A little birdie told me that Meijer already has their Christmas ad. I don't know if it is the holiday gift guide that's good throughout the holiday shopping season, or if it's another special one. I'm trying to find out more about this, but if anyone finds out something before me I'd like to hear about it :)

I've never shopped on a Meijer's on BF.... I love Meijer's... are they any good that day?

What's nice about Meijers is they usually have good stuff on Thanksgiving and people forget they are open LOL.

Well Yes the sales are awesome on both Tukey Day & Black Friday.My only problem was they didn't tell you what part of the store to form the lines.All electronics were given out at layaway Black friday.People formed a line & people walked up from the otherside without waiting & got the items they were in short supply of.Met a friend who helped grab electronics for me since I was short.People who stuck to the line got nothing.:(

Meijer is definitely a good place to start your shopping as it's open on Thanksgiving... gives you a chance to scope out the scene for BF while getting good deals that day. As for lines, it's form then swarm no matter what store you go in. The ones I'm familiar with I've seen people right at the doors to the back and the poor managers - or whoever is bringing the pallets out - can't even get out. I worked there very briefly a few years ago, and my brother works there now so I'm well familiar with the goings on. And since we don't really do anything for Turkey Day (my in-laws are all overseas) we usually go to Meijer for a while just to look around and get some fresh air.

I hope my brother doesn't have to work BF so he can go with me and I can get his discount... :D

Meijers did have a lot of good deals last year, the main one was the Sony PSP 20% off, the xbox 360 is older than the psp was, hopefully they'll do it again!

I have had tons of luck at Meijers BF in the past, also, they have good Thanksgiving day sales as well!

I love shopping at Meijer's on black Friday and thanksgiving day. Last year on thanksgiving it was swamped--they had digital cameras on sale and ipods--I think the ipods were $99 and you sent your receipt in and got a $50 gift card. I wish I had gotten them last year. Hopefully this year they'll have ipods on sale again.

I think sometimes that Meijer's Thanksgiving day sales are just as good as the BF sales. I used to work there and would always work overnight into the morning on Thanksgiving day so that I could have off on BF. The best part was that I would be clocking out at the time the sales started on Thanksgiving day , so I would get in on all their great deals before they were sold out!

This weeks ad has coupons for $ off on specific days for example

i love meijers i cant wait for their add to come out there open on thanksgiving and have good deals even on groceries and since there open 24 hrs you can go i early and get the sale stuff (except the big stuff) you just cant check out until the time the sale starts

I love Mejier as well it is one of the stores I frequent alot because of good Deals on food and Such Although they used to have good Super Saterday sales it has gone downhill the past year I am not aware of any BF Sales going on there but if they do I hope it is as good as it was on Grand Opening Day !!!!!!!!!!:fluffy:

They have to be the most organized store for BF sales. And with them being open all night, you can go in and keep warm. However, if you need more then one item, you probably will need to have someone to help ya there. Last year hubby went and found that there were lines forming for each item. He picked the best line to wait in though and waited there from 1 am on.. and was first in that line. That was for a normally 180.00 west coast chopper bike for our son. It only cost us 25.00 on that day. The other item we wanted for our daughter, he could not get due to it being gone by the time he got done waiting on the bikes. We were pleased to get that bike though. Our son went nuts Christmas morning! So it was worth it! :D

Yes they are good on BF. They will match other stores ads so you can take the ads and buy all your goodies in one place as long as they have them. You have to have the competitors ad though.

You got very lucky! There were hardly any of those in the store. Customers were haggling over it. There were only 2 in the green, (which is what our son wanted) and hubby got one of them. The others were red and I think there were only like 5 of them, can't remember for sure but it was something like that. They were trying just before this to clearance them out. So decided to BF sale them. No matter what, I'm glad they did. Was the hardest item to hide till the holiday's but we did it!

Last year, someone on here gave me a link to the Thanksgiving day ad and it really really worked out for me. I got an IPOD shuffle for $100 with a $50 rebate. I was so happy! I can't wait to see this year's ad!

Last year was the first time I went to Meijer for their Thanksgiving Day sale. They put all the big stuff in the back of the store, in the area where there's usually futons, table sets, etc, and it was roped off until 5 AM. I got there right at 5:00 and it was madness. I couldn't even find the one thing I wanted (can't even remember now what that was). But I picked up some good deals, like a $1 gallon of milk, $5 Aggravation board game, and a 60 cent 2-liter or something like that. It was just for the experience, and played as a warm-up to BF.

I talked to someone at the customer service desk.She told me that the Thanksgiving sale is supposed to be better then the Bf sale.

I LOVE Meijer's sales on Thanksgiving and on BF. That is where we did almost all our shopping last year. I'm really hoping they'll have the deals again this year...so far, I'm not thrilled with any of the BF sales I've seen.

our Meijer changes the location of BF items every year! It's so frustraiting!!! Some years they have everything in the back and bring it out at 5am...and it's always a different back door that the stuff comes out of...some years the stuff is already out, but covered and guarded...

Well I will be taking a trip to Mejers turkey day. They have some GOOD sales that day. Iwas not too impressed with friday sales, but im looking for odd items this year. The bb gun and drill thursday work GREAT for me. Theplaydoh thenext day, but I will pricematch at walmart. I guess I'll be shopping early Thursday & Friday! I have been waiting on a Lego deal and the BOGO is just to great to pass up. Star Wars Legos is the main thing on my 2 DS's list!

i dont know about anyone else, but my friends and family go out every year about 2 am and go to meijers becasue you dont have to wait in those long lines outside with no bathroom, and because they alot of times will put out the items early on the floor, you go find what you are looking for and place it in your buggy and stand around talking to everyone until the 5 am time and get in line quick and outta the store and onto the next!!!!!

All i can say is WOW a 42 inch plasma for $499.00 thats better than any other deal out there. I just hope i can be lucky enough to get one as i am sure there won't be too many sets per store

Does anyone know Meijers policy on buying something now and getting a price adjustment on Thanksgiving or BF?

Is the TV HD ready? Or does anyone know more about the deal? 500 dollars is a greattttttt price.

The 42" plasma is not HD compatible It is a standard monitor
The resolution is 852x480, which looks decent on a computer screen that's only 15"-19", but at 42" it will be a bit grainy.

The picture quality will be about as good as the older projection tv's around 50". :yuck:

But if you are looking for a 42" standard tv it is a decent price :)

Last year my rebate took 3 1/2 months to get from Meijer.

Is the Kodak 6.1 camera from Meijer the same as the one from BB? That one is $10 more, but also comes with the free case correct? Does Meijer offer shopping online? What about price-matching?

I looked at their ad out curiosity and Meijer has the best BF ad hands down.:yup: I'm very impressed and wish the national chains would at least try and compete. This being the exception most other ads are lame this yr. Too bad I'm nowhere close to one. :(

Meijers does price adjust for Thanksgiving but not sure about the rebates. In regards to the 42" monitor. I saw it on display last night at Meijer and the picture is not great. It is like the old rear projection TVs. Lots of glare and kind of dark. I was excited about it but will not be buying one now.

I agree Meijer has the best ads this year! (so far) There are several things that I want Thursday and Friday. I usually have pretty good luck getting what I want there. Did anyone get the ipod nano last year? I was wondering how long it took to recieve the $50 gift card.

Speaking of gift cards, has anyone been getting checkout coupons for use on purchase of them? I got a PS2 today and the lady who rung me up asked if I'd like the coupons ($5 off purchase of a $50 GC). YES, I WANT THEM! :D That's extra money in my pocket, and I got yet another coupon upon purchase of the GC ($3 off a $25 GC). I will be going into BF with quite a few GC in my pockets...

I was just reading the Meijers stuff everyone was commenting on. We have 2 Meijers stores here in Lexington, Ky. And, the good thing is they also have one back home in Anderson,Indiana where my family live. Which means if I buy something here, I can send the receipt and they can return it if necessary.
I have to work the day after Thanksgiving, but I will probably go out after getting off work, since I can see what was so popular. The good thing is, working in a restaurant, I can find out that morning what my customers thought were a good deal. Most of them shop then eat anyways. ;)

The sale is called "WHY wait for Thanksgiving sale"
There is nothing I need but There are some GREAT deals like 50% off a couple of bikes, $9.99 for a leapfrog learn and grove drum, and a spongebob squarepants tv/dvd combo for $74.99.

I used the $30 off on the PSP on Saturday. I paid 169.00. Meijer was also giving away a free 19.99 game with the PSP core unit purchase. So I received the game and PSP for that price. I am very happy. They let me return return the free game yesterday for full price and I used to buy the game my son wanted.

Those are coupons in a small booklet Meijer put out for Nov 5-18. A coupon each day for toys and for electronics. Mine came in a Sunday newspaper (Nov 4). I plan on using the $20 off GBA which is for tomorrow (11/17) only. :)

So if you buy that 42" Plasma today you should be able to get the credit next Thursday morning. The bad part is that it costs $1449.00 today, the good part is extra credit card reward points. If you are willing to gamble then go pick it up today.

Just to let everyone know, I work at Meijer (Service Desk mostly and occasionally as a cashier) and the Meijer I work at is doing price matching the day after Thanksgiving. I'm not sure if it is a corporate wide thing or not, so if anyone is interested I would call the store you are planning on going to and ask to speak to the Store Director and ask them if they are price matching on on Blasck Friday. That way you can go @<hidden> like 3 in the morning, load your cart and then be ready to check out @<hidden> like 5 or so (at least thats what I'm planning on doing!). Hope this helps :)

Wow, I didnt speak to a manager, but asked 3 different employees, and eash said no go on the Thanksgiving deal. :mad:

Thanks for the info. I am glad you are sharing your knowledge because this is a gift for my mom and I want to get her something with a good picture but also trying to find a good deal too. It is not a good deal if the picture is not good. Another thing I noticed with it is the picture is kind of dark and there is a glare like on the old rear projection TVs. Is that normal for plasmas? She doesnt need the best clarity like some want for gaming, etc. but I would like to get her a good picture in the $800-900 range. Any suggestions? Do you know the specs on the 37" LCD Meijers is going to have?

Sylvania 37" 720P (great picture ) is HD, is very bright (you can see it in the sunlight, but still better to have a dimly lit room as with all lcd's) and for $699 after rebate is a great deal. ($100 cheaper than the comparable 37" at best buy).

I'd be getting it if I still lived by a meijers :)

I tried around noon today and it is VERY slow-they are getting slammed. Just use the link here on Gottadeal-it's much quicker.
The more people plan though, the tougher it will be to get the bargains.

I went today and got some great toy deals :) A nice warm-up for the main event.

Since this will be my first time shopping there on BF myself. I'm gonna take the ads with me. Just incase I find somethings there that I want from another store and can't make it in enough time to get them. It's going to be different for me not having to freeze for the first time. Last year hubby went here, I froze at BB. :gdchatter:

I called and ask our Meijer if they price matched on Thursday and they said they did. They will just "return" what we bought and we could "rebuy" it at the sale price.

You're probably right. Getting it beforehand and then price adjusting or returning the item takes all the fun out of BF shopping - at least for me. I look at it this way: if what I want is there then it's meant for me, and if not then not a big deal.

The best thing to do is ask a MANAGER when you go tomorrow. I had the 8" kitchen LCD in my hand and asked her if it went on sale fri. (its in the BF ad) if I could get an adjustment. She said not on 'time frame' sales. I didnt ask if I came in during the sale times, I assumed she knew what I meant.

Can Someone with TV Knowledge, please tell me if the Walmart 20" LCD ($249.00)is a better deal than the Meijer LCD for $99.00 after rebate, my son wants one for his dorm room.

quick update. i just looked at the meijer ad on this site and noticed that on friday they have 1/4 ct tw diamond stud earrings for $143.99. i see them in the thanksgiving day sale ad for $69.99 regular price $239.99 (me thinks it is a better deal on Thursday)

I was at my Meijer today with the intent of buying a video game and going in on BF to get the price adjusted. They had signs posted where they keep the grocery ads stating absolutely no adjustments will be made on any items that are in the Thurs, Fri and Sat ads. I then asked a manager if I could buy something, return it and repurchase it. She said that I would have to wait until the item was returned to the sales floor. Needless to say, I will have to wait along with everyone else to get the item I want and hope that they have enough.

Went to Meijer at 5:30 this morning. They had a pretty good TG Day sale going on... my $$ is reserved for tomorrow but I did snatch up a DVD player for $20 so that wasn't too bad at all.

Avoid Kmarts TG Day sale...you will find yourself just saying "Thank you sir, may I have another"... even the sales people were saying it wasn't as good as any of the previous years... tomorrow has a better ad there so best to wait till then if you plan on going at all.

All I have to say is Miejer totally SUCKS! Iwas there at 5:30 this morning and their items (game boy, blankets, most toys) were all gone. I got snotty with the one worker and said "huh the ad said 6am" she saids things had been gone for hours.

I WILL NOT shop there anytime soon, I'll shop at Walmart.

I also arrived at 5:30 and they were announcing things were sold out also (gameboy, ipod, plasma tv.) I think they were giving out tickets to the people that had been standing in the lines for those items and when the tickets were gone, they announced it. A week or so ago our Meijers had Ipods on sale for 33% off and people waited for hours in line and when midnight came everyone found out they only had 2. Needless to say everyone else in that line was pretty ticked. It even made our news. So I'd rather someone tell me it's gone than standing there wasting my time.

There were no tickets, there was NOTHING! Those sale items should not even be out before the sale time, especially when they know there are lots of people that go to these sales.

I went to my Meijer around 4:00 this morning and there were already more people in line for the TVs ($699-$200 MIR) Plasma then they had available. I came for the Ipod though and at that time there were only 7 or so people in front of me. I also got the $29 CD system, the $39 George Forman Grill and a few other assorted things. They did not give out tickets for the Ipod. They just rang everyone up in order starting right at 6:00 am. By the time I left the area though the line was completely wrapped around and I doubt if everyone got one. I didn't look for any toys, but it seemed very orderly. They did have things out like the grill and CD system out for the taking before 6:00, however you had to wait until 6:00 to be rung up.

I got to Meijer this morning at about 5am. BIG MISTAKE! The line for the Ipods and Gameboys was from the back to the front of the store. They only had 60 Ipods. Luckily, a friend of mine was there at 4 and was about 30th in line. She and her husband got Ipods and I got the Gameboy. They had the TVs and DVD players in the frozen food section and the line was just as long. It was amazing.

I am happy though and will wait in line there again tomorrow for the TV/DVD Combo and my mother will be at TRU!!

I was at our Meijers at 5am, and the line for the Ipods had about 50 people in it. I stood in line with a coworker for awhile after I got my $1 Christmas lights, waiting for 6am to check out. Someone came back and said they had 79 Ipods, and that you'd have to pay for them at the electronics department. I left a few minutes before 6 and got checked out, then went back to get more lights (maybe MY house will be seen from space :)) and they were not only making people pay for them at the electronics register, but they were checking out peoples' entire carts of stuff, so it was taking forever. By that time the line had well over 100 people in it. I heard a lot of people saying that they wish they had used a voucher system or something.

I'm still curious about the 20" $99 lcd tv in tomorrow's sale. I can't find out from anywhere if it has a tuner built-in or not. I talked to the guy about the Advent 19" LCD HD-compatible w/DVD built-in, it seemed like a good deal, but I didn't get one (they had plenty of them, tho).

I would just like to mention that I was in line at 4:15 yesterday for the 20" Flat Screen. Meijer was VERY organized as they handed out maps of where each item was located! A+ in my book!
