PM I don't know where you're at, but here in Indy they do. Good luck, I'm getting excited now after reading all this stuff!
I want to know all about Target!!!!!!! I LOVE that store!!!!!! who can resist $1.00 shirts???? :):) babies being born and stuff!!!! and socks!!!! I want to know when stuff goes on sale....keep them coming ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):) from NJ

Welcome to the GottaDeal forums, mowire. Have you checked out the Perimeter Perusing at Target (http://forums.gottadeal.com/showpost.php?p=90660&postcount=1) thread over in Offline Hot Deals?

sometimes it pays to do that...;)
Also noticed that huge amount of toy inventory on top shelves...i thought i was in a cave...i dont think they willbe for BF..some might...but i think it will be for their catalog that will be coming out at the end of month....(so we think...)
Stella72 10-9-2006, 1:07 PM Yeah, I remember last year Target had some new release DVD's for like $5. I picked up Meet the Fockers, The Longest Yard, and some others. They went fast too. I'd call that a door buster.
I picked those up at Wal-Mart after getting all of my Blitz items :)
becca0884 10-9-2006, 2:12 PM Target stores are required to put up risers (the stuff stacked at the top of the shelves) every year. I work at Target overnights stocking and since last week, we've been trying ot get them put up. Some stuff may be for BF, but a lot of it is just extra stock for the christmas season.
There are risers in housewares, toys, sporting goods, and electronics.
aerosmithgirl 10-9-2006, 10:18 PM I was in this evening and this is what I noticed in electronics..........TruTech DVD players-96 of them, nostalgia CD players-24 of them, TruTech DVD home theatre system-several, TruTech under-cabinet CD/radio-a bunch and quite a few Memorex DVD/VHS players. I quit counting guys, sorry. My feet were hurting and I had to hurry and get out of there.

Thanks for the report. Did you "Dream On" regarding BF? And when you left the store, did you "Walk This Way"?? :D :D
aerosmithgirl 10-9-2006, 10:56 PM How funny!! I was about too tired to catch what you were saying!! But yes, I am dreaming on about BF! I can't wait.

I noticed on Saturday night that we got in several of each of those off the truck. I am really hoping to get my parents one of those Nostalgia thingies. I am crossing my fingers that they are going to be a BF item!!
peachysquirt21 10-9-2006, 11:47 PM I will be goin to our mall on Wednesday. It is connected to our Target so will stop in & see what I can see at ours. :)
tazolover 10-10-2006, 10:56 PM Thank you so much for all those of you posting what you are seeing around Target. It is definitely one of my BF stops every year!
dubbabubba 10-11-2006, 11:31 AM Does anybody know the quality of the TruTech items? Just wondering, I've never really bought this brand before.
disneynutangie 10-11-2006, 2:00 PM I tried to get a raincheck on some girl gift last year and the karate dvd thing and they would not let me. I walked around the store shopping for a few other things and noticed one of the karate dvd things laying on a bottom shelf so I got lucky. Maybe that is my Target not sure.
By the way...have you ever noticed if you ask a question to a worker at any place the morning of black majority of them look at you in confusion? When I asked about the raincheck they had to call 10 million mangers to find out.
peachysquirt21 10-11-2006, 8:23 PM I was at Target today & noticed alot of stuff on the top shelf in electronics. DVD players, VCR's. I went into the toy department & OMG almost every aisle the top shelf is just loaded with stuff. They really had a ton stacked up of the Cabbage Patch Newborns with the infant seat. The top shelf had like 3 or 4 rows stacked up.
jewleyp 10-12-2006, 12:42 AM Perimeter shopping at target is the best year round mini-fix for BF at target!!! Now after reading these treads, I am going tomorrow to scoop out the top shelves!!! I am sooooo excited!!!
Aaron 10-12-2006, 10:11 AM I went to Target a few days ago and saw tons and tons of DVD players by TruTech that were stacked to the ceiling. :)
tazolover 10-12-2006, 10:20 AM Don't even get me started on rainchecks and Target. I'm sure from my ordeal there are some people still licking their wounds and that was when Tickle Me Elmo came out so many moons ago. ;)
My curiousity is peaked and I will have to stop by Target today to see what the 4-1-1 is. I'll let you know if I find out any other items that are stocked to the hilt.
Gazer9757 10-13-2006, 11:34 AM Am planning a similiar look at my Target. Have to hit the toy aisles for birthday presents so I will be bringing pen and paper to capture what I see.
ellen zachariia 10-13-2006, 12:06 PM I was at Target yesterday and they had tons and tons of games ie chutes and laddders, candyland, connect four etc stacked up to the ceiling. Also alot of dora and diego merchandise, barbie and the 12 days of christmas. The games are probally for bf and the other is probally gonna be in their holdiay book
pogiporkchop 10-13-2006, 8:32 PM I've seen that at other stores as well with the Diego merchandise. I like shopping at Target so I will be going to the one I intend to shop at tomorrow.
Cinnamonhuskies 10-13-2006, 10:42 PM Does anybody know the quality of the TruTech items? Just wondering, I've never really bought this brand before.
Just bought one 2 weeks ago when ours died. So far so good, and only $29. Guess they're disposable anymore.:yup:
rogue1230 10-14-2006, 3:56 PM Just went to Target, persued the toy aisl. TONS of Polly pocket set, Doodle bears and doodle monsters ( literally stacked OVER the height of the department sign hung from the ceiling) Ummmm. lot's of CPK babies, Dora by the dozens, games like candy land, chutes etc. Enough Operations to start a pee wee med school and a lot of monoply here and now games.
Stacked all to just about the ceiling tiles!!!!!! you thinking what I am ??
tokanm 10-14-2006, 3:58 PM :giggle:
Hey do you go to the Plainville Target too? I like that one best.
I think it is called a great lands Target or something like that.
The food is cheap there too. Gotta love Target
Trish1298 10-14-2006, 4:01 PM OOO operation, I should get my son that game.

That's where I was today, I did a quicl lap around the perimeter to check the clearance caps, and i checked to toy situation there too. I don't go there BF though, I keep in the bellingham area, everythin is all right there literally between 2 exits
baabnok 10-14-2006, 8:29 PM Our Target stinks about giving out rainchecks. It seems like anything I really want, they won't issue rainchecks on.
Gurnee Al 10-15-2006, 11:54 AM Yep, my target is stacking toys and games on top of the shelves. Also lots of their DVD players and Home Theater systems.
Gator Pam 10-15-2006, 12:25 PM These could be for their big catalog they do before BF though, right?
caramel 10-15-2006, 6:08 PM I recently moved and the one here really sucks about rain checks. But the one in my old neighborhood was great. Just in case you were wondering the good Target is on Bryant Irvin in Fort Worth Texas.
lisa0477 10-16-2006, 8:59 AM I just wanted to say that I saw a few blue box coffee makers on clearence at my Target in FWB, FL
aintstupid 10-16-2006, 9:33 AM thanks for posting! I love Target and all their clearance deals and now I want to check out their BF this year!
jewleyp 10-16-2006, 10:16 PM I just wanted to say that I saw a few blue box coffee makers on clearence at my Target in FWB, FL
I also saw the toasters in the blue boxes on clearance at my target in CO. I scouted the toy section and they have NOTHING on the tops of the shelves. They do not have alot in clearance and the shelves are full. Had I not ever been to target for BF or any holiday shopping, I would think that Christmas was far away.
comm402 10-17-2006, 12:12 AM I was in Target yesterday and the littlest pet shop biggest littlest pet shop sets were stacked so high they looked like they could touch the ceiling ! That was the one thing that really caught my eye but every shelf in the toy section was packed to the rafters with overstock, as well as the shevles being packed, the only thing missing was everyone's favorite Elmo.
amyers12345 10-17-2006, 12:53 AM Target is such a madhouse on BF. The closest one is 40 miles away in a HUGE city. So, I sit down on Thursday and mark everything I want that our local (small-town) Wal-Mart carries. They price-match everything, up to 50 miles, and even though the closest Target is 65 miles away, they are too frazzled to care. I can get everything I want at Wal-Mart. Just be careful with electronics, they all use different generic brands.
mommyto5 10-17-2006, 8:19 AM That would be awesome! I always shop for the kids on BF but I always come home with some great deals for myself! Looks like it will be another great year for that!
Kristi ;)
michelecrockett 10-17-2006, 10:54 AM I went to my local Target yesterday and the toy section was crazy! They had stuff stacked so high it looked dangerous. Among the things there were tons of... Doras house, Diego playsets, Barbie and the 12 princess play sets, Ariels chariot, Doodle bear, Little Mommy dolls, Cabbage patch kids with the changing hair color, magna doodles. I cant remember all of them.

Ok what is up with my Target. They must have a huge storage area in the back. There was nothing on top of any of the shelves in any depts. I walked the whole store. I want to get about half of the items that are listed here. Thank goodness you guys are reporting, so I can kind of know what NOT to buy before BF!!!:cheesy:
disneynutangie 10-19-2006, 12:55 AM Went to target today. Mine here in NC had all the toys mentioned above but I also noticed nobody mention aquadoodles.
AndreaInNC 10-19-2006, 12:40 PM If your Target won't give you a raincheck and the sales flyer doesn't say "no rain checks" call the 800 number for Target and complain.
I had a problem with my local Target (again) about price adjusting and I ended up with a $10.00 GC for my unpleasant experience!
disneynutangie 10-19-2006, 10:04 PM I had a problem with them not price matching on black Friday last year. I was really mad and I have had a problem with no rainchecks on things that never indicated you couldn't have one. I really hate this because I love Target.
Trace70 10-20-2006, 12:11 AM I was SO disappointed in Target last year. I went there specifically for the GBA SP deal only to find out they had only ordered FIVE. Which, of course, were all gone by the time I managed to get back there. :(
Gazer9757 10-20-2006, 9:29 AM I visited my target(Wichita) and noticed board games stacked everywhere!!! Looked mainly Milton Bradley stuff, but also saw the Little petshop and thankfully, Polly Pockets. Looks like they are going to be huge. Electronics haven't started bulking up here yet, or if they have, its behind closed doors.
dmmiller 10-20-2006, 3:10 PM Okay, I just got back from Scoping out the stores. Walmart is keeping a tight wrap on things, has big storage containers outside of lawn & Garden. Wont let anyone out the doors.
Target on the other hand.. was fully stocked.
Here's what I saw. Monopoly, Scrabble, Sorry Life, Scene it (disney & nick. versions), Hullabaloo, memory, doodle (everything) litebrite, mermaid salon, clue, operation, Mall madness V-smile... all stacked up 4-5 high and no less than 4 rows of each.
Then I went to the electronics dept. where I saw Phillips Micro Hi-Fy system (home mp3 player), Trutech cd + Radio, Memory home dvd/cd player (about 50 of these), and about 30+ trutech of dvd home theater systems .
I dont know about you.... but i'm getting excited!!! :D
ChrisKsAngel 10-22-2006, 12:47 AM I love going to my Target and walking around the toy section looking to see what is stacked on the top of the shelves... My husband thinks I am crazy! lol
I think that buying gift cards is a great way to save money for BF. I need to save, and at least maybe with a gift card I will not spend it.
Can't wait for the $5 coffee pot, I sure do need one.
maggies413 10-22-2006, 6:03 PM Hey everyone! I'm new here, but as a Target team member (I run the electronics department of my local store) I can safely say that whats on the risers is not always an indicator of BF deals. It's just general stock for the holiday season, and also does not mean that our back rooms are full. Ours are anything but, but our risers are stacked high, just as they are every year!
As far as rainchecks are concerned, I know at my store, any of the big sale items in the black friday ad we're normally not able to issue rainchecks on. Also, last year, any item that had an As Advertised sign as opposed to a Sale sign was not eligible for a raincheck, but I believe they've changed this policy since. Honestly, there are so many ins and outs to rainchecks that its difficult for the team members to keep track sometimes.
kdspark 10-23-2006, 8:43 AM I was at our local Target in SC yesterday and they were stocking Crockpots(regular and Mainly the huge ones)I lost count after 75,but I have to say they were to the cieling and looked unsafe.

I wouldnt wanna be walking by that stack. LOL I am surprised they would stack someting like that that high.
udratherbme 10-23-2006, 1:48 PM went to the neighborhood target yesterday, the only things they had double stacked were model cars :(
fulfam 10-23-2006, 3:01 PM Our Target has the same toys piled high, lots of board games, lots of dora and diego stuff, etc. The only problem I've ever had with Target was last year on BF I bought a DVD and then when I went home and went to wrap it I noticed that the DVD was loose inside the package you could hear it moving about and I was worried that it would be scratched up, so I took it back to target to get a new one, well customer service tried telling me I didn't buy the DVD there, LOL OK I have a reciept for it and everything but I didn't buy it here? So I argued with her about it, then she had me go get another of the same movie, she rang it up on her register and said I owed her 9.00 for the movie LOL I don't think so. I bought it for 5 something on BF I'm not going to pay you more now. So eventually I said get the manager now because I'm not paying more than I already did. The manager ended up giving me the DVD that wasn't moving around in the box.

 You had a receipt - how could that lady say that 1. you didn't get it there - and 2. you had to pay more??? Doesn't Target push their gift receipts for reasons just like this? I would hope that if any gift I buy at Target doesn't get returned, but if it does, that the gift recipient gets full credit for what ever I purchased.
fulfam 10-23-2006, 10:24 PM No idea how she thought she could say I didn't get it there when I had the reciept lol and how she thought I should pay more than I originally had paid. Ugh! The one thing I hate is customer service people acting like the money is coming out of their pockets.
syberselections 10-24-2006, 10:02 AM As far as stocking items up high on the risers, I believe they put the overstock as far as 9 inches from the ceiling. There may be a red line on the walls around the store.

I'm not positive about this, but I think when someone uses the gift receipt, they get the current selling price, not what it was purchased for. I don't think this is fair and I hope I'm wrong about this.
fulfam 10-24-2006, 9:11 PM BTW it wasn't a gift reciept I used, I had my original reciept for the DVD.

They get the full price that the gift giver paid, but they get it back on a gift card or even exchange.
MandaJo111 10-29-2006, 9:23 AM The gift receipts have bar codes just like the regular ones do. They simply scan the receipt and they are able to give back the amount the gift giver spent -- or exchange for the same item if there was a defect.
caramel 11-1-2006, 11:51 AM When I was at the one by my work in Cityplace yesterday I saw them unloading tons of Disney Pixar's Cars TV/DVD 13" on the shelves. I asked the about it and he said that they're $149.99 right now but will go on sale next week. But since they're putting up so many I'm thinking this might go really cheap for BF? Here are the specs

anne0867 11-2-2006, 5:12 PM Hey everyone!
Any item considered "seasonal", including Black Friday items, are not rain checkable. These items are considered "one time purchase" type items and Target may not to get any more in. Alot of times, these items are auto-shipped and can not be ordered at the store level. IF, you are nice to the team members up at guest service, and they have not been "frazzled" by unruly guests, alot of times, they will print you a "store merchandise location" slip. They may even go as far as calling a store for you, if the lines art short. **Please note, the stores may not be able to hold an item for you, but can tell you if it is stock**
Alot of "as advertised" items are just advertised items in the sale ads. It does not mean they are on sale.
I can tell you though, shop right before closing on Wedensday! Items will start being placed out on the sales floor. They will be at regular price though. You can get an adjustment on Black Friday for these items.
Target's holiday hours start Nov 19th, they will be open 1 hour later.
ChrisKsAngel 11-2-2006, 9:00 PM My Target is really bad about making you have your receipt. I had a friend who had a baby registry with Target and wanted to return some of the stuff she got. She had a copy of the registry, but no receipts. They offered her store credit, but at the current price and some of the items they would not take back at all!
So save those receipts!
caramel 11-3-2006, 11:11 AM This is a little off topic but do you mind telling us why your friend something she got from her registry? Did she get duplicates and they didn't count them off or something?
firestone71 11-3-2006, 1:40 PM about the toys book...can't get it. get the page with the book cover but when i click on it get a wrong address or page no longer available.:(
for those of you that did see it were there any dora items listed? specifically the dora talking house.! looking for a great deal on it! thought it would drop because of the dora castle! i would really appreciate any feedback!!!!!:fluffy:
thanks
sorry wrong thread would remove but do not know how too!!
marloween34 11-3-2006, 1:46 PM Target does not price match, but does issue rain checks. I found a few items last year that had quickly sold out. I found an employee and asked very nicely about a rain check. He gave me one. He mentioned that if an item is in stock and sold out on the shelves, they don't restock until that night after closing. Even if they have the item in the stockroom! Seems like a bad idea, but oh well. Best of luck to us all!:D
jonsgirl327 11-3-2006, 7:19 PM The disney "Cars" TV is on ad for next week. That is why they have a bunch. We actually dont get our black friday items until the week of Thanksgiving.
maggies413 11-3-2006, 7:57 PM He mentioned that if an item is in stock and sold out on the shelves, they don't restock until that night after closing.
That's definitely not true. We move stock out by the pallet, even in the middle of Black Friday crowds. That'd be thousands upon thousands of dollars in lost sales if we didn't.

And can you tell us what the sale price is for next weeks ad ????? Please Please
lisa0477 11-3-2006, 10:37 PM Oh that is cute. :fluffy:
I don't know about anyone else's area, but I put this car's tv on layaway at Walmart, they were $98 reg price there. Isn't that crazy!
megnsamsgrace 11-4-2006, 2:39 AM That was probably just the TV... the TV with the DVD player are going for about $150! Hoping cheaper with this weeks sale! I Soooo want to get one for my son!
christmasangel 11-4-2006, 3:30 PM I was at the Target in Amherst NY today and the place where I saw major overstock was home appliances. Lots of coffee pots, toaster ovens, microwaves etc... They were stacked on TOP of the asiles to the ceiling- it was scarey looking- they did not look safe! LOL
lisa0477 11-9-2006, 12:47 AM That was probably just the TV... the TV with the DVD player are going for about $150! Hoping cheaper with this weeks sale! I Soooo want to get one for my son!
I am going to get it in a few days, but on the box it said DVD combo, I even asked the clerk if that price was right and she said yes, another lady was purchasing it also. I hope it really is both, I swear that is what it said. I will let you know as soon as I get it off layaway which one it is. I am glad you said something so I will double check now!
maggies413 11-9-2006, 7:09 AM It is the tv/dvd player combo.

likewhoa 11-10-2006, 6:50 PM I was in Target last night and noticed a TON of things stacked high on the risers that normally aren't there. Like about sixty sewing machines and our Target normally only has three in stock, if any at all. A ton of crockpots, microwaves, a vaccum cleaner, etc. I don't remember the brands or what else was there but did notice that this was how the Target was set up last year prior to BF. I'm excited to see what else they add in the next week. I'm dying for the ad!
sherril 11-10-2006, 7:01 PM I'm excited to see what else they add in the next week. I'm dying for the ad!
me too even more so now that Walmarts BF ad was a bust!

Trish1298 11-10-2006, 7:16 PM It's gotta be soon.

I am hoping to find a good crockpot either BF or another deal somewhere so maybe Target. :holiday08
MICKEY3601 11-10-2006, 11:02 PM I am hoping that Target will have good BF sales since WM & BB didn't really have anything worth while. Can't wait to see the ad!!! :)
Amyz00 11-10-2006, 11:08 PM I wish that the Target BF ad was here!!! I have reviewed all of the other ads and everything, toy wise, seems to be for toddlers this year. I sure hope that the Target BF ad is better than the rest of them! I hit Target every BF, get my Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte/Frappachino and hit the aisles!!
dachad01 11-10-2006, 11:56 PM In regards to the Target pallets, were they out on the floor? Depending on what time you were out to the store. If you were at the store like after dinner time, it could have been that they were doing trailer unload because their trucks now drop at like 5 or 6 pm instead of doing it overnight. I work for a Target and thats what our store is doing this year is doing their trailer unloads at night instead of overnight, I think in an effort to get more people hired to work freight because Target moved to a 4 am freight start time a few years ago and I think they want to maintain that schedule.
lisa0477 11-12-2006, 12:32 AM I am not happy with any of the toys this year. I hope Target does have some good sales. I can't believe Walmart at all.
