Ad Items Posted: http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/Sales/Store/walgreens
Mugglemom 10-12-2006, 11:33 AM I always see their ads, and we never had one, until now! I'm excited. Are they usually open on Thanksgiving?
huseboy 10-12-2006, 11:57 AM I dont think so but they have an ad for BF but I think they open at like 8 or so. We have 2 but I hardly ever go. I went there last year for batteries and few nick nacks. Sorry I am not much help.
peachysquirt21 10-12-2006, 12:11 PM I think they might be open on Thanksgiving. Not sure on that. In the past they have had some good deals on BF. I can remember the past few years they have had a seclection of DVDs on sale. They dont have a big selection but might be of interest to someone out there. LOL
ms_mckenna 10-12-2006, 12:18 PM DD and I went there two years ago and then again last year. She got really ticked off at the manager year before last over a cd player, and so we have to go to the older one in our town or I have to hear the story again!
They always have at least one or two things that are really good and it is kindof our winding down before we go grab something to eat thing to do.
cherry33778 10-12-2006, 12:20 PM As an old employee, I can say that they are open 365 days a year, and the 24 hr locations are never closed unless there is a big storm, i.e. a hurricane. For 4 yrs I had to work the holidays, and the last year I worked there was their 1st BF in 2004 or 2003. They have excellent deals on detergent and makeup for BF. Tip: don't go over the limit or they will turn you down, I would walk in and out the store if you want multiples.
Gator Pam 10-12-2006, 12:46 PM Beorn's portable DVD player that we got for $79.99 on BF with a $25, IIRC, mail-in rebate is still working, so I'm pleased. But their rebates can be tricky. I asked the store manager when I bought the DVD player how I could return it if it didn't work if I had to send in the original cash register receipt per the rebate instructions. He printed out what he called a rebate recipt, and told me to send that in.
Well, I was denied because I hadn't turned in my original receipt per the rebate instructions. But the store manager gave me the cash back when I went back and complained to him about it, so again, I am happy.
Gurnee Al 10-12-2006, 9:26 PM Walgreens is always good for a few excellent BF deals. There's one across the street from me so I always stop in.
bugsette 10-12-2006, 10:58 PM I went later on in the day picked up a couple of things
elena_398 10-13-2006, 2:25 PM I buy their Revlon lipsticks every year. They have them for .99. (I also price match at Walmart and get it for that too!)
bbelover 10-15-2006, 11:23 AM I just got word from a Walgreens manager that Quattro razors will be 99 cents on BF, they are coming down by email and should have the entire list in a few weeks..Also she said that some DVD player will be on sale as well....I'll post ASAP, btw the daughter works at walgreens
hpowers 10-15-2006, 12:08 PM I just got word from a Walgreens manager that Quattro razors will be 99 cents on BF, they are coming down by email and should have the entire list in a few weeks..Also she said that some DVD player will be on sale as well....I'll post ASAP, btw the daughter works at walgreens
I love the Quattro! If I remember right, they started out around $8.00, so that's a great buy. Thanks for the info.
laffnatu 10-15-2006, 12:16 PM I love the Quattro! If I remember right, they started out around $8.00, so that's a great buy. Thanks for the info.
Wow, that is a great buy. I haven't used them yet but my nephews love them. I'll have to pick some of them up. That would be great for a stocking stuffer.
elena_398 10-15-2006, 2:09 PM Love that razor also. Hope it does go on sale on BF
kandys 10-18-2006, 10:54 PM Last Year We Bought The Lipstick For 99 And Also They Had The Cologn And Perfume On Sale The Big Bottles We Got Several Of Those But First Had To Get A Raincheck Cause They Where Out But They Called Us When They Came In....in Like 2 Weeks I Was Very Pleased Cause I Think They Cost Like 20 Dollars ....if Anyone Remembers And Im Wrong Pls Correct Me On The Price...thanks, I Really Cant Wait Till All The Sales Papers Come Out...i Love It!!!!
krstee 10-23-2006, 2:12 PM I only hit 3 stores last year on BF, and Walgreens was the last one. I picked up a 6' lit Christmas tree for $20, and some of those huge chocolate bars 2/$1 (wish I'd bought more) and some canned nuts. I think I bought more, I just can't remember. I was really interested in the laundry soap deal (Tide) 50oz for 1.99 - but it ended up not being a great deal - as what I get now costs just about as much (Purex 200oz for $6.00).

HAHA
Love the candy bar part
zoemariesmamma 10-29-2006, 10:57 PM the candy bars are the best...mom and I always check out at the reg. line and then the make up line...great for stockings..ok and for a little energy in the middle of a hard day of shopping. as a matter of fact we stopped at 2 walgreens last year...they are everywhere here!
parteejen 10-30-2006, 9:03 AM I always wait until later in the day to shot at Walgreens, and then I stock up on my wrapping needs. Last year, if I remember right, they had wrapping paper buy 1 get 2 free. It was the same with the bows...take...ribbon...etc. I also got some of the big candy bars...great stocking stuffers!
scott1000 11-4-2006, 6:49 PM I work at Walgreen's (shhh, don't tell them I'm here). I've seen the list of items, but I can't find it right now (actually I haven't looked to hard yet). What I do know is the really big item will be some great prices on watches, we were told "take all of the prices out of the watch tower (they're still individually marked) and just keep it full". I've heard it's probably 75% off, but I would say at least 50%. Also, the quattro's are part of the sale. There's some big jar candles (going to be really cheap)... That's all I can remember off the top of my head. But if the past years have been any indication, they will be similar things from the previous years, that have been mentioned already. Oh, and MOST of the stores will give you a rain check on any items, so long as you are there DURING the 8 hour sale. If I see the list again I'll post it. But by that time the add will probably be scanned.

I hope the lipsticks are on sale again. I buy them every year (have been a blitz item there for the past few years). Always price match at Walmart, get the limit of 1 then head to Walgreens and get another one.
scott1000 11-6-2006, 10:50 AM I saw the list today, printed it out, then left it at work. Oops... I can confirm the watches are going to be really cheap, I think the most expensive watch was $13-14. Patriot jar candles buy 1 get 2 free at $7.99. Wrapping paper buy 1 get 2 free at $1.99. Tide 50oz, $1.99. Some foot spas and/or massager's $9.99. Some christmas tress 50% off. Some toys pretty cheap. Sorry, I didn't see the revlon on there, nor any fragrances, however, there was several pages of items that aren't on file yet so I have no way of knowing what those are. I'm guessing they haven't added those UPC's yet because they are items specifically for BF. There will be some good deals, if you're looking for a good deal on a watch, show up early because even if they do give you a rain check I doubt we will get more of them. In the past years some of the sale items at the 24 hour stores go on sale in the middle of the night (before the beginning of the 8 hour sale), so if you're driving by a Walgreens at 2am stop by and have somebody price verify an item to see what it rings up at (they may have fixed this "problem" though). Maybe I'll remember the list at some point.
elena_398 11-6-2006, 10:53 AM That is true. I went into a Walgreens before heading out to Walmart a couple of years ago. I needed some cough drops before heading out in line (dreaded cold lol) and saw a couple of people buying some BF items. Most were ringing up at the price and they were allowing it. I lucked out that year. Last year, not the case
xbatman 11-6-2006, 6:33 PM They have some wrap, ribbons, tissue paper, and cards buy 1 get 2 free this week. I stocked up and am ready to roll on that after BF!!
parteejen 11-6-2006, 11:29 PM They have some wrap, ribbons, tissue paper, and cards buy 1 get 2 free this week. I stocked up and am ready to roll on that after BF!!
Thanx for the info! I love the "buy 1 get 2 free", always stock up on wrapping paper and accessories. I didn't know that they had the sale BEFORE BF, I'll be sure to go get some this week.
scott1000 11-7-2006, 12:40 AM I submitted this list of ad items at 11:40pm. Look for it soon (I assume).
scott1000 11-7-2006, 12:45 AM Another walgreens hint:
Almost always the next weeks ad is in a stack behind the "3rd" backup. This is the register that slow stores will almost never use. Just look for the stacks of bundled ads. I doubt anybody will throw a hissy fit if you pick one up and if they do, just say "oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know" (we've never cared at our store).
Actually, the best way to shop walgreens ads is late on saturday night. Usually by 6pm the next weeks ad is already activated, if not, the ad tags are at least being hung by employees around the store so they will honor that price. So you can shop 2 ads at one time.

I used to go to Walgreens on Saturday nights just before the ad ended. If there was something on sale that has a limit, they always let me get it unlimited. Always came in handy when the bottles of Arizona Tea was on sale 2/99cents. I would always get a couple of cases.
scott1000 11-7-2006, 2:09 AM Oh, BTW, look for the 300 bulb light strings to be BOGO (buy 1, get one) at $9.99 next week. This is a pretty good price and I'm sure people will need lights.

scott1000 11-7-2006, 3:06 AM yep, that's the same list I had.
rogue1230 11-7-2006, 7:42 AM You know what walgreens is great for on BF? Wrapping paper and such and odd little stocking stuffers. I defintiley go on BF one of my last stops before i go home. This year the walgreens had a cvs move in right next door, literally, and CVS accepts walgreens coupons! Will be interesting to see how that plays out!
roxannensteve 11-8-2006, 7:44 AM What will their times be?
lwjbestcook 11-8-2006, 3:11 PM I buy their Revlon lipsticks every year. They have them for .99. (I also price match at Walmart and get it for that too!)
I got several of those lipsticks last year. Walgreens always has some good bargains and they are always open on Thanksgiving. lwj:yup:
scott1000 11-8-2006, 3:29 PM What will their times be?
24 hour stores absolutely NEVER close.
Other store hours vary...
Gator Pam 11-10-2006, 3:23 PM My CVS only accepts competitors coupons for pescriptions. :(
Can anybody give me any description of the Thomas Tank Engine set that will be on sale for BF? My son is a Thomas Freak :cheesy: so I thought I'd check it out. Is it a play set for the wooden train set? If anyone has a description that would be great!! :D :D
mesarobins 11-10-2006, 11:49 PM Yeah, I am so happy that Tide is on sale again. It is a great price when I have $1 coupons. I will make as many trips as I have coupons for. I also have several Revlon coupons for $2 I think. How does Walgreens handle overage on coupons?
scott1000 11-11-2006, 7:04 AM Walgreens will not give you back money if the coupon is for more than the purchase price. In fact, some stores enforce the "not combinable with other offers" and "one per customer", etc, rules...
Where did you find tide coupons?
skcanton 11-11-2006, 7:11 AM Does Walgreens double coupons? I have $0.50 coupons good one 2 Tides. Just wondering if I can manage to get my tide for $1.49. Thanks!
rogue1230 11-11-2006, 8:11 AM really short walgreens list thi tear? or is it just me?
letsallsucceed 11-11-2006, 9:50 AM Is the tide after rebate? This months easysaver has $2/2 tide?
duckbrain 11-11-2006, 9:54 AM really short walgreens list thi tear? or is it just me?
*agrees* There is not much to that list at all...I don't think I'll be making a trip that way...Disappointed...
raymacfla 11-11-2006, 3:52 PM :gdenough: :g_thumbsd :gdsleep3: :gdno: :gdmornincoffee:   :(
and now for a real black friday ad.....
scott1000 11-11-2006, 9:12 PM No doubling coupons.
Easy saver this month is for the 100oz bottle, 50oz bottle is on sale.
There will be other good sales in that weeks sales ad and the next week. Specifically buy 1 get 2 free on assorted things.
Also, based on the things I see coming in I think there a few things missing from the list we have. I suspect, although I have no proof of this, there will also be $.99 revlon lipstick, cheap dvd player, assorted dvd's. Plus a few others
Also, the 75% off watches isn't on there. That's a really good deal!
mcknight_collee 11-11-2006, 9:59 PM Maybe there will be more bf items coming I have seen this with a few other ads.
shopshop 11-12-2006, 4:05 PM don't they have the " 2 for a dollar " deal on those giant chocolate bars?
elena_398 11-12-2006, 6:48 PM I like the free mascara. lol. No revlon lipsticks? darn. I've bought them there for the past 3 BFs for .99
blssed2bme 11-13-2006, 6:54 AM Walgreen's does that a telescope that I plan on buying since my 6yr put it on his Santa Clause list. Better to pay $10 than $25 for the National Geographic telescope at Target. Hopefully I can pick it up on my way to Wal-Mart. LOL
buckeyeshopper 11-13-2006, 3:19 PM I love the .99 lipstick deal, too! I hope they really do have it again this year!
The Dora game set is a great deal- I hope I can get one before they run out!!!
rldelo 11-15-2006, 5:21 PM If my memory is right, the walgreens special prices started at 7am for the past 3 years here at our store in Ohio. It is a 24-hour store, so the way it worked was this: Walk in at any time before 7am, load up the cart with what you want, and then wait in line for 7am to hit. You could go through the line earlier than 7am, but you won't get the price. So we all sort of form our own line off to the side. The computer system somehow uploaded the correct prices around that 7am mark, so it took just a few minutes for the right prices to ring up.
My experience has been that not a lot of "extra" is stocked for some of the things I get....like the .99 nuts, the lipstick, etc. So if you don't go in and pick it up before 7am, it won't be there even when the sale starts at 7am (or whatever time it is in your location).
Just my experience--
Rebecca
ponycal 11-16-2006, 12:58 AM I was in Walgreens today and the clerk told me about the 8 hour BF sale which included the 75% off watches and the Quattro FAR too. Just wanted to add that she thought it was the new Quattro razor with the free earbuds headphones included, so it makes it an even better deal.
soonernstlouis 11-17-2006, 9:28 PM Yeah, I am so happy that Tide is on sale again. It is a great price when I have $1 coupons. I will make as many trips as I have coupons for.
As mentioned above, don't count on Walgreens to carry more than a few each of the BF items. Last year I was 1st in line at 7:00am on BF (actually after I checked out there might have been 3 others in the store). I got 2 Tide's @<hidden> $1.99 & I think they had 1 left.
This week's add had stuff like Ocean Srpay Cranberry Sauce for $0.79. After going to 2 Walgreens who didn't even have a price marker where the product should go, I gave up & will take the add to Super Wallyworld to add match.
scott1000 11-18-2006, 9:46 AM Just a hint, chances are Walgreens isn't out of things as often as it may seem. Because we carry so many different products in such a small store there's not always enough room to carry LOTS of an item in the basic location. So, chances are the item you are looking for it either somewhere else in the store or in the stockroom. For example, food items that go on ad (mandarin oranges, mushrooms, cranberry sauce, etc) usually have an entire endstand for those items. Especially around thanksgiving/christmas when there is actually an endstand for special food items like that. If not, then it's almost certain that there is more of the item in the back, different stores are better about stocking the shelf, but I know that at my store we are required to fill the fast moving food items 2x daily. But even that isn't enough sometimes. Also, with the stuff on the 8-hour sale (tide, nuts, etc) the stuff is probably on endstands all over the store, Walgreens wants people to "shop" the store and buy other things while they are in there. If you can't find what you're looking for, ask, we're there to help you.
Oh, and the revlon lipstick is not included, I saw the actual ad today...
iffer23 11-18-2006, 11:59 AM Oh, and the revlon lipstick is not included, I saw the actual ad today...
What about the usual wrapping paper and tag deals - are they in the ad? They weren't included on the BF list here - surprising since they seem to have them every year...
i have the BF ad in front of me yes buy one get 2 free are one the following
Color studio gift wrap by hallmark 30 in 50 sq ft buy one at 1.99 limit 6
Bows28 pk, tissuepaper 24 sheet white Hallmark, 21-24 pack paper magic gift tags buy one at 0.99 cents limit 9
Ty uingle beanies 4 inch styles buy one at 2.99 limit 3
If anyone can walk me through uploading these ads I have about 20 to stores not in the PDF file already. just private message me thanks
scott1000 11-19-2006, 7:38 AM Yes, there are other things in the weekly ad, such as the wrapping paper etc. But I wouldn't technically include them in the BF ad, because they've already been on sale at those prices this year.
There are a few BF items that aren't on the list.
soonernstlouis 11-19-2006, 11:30 AM Scott1000: I went to 2 Walgreen's on Friday looking for the Ocean Spray Cranberry Sauce & asked for them to look around/in the back. None to be found. Finally I just took the add to Walmart & add matched. I would have just paid the price difference as after a while you gotta wonder if $0.20 is worth wasting your gas.
My other beef with Walgreens (in case you want feedback) is that the prices of sale & buy-one get one free often rings up wrong/is charged. I have to be careful to total in my head the total cost since the recipts will often discount at the end.
megnsamsgrace 11-19-2006, 12:58 PM I forgot I can PM the tide at Wal Mart! I have 50 cents on 1 any size! With a family of 6.. this savings will really add up! I plan to buy 20 of the Tides at WM! Thanks sooner for mentioning the PM! I have items on layaway already to PM but I forgot something simple like laundry detergent!
Sunshyne 11-20-2006, 6:36 PM The tide was on sale last year for the same price, I think. And the peanuts. I thought they were out of the tide, so I got in line with my DVD's and peanuts. A lady in front of me in line had brought along her teenage son, and he was walking around picking up more stuff for her as she waited in line. They put out more Tide, and he called her on her cell, and she got him to get me 2 also. There was a limit of 2 on the Tide and Peanuts, so I don't know that Walmart would let you get more than that for the price.

50 oz is an unusual size - you may not find it at Walmart, most stores don't carry smaller than 100 oz.
4tiaras1crown 11-21-2006, 8:30 AM Does anyone know if the 24 hour stores will have black friday prices at 12 a.m.?
elena_398 11-21-2006, 1:40 PM Does anyone know if the 24 hour stores will have black friday prices at 12 a.m.?
Last year my 24 hour Walgreens started at 7am (the sale). They didn't sell any merchandise for the BF prices. They told us they had to wait as the registers automatically does the sale prices at 7am. (already programmed). You never know though. I'll call your local one to ask
megnsamsgrace 11-22-2006, 1:48 PM Yes, you are right, I checked at WM and they only have 100oz. And if they do a limit, I will just go out and go back in. My step father works for walgreens so hoping he can help me out! I go through 150oz of tide every 2 weeks!
lwjbestcook 11-22-2006, 4:02 PM Does anyone know if there is an ad scan for Walgreens? lwj
elena_398 11-24-2006, 7:16 AM limit of two on the Tide. My Walgreens were letting people check out by 6am. Wasn't supposed to start till 7am. Im glad as I got out of Walmart early and didn't want to stand around for 2hours again.
cmars1010 11-24-2006, 8:50 PM I purchased the Digital Camera, 59.99 this year, it was still available at 9 am. Can anyone give me insight as to if that was a good deal? thanks!!
