I really didn think people shopped @<hidden> hardware stores on BF, but i really had a reallity check last year, HD had a genie ladder for 119, being a new homeowner and needing the ladder i was going to make it one of my stops but only after the wife took care of what she had to do for the kids, I showed up there around 10 maybe 11 and the guy told me that they had about 100 ladders and they sold out in 10 - 15 mins..........:(

Does anyone know if they will have a deal on countertops or carpet? I need both!

I doubt they'll have any special deals on those, but this summer I acutally pricematched Homeexpo (HD company) with HD for a granite countertop. (offer was 15 or 20% off, got additional 10% off lowest price and my countertops ended up cheaper than corian.) They tried to fight me, but I had all my printouts, LOL) I won!!!!

Carpets: They usually have those on sale to frequently to give extra discounts on BF. Make sure you check the current sales.. You could always try to PM if its area rugs.

Good luck with the renovation :-)

I pays to have the printouts. I love HD and Lowes PM policy. They match, plus take 10% off. If they both have the same item, I go to the one who has the higher price, and then buy it 10% cheaper after the PM.

PS Off topic, but Lowes does have carpet in their BF ad.

Yes, the TVs actually started arriving at the stores on Tuesday, some as late as today depending on what part of the country you are in. The TVs were shrink-wrapped on pallets with bright pink "DO NOT SELL, RESERVED FOR BLACK FRIDAY" signs on them. Store employees in Georgia, Washington, and a few other states have mistakenly disregarded those and are selling them early. Good luck. I got my coupon on ebay.

I went to HD tonight and they did not have any TVs out but the guy said they sold some
42" HDTV Plasma Magnavox yesterday for $1499. He said they were not supposed to and would not be putting them back out until BF and said they might be cheaper than that on BF.

rb1963

THD has 42" HDTV plasma ($1499) and 50" HDTV plasma ($1999). You do not have to wait for BF to buy it. The store may have been out of it. Only limited supplies are being sent to stores.

I work at HD. We've had the 42" plasma since Labor Day in our store, it's $1499. Don't think it's going down for BF, but I could be wrong. We also got in a different 42" model and a 50" model, I know that 50" plasma is $1999, not sure about the 2nd 42" model. All are Magnavox.

We have a 32" coming for BF, actually all stores have it already but not all have theirs out. Corporate sent a memo down that it was manager choice as to whether they'd put their BF stuff out early or not - I know some stores in my area already have some of theirs out. My store does not. The store closest to mine is already out of the 32" TV flat screen (it's $478) and they sent someone over to my store today to get one, but ours are still on a pallet in Receiving.

We actually got quite a few electronics this year, as strange as it seems. We have a projection Tv for $999 that is pretty cool.

Just a word of advice. Check over the rebate form they give you carefully. I know of at least three people personally that got something from Home Depot that was supposed to have a rebate and they were given the incorrect paperwork. Of course no one bothered to tell them this until after the rebate time had expired so it couldn't be corrected and calls to corporate yielded nothing. Just wanted to give y'all a heads up. I don't want anyone to be disappointed. :)

The one on the 3rd page is a reagularly stocked item, the second one isn't. The first has a 1/2" chuck with 450 in-lb of torque. The second has a 3/8" chuck with I think around 300 in-lbs of torque. Also the first one with the light was a special buy from last month so it could be tough to find in certain areas, normally just the drill is $209.

I have been using this TV for about 3 days now (granted as a computer monitor) and it's ok. The standard cable picture is ok too, for the price. There is a noticeable difference in quality of one of these vs. a Sony of course, but it makes a great bedroom or 2nd TV.

From my experience as a manufacturers rep who calls on a large amount of Home Depots, they seem to have a woefully short supply of most of the good items. If I remember correctly from last year alot of the items are mistakenly put on the sales floor early by inept HD employees and are actually sold out before BF. Because I know alot of the prices of items in the dept. that I work with, I can tell you that alot of the items listed in the sale ad are everyday prices with a few deals sprinkled throughout.

I know I sound jaded and bitter, but dealing with such a poorly run company(Home Depot) on a daily basis for work has made me this way. Fortunately Lowe's also sells a good deal of my company's products, so I refer people there whenever possible.

I was wondering if anyone went for these last year? I am prego with twins and the thought of trying to get that thing in my vehicle that day just doesn't sit well. I was wondering if it would fit in a car (backseat) or if I need to scam the truck from my hubby.

Was also wondering if you can buy things at home depot and go back later to pick them up. So if I bought the ladder in the am then had a friend come later with a truck to help me pick it up.

I saw it online for the same price this morning, but of course it didn't qualify for the free shipping because of the weight.

Wonder if they have a lot of them?

Our Home Depot will let you do that. When we bought our gas grill, it was assembled so we had to come back with a truck to get it home. They gave us a slip before leaving that we showed them when we came back to pick it up.

A local HD in my area had their TVs out lasts week and sold out of them. Too stupid to read the huge flourescent pink signs on the pallets that said BLACK FRIDAY ONLY. My store didn't put ours out until after the store closed Wednesday night in preparation for today.

We have a new Home Depot and when my Hubby went to get the Christmas Tree at about 9:15 they still had 2 of the TVs at our store. That is probably only because a lot of people don't know about the store being open yet. Although it has been open for a couple months.

In my experience as a vendor calling on retail stores including home depot. Home Depot is BY FAR the poorest run, most ass backwards, non caring, understaffed retail chain out there. If there is worse out there I have not had the experience of doing business with them. Home Depot is not the same company it was 5-10 years ago.

He was probably stammering because they were probably bought by employees before BF. That's what happened at my sister's store. By law I guess they are required to have one on the floor. Don't think its right but it happens. She said the Managers bought them. :(

I have a Lowe's coupon for $10 off $25 and there's a wet/dry vac I want from the Depot. Anyone know if they accept competitor coupons?

We accept competitor's coupons at my HD.

in Fayetteville NC hOme depot I called the day prior to BF and customer service said they had between 15 and 20 of the 32 inch tvs for 479. when I got inside( i was about the 10th person) they didn't have any at all ..salesperson told me that never got any in... customer service said different????!!! hmmmm I wonder who was right... so I bought a 42 inch for 1488 with coupon...but I may take it back AAFES IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A LCD TV AROUND 32 INCHES FOR $279 TODAY SO I'M GOING TO CHECK IT OUT....oh and is the picture supposed to be better on a plasma..thats what I got at Home Depot but the pic may actually be a little worse than my 6 year old tube tv???
