jellybean051901 9-21-2006, 5:29 AM The last time I went in a KB Toys on BF it was a madhouse. The store was too small for all the people there. The checkout line was backed down the aisles so you couldn't get through to look
KB Toy's had great deals when they were here but our only mall location closed a few years ago. :(
blakes_mommy 9-21-2006, 10:11 AM I was running with the bulls last year getting into KB. The workers didn't help you at all but I was lucky enough to find what I needed. I plan to hit there again, especially for Barbies!
AndreaInNC 9-21-2006, 10:52 AM I avoid this store regardless of the deals because of their lack of crowd control. The mall should only allow them to have XX amount of shoppers in the store at one time IMHO .. fire hazard waiting to happen
ccarson1972 9-21-2006, 11:00 AM KB Toy's had great deals when they were here but our only mall location closed a few years ago. :(
Same here. Although I never went there for BF. I used to take the ad to TRU when they used to price match on BF. Last year our mall opened up KB Toys just for the Christmas holiday season, but I'm not sure if it was there for BF.

Same here, we didn't got there either - on Black Friday the line was CRAZYY! I wasn't even going to attempt to go there. :eyepoppin
Edgemonster 9-21-2006, 7:56 PM Sometimes they do only let so many people in at once. It depends on the manager. I worked for KB for 3 years and one year on BF we opened at 5:30 and the only workers that showed up were the manager, asst manager and me and that's when the manager only let 15 or 20 people in at a time. She guarded the gate and even though people had to wait to get in no one complained because it was quick and easy to get in and out.
shopping mom 9-21-2006, 9:42 PM KB was organized here last year, You entered in a line and it was set up to be one way. You went through the entire store isle by isle and ended at the register.
sky_scraper123 9-22-2006, 11:59 PM I agree, they did an awesome job last year, I wish they had larger stores in my area though.
Mary
laffnatu 9-23-2006, 6:09 PM Our KB store closed a few years ago. :(
It sucked to be there on BF. There was always a line halfway down the mall and the stores are always so small.
bugsette 9-23-2006, 6:16 PM we don't have any around here they all closed... I liked them
Spotted1 9-24-2006, 5:17 PM Does KB Toys have a sale all day long on BF.. or do they just do the Early Bird/Door Busters sale? The closest one is almost 2 hours away, so there's no way I'd be able to hit their door busters, but if they have a sale all day long, then I'd be more willing to check them out.

They have a sale all day, as alot of the stores do, but when they were in my area they offered some great deals in the early morning (e.g., 5 a.m.)
Also, last year they offered $25 bonus cards for every $100 purchase.
I have never been to KB on BF. I may have to check it out.

That was my first and last experience on BF with them!:cheesy:
dajulkrin 9-30-2006, 2:44 PM Doesn't your Walmarts, Meijers, Targets match prices???
Ours do in Fort Wayne, that makes it really great, because you can have your game plan ready and go to one of the 24hr. stores and get the stuff from others ads and then wait for them to unwrap the door buster items.
Your just have to carry your ads with you and you sure don't want to set them down in your cart cause they will be gone.
elena_398 10-1-2006, 11:50 AM Im bummed as I used to go to KB Toys every BF. Last year after BF, they closed our mall location. So no KB Toys around me anymore
rogerss2 10-4-2006, 5:07 PM They shut down most of the KB stores near me. But the ads are still in the paper. If you take the KB toy ad to Walmart or ToysRUs they will match price, and you don't have to stand in the small KB stores forever.

:g_shrug: I'm not sure if our Walmart would price match a KB Toys ad or not .... The nearest KB Toys is almost 2 hours away. Last year I was under the impression that in order to price match, it had to be an ad from a store that was local to the store you're trying to price match at. If that's not the case, it could be worth the try.
Actually, just about anything could be 'worth the try' in the name of a good deal :P
mar0044 10-5-2006, 7:51 AM The KB Toys by us opens at 12 midnight,at least for the last two years. People started lining up around 10. It was really orginized, but it did take about an hour in line to checkout. Everything was mostly buy one get one. Hopefully they'll have that again...

Im not sure if they would match prices or not being that far away. Fort Wayne has a lot of Stores trying to get your business. I would call them now and see what there policy is before the ads start coming out.
AndreaInNC 10-5-2006, 12:27 PM The problem with KB Toys is that their doorbusters are usually stuff that the other stores don't carry. Back in the day when TRU price matched, that's what I always ran into ..

I'm up for travel, but I think Fort Wayne just might be a little too far for this Kentuckian, even in the name of a good deal. :lmao:
SuperMommy 10-11-2006, 5:56 PM FYI for all those sad that their location closed most of the stores closed b/c KB Toys has been in bankruptcy. They have been doing horrible. DH worked their until August of last year. They went through a period were they sgut down alot of stores, and were working alot of things to try to get out of bankruptcy.
lisa0477 10-15-2006, 1:11 AM I went last year and got the buy one get one fisher price items. I hope they do it again this year. You just have to be careful on the prices because a lot of the toys cost more there.
kimmie1995x2 10-17-2006, 9:09 AM I go to KB every year on BF. At the location I go to, it is one of the more organized stores and I enjoy going every year. I am in and out within 30 minutes!
amyers12345 10-19-2006, 1:06 AM Our mall location closed last year and I miss their clearance. I went once on BF and you couldn't move. They handed you a trash bag at the door to drag your stuff around in, but you couldn't even squeeze through the aisles to find anything. Luckily, the line snaked through the whole store, so you could grab what you wanted whenever you and your trash bag reached it.
Kay1996 10-19-2006, 8:39 AM Ours closed here to  I went one BF and it was INSANE!!! It was my first bf and I thought this is nuts what am I doing out here at 4:30am!! But the rest of the day was great so started a tradition!!
comm402 10-23-2006, 8:16 AM I got lucky one year on BF, I went to KB late in the afternoon and all of their DB's were still ringing up at the price they advertised from 5am - 7am !! The manager said they didn't have as many people as they anticipated and needed to get rid of stock. I'll never get that lucky again.
peachysquirt21 10-23-2006, 9:06 AM Our KBToys close over a year ago. It was on our mall. I never liked going there cause the store wash just too small. I can't imangine what it be like on BF.
I checked there website to see if they had any stores in MN & there all gone. They have 1 outlet store in MN & that's it.

LOL that's what I went through at a KB last year.
sbwolfer 10-30-2006, 3:52 PM My local KB does a great job. They are located in a mall and store is very small. You have to wait in line outside the store and the section is roped off to keep people from cutting. Workers hand out adds to look at while you wait. All of the aisles are blocked so you walk up and down each one and shop. Technically you are in the register line from the time you enter the store. They have workers to grab items for you that you may not be able to get to while you wait. They were very organized, no problems, and GREAT deals. I pick up a lot of stuff to donate while shopping there!
peekaboo 11-1-2006, 3:25 PM My KB is a small one in our mall and I have always heard horror stories about it as well. Me and my mother decided to be brave and go there for 2 things that I wanted for my daughter. To my surprise when we got there I thought they were not going to be opening because we were actually the first people there. In all my years (more than 10) that I have went out for BF I was never first in line. Well they were nice and did let us in the mall and stand outside the store for the last 45 minutes. They were very well organized. They only let so many people in at a time and gave you a bag at the door. As someone else said you were suppose to walk a line though the whole store but being that the few things I needed were behind the register I just went right to the register and was in and out in about 15 minutes. While in line I actually seen a really nice Brartz Karokee machine for $40 and ended up with that as well. So my experience with them was actually a good one. And yes by the time they let us in the mall there was a line behind me.
g-man430 11-1-2006, 4:28 PM Why are all these KB Toys closing at malls now? Ours did the same last year. The odd thing is they seemed to always do good business.
sleepyshopper 11-1-2006, 6:05 PM You can get some really great deals at KBs, but the lines are ridiculous.....Best thing to do is be one of the first ones in and get what you need and get out before everyone else gets in line.

our walmart only price matches stores within a certain mileage too:(
amyers12345 11-2-2006, 10:46 PM ours matches within 50 miles... the city is exactly 50 miles away, so most stores are futher, but they never care. And if you catch them when they are so busy on BF, they don't have time to argue!!
johjstc 11-3-2006, 11:05 AM I have no problems with mileage. one parking lot has walmart, officemax, dicks, and bed bath and beyond. Across the street we have best buy, target and babies r us and toyrus. Right down the road we have Kmart, the mall and Home depot. Many other stores on the strip too.

aerosmithgirl 11-5-2006, 10:02 PM Thank you very much!!
tazolover 11-5-2006, 10:36 PM Thank you for the BF info everyone! Does anyone know if these deals are available online as well? There are a couple great deals, but not worthy of the madhouse our KB Toys is on BF!
elena_398 11-5-2006, 10:43 PM Im going to have KB withdrawals. This will be the first year I don't have one. Our mall store closed up after christmas last year. Wonder if Walmart will price match on anything they have even though the one closed up by me. I still sometimes get their ad as there is one about an hour away.
http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/Sales/Store/kbtoys
EmConMom 11-6-2006, 12:28 AM I hope I have time to hit KBToys on BF. I really like that store, but they are VERY small, definetly not a store I would want to be stuck in for a long time.
Melissa 11-6-2006, 6:40 AM We no longer have a KBToys nearby, but the ad doesn't look that great to me anyway. I just skimmed it quickly, but I did notice that two things I want are "on sale" for their regular selling price. And B2G1F on the Fisher-Price toys isn't that great. How about B1G1F???
naillady4jm 11-6-2006, 7:14 AM Thank you for the BF info everyone! Does anyone know if these deals are available online as well? There are a couple great deals, but not worthy of the madhouse our KB Toys is on BF!
I was wondering if they will, will be on vacation and won`t be near any
kalle1212 11-6-2006, 9:21 AM That ad sucks. Whats up with buy 2 fisher price get one free?
migirlfriday 11-6-2006, 12:05 PM The Hot Wheels Radar Gun they have listed for 19.99 on BF is at Walmart right now for $20.
:eyepoppin
Edit: Also, isn't the Nintendo DS Lite already priced at $129.99. Are they just putting it in their ad so we know they have it?
amez74 11-6-2006, 12:09 PM yeah I'm wanting 2 nintendo ds lites and the ad has them for the same price that everywhere else has everyday. bummer--hopefully someone will have a good sale on them
mongoose 11-6-2006, 12:44 PM Do they have the BF prices online or just in stores? Ours closed but I think ther eis another one in Orlando?daytona beach somewhere. gawd it was HORRIBLE last time
gregus28 11-6-2006, 1:07 PM Anyone have any idea what the idisco docking station looks like and does it work with an ipod/nano?
DaisyPug 11-6-2006, 3:06 PM I can't seem to find the "select GBA and Nintendo DS games" that are on sale. When I click the link it takes me to a search page with Barbie items.
But WOW, $15 bucks! And KB doesn't sale used games. I hope they're worth driving an hour for! :tired:
Not impressed at all. I don't have one too near me anymore but now I know not to bother making the extra trip. :(
I have 2 near me but see no reason to go from that ad...
Is that the same Juice box TRU has had on clearance for over a year?
I thought about the hot wheels radar gun, but will it work on full size vehicles? :)
Reminds me of WM's supposed "clearance" items....to me a $120 item is NOT clearanced when it drops to $112..... just as $5 off is NOT a BF sale :/
wright1baby 11-6-2006, 6:40 PM Anyone know if these prices are good at KB outlet? That's all we have around here and it's 45 minutes away. What about online?? Thanks!
Anyone know if these prices are good at KB outlet? That's all we have around here and it's 45 minutes away. What about online?? Thanks!
KB Outlets typically do not match the full retail store promotions. Our outlet has BIG signs on the doors letting you know that before you even walk in the store!!! They will, however, have their own BF sale on things they carry in the outlet. I have found decent stocking stuffers there. Also a good place to look for discontinued items.
wright1baby 11-6-2006, 8:21 PM Maybe I will just give it a shot ONLINE. All I really want is the speed stacks for $19.99. I need two of them, but I have a feeling that 45 minutes out of the way, I ill be missing out on a lot of other DEALS!
Thanks
brownlands 11-7-2006, 7:53 PM I'm not impressed with that ad. Guess thats good since the two KB toys that were near us have both closed.
my3bellas 11-9-2006, 12:28 AM I went to kbtoys for years and each and every year it got worse. No organization and the employees didn't help. I am glad my kids are getting older and my youngest doesn't like elmo. I stopped going 2 years ago because 2 women were fighting and spat at each other. Gross....
yogiyb 11-12-2006, 6:54 AM For several years, our Galleria mall has had a "Rock & Shop Midnight Sale" where the stores are open from midnight to 4:30. Close 30 minutes to regroup and then the "official" BF begins including all the anchor stores. How this relates to KB is that KB would be open for the earliest part and the mall would be able to start the Early Bird line and control it.
Not so this year, new mall management this year and the mall will not open until 5! Mind you the R&S was very successful - the Galleria is AL largest mall and the parking lot would be full by 3am - - -lots of people would sit in the food court (which was open), do some light shopping and wait for the big bang. (Hallmark has ornaments 20% off which was where I would go).
KB's managment is reportedly livid about the change as the Early Bird sale at 5am had become somewhat manageable. All bets are off now and we are back to where we were 5 years ago, only BF mania has only increased.
GreenHornet 11-15-2006, 4:13 PM I have 2 near me but see no reason to go from that ad...
Is that the same Juice box TRU has had on clearance for over a year?

Does anyone know any details about the Hot Wheels Toy Radar Gun? How far away it works, what speed ranges, does it set off radar detectors (use same frequencies as police radar)? $20 is a super price if it works as well as some of the sports radar guns available, like for measuring the speed of baseball pitches, etc.
A friend has a problem with speeders on the twisty road in front of his house. more than one of them has ended up in his front yard. He has wanted an inexpensive radar gun to hide along side the road in front of his house, and have it trigger a camera to capture the car and license plate number, and possibly post the pix on a web site. if the hot wheels unit works well enough, this could be the answer.
Thanks,
John
I saw in the KB toys ad that " iDisco Docing Station for $19.99" . What is that? Is it ipod docking station? If it is a ipod docking staiton i would like to buy for that my son.
Can anyone know about this
Thank you
jarerice 11-23-2006, 6:55 PM There was no ad in my paper for KB Toys!!!!!
