Yes! I was actually called yesterday and was told that I'd be receiving the free web cam. Apparently, I will be participating in a survey next Wednesday that should last about a half hour. When the survey is finished, my compensation will be to keep the web cam. I'll let you know how it goes!

OK...I just wanted to update everyone on this. I received my webcam (its a Logitech Pro 5000) and it came complete with software and a headset/microphone. I took the survey tonight which was scheduled in advance. It took about a half hour and I just finished it. I talked live with a representative from the company and reviewed the product...we spoke back and forth during the entire process. He just asked the questions and all I had to do was give him my feedback! And for that, the camera is mine to keep! I'm told to be sure to keep everything (all equipment and software) as I'll likely be asked to participate in future studies! Anyway, for those of you who wanted to know if you actually got a webcam, you really do!! Good luck!

Just wanted to let you know that I've been invited to another survey with this company via the webcam they sent me. This time, it is for a 5-10 minute survey and the compensation will be $10. They're hoping I'm willing to help them out again and will let me know if I'm ultimately selected. Got my fingers crossed! So far, this company is looking really good!! :D

I just got the call. They are going to FedEx my camera today and I do the interview Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. HOORAY! I have been signed up with them forever. I thought that too. So far there seems to be nothing that requires it. The only thing I can think of, is they are testing a new type of interviewing process for future studies with studies that they have now even though the cam isn't necessary right now...........Did that make sense?

Yes, it's supposed to snap onto the base. I'm having trouble loading the software with the disk they sent me, so I downloaded it from Logitech site. Now that I have everything loaded, how do I know if it's even working???? Do you know???

Thanks. I got it snapped on. I loaded the full version of the software because I did not read the paperwork. The software has a testing process for the camera and the microphone. I got those set then I played with it for awhile. After I read the paper work I uninstalled the software and just loaded the drivers. I left the settings as they were when I uninstalled the software. The option to do so pops up in a window while you are uninstalling the software.

Other than that I don't have a clue how to check if it is working. Is Google Talk free? It says we can use it with that if we only install the drivers.

Go to "Control Panel" Then click on "Add/Remove" Uninstall the software And the drivers they are two separate things on the list. You will need to restart the computer.

Pop the disc back in. Let it do the jazz that it starts doing, on it's own, when you pop it in. When the first page of the installation configuration pops up click "Advanced" then tick the circle that says install drivers only.

All Done.

Just finished with my live interview. Was so easy and actually pretty fun! Took awhile to get the webcam set up but was a breeze after that. Got a webcam, a mike and will get $20 for my time. It's as simple as that!!

The homework was pretty simple. Just go to each site they list, look at the screens and write down what you thought of them. For the pictures I needed, I just typed in a search like "kid picture" and printed one off. They only asked me questions about two sites. Homework took me about 15 min. Good luck tomorrow. It's really kinda fun!

Yeah, she called me last night. She sounded a bit pressured. at the time I wondered if a lot of people bailed on her. I am glad. Felt kinda guilty getting the cam and headset and then not doing the survey. Like I can control the weather! LOL
