I just sent away for my first check with Global Test Market. Seems like it took forever to get 1000 points! Does anyone know how long it usually takes for a check from them to arrive? I know that some companys send them lightening fast while others seem to take months (Greenfield Online).

Thanks!

I don't remember exactly how long it took when I got mine a few motnhs ago, but it did take a while. Sure is nice seeing that $50 check though. :)

Gosh, I'm wondering how long it took you guys to accumulate enough points for a check.

I've been a member for awhile now and I only have 87 points...

It usually takes mine 4 -6 weeks. I just got one this morning! :)

My first year with them it took forever to get to 1,000 points. The last 3 months I have cashed out every month. However, the last 3 weeks I have gotten a lot of surveys but the point values are low. I have been wondering if it is intentional because I have been reaching payout in a months time.

Wait until you get to 960 points or so and the surveys either slow down or you can only get 5 points because you don't qualify. That is sooo frustrating!

I have an account at global test market and I am just wondering how much 1000 points is actually worth. It is taking forever. I currently have 757points and I can't find any info on the site that says how much I will get for the number of points.

Anyone know?

Each point is worth 0.05. So 1000 points is worth 50.00. It does take a little to reach 1000 but when you do 50.00 is nice. Right now I have around 1300 points and should cash out. But for some reason I just keep letting it grow.

I have some info on theses guys. Now I can't say anything for certain but things looks suspicious! :gdparanoid:
I was able to cash out 4 months in a row. After the fourth month the point value of the surveys I am being sent has dropped---Drastically. The majority of the surveys I received were worth 5 - 250. Now, the values are 5 -60 for the majority of the time. :gdparanoid:
Has this happened for anyone else? Or, did they not like how often I was cashing out? :gdparanoid:

Hmm, ya know what? I don't think I've ever gotten a survey that was worth more than 50 points. Maybe they've just lowered the point value for everyone? I joined in November and every survey I have ever gotten says it will be worth 5-50 points. Or maybe they just don't invite me to take the biggies.

Anywho, I was finally able to cashout! And for the last week or two I have been getting a survey every single day but not qualifying for any of them. Oh well, 5 points is better than nothing. Is this happening to anyone else?

Mine have been consistent, but then I don't think I was ever offered anything with really high points, except recently something for 600. I cashed out a few weeks ago. I think sometimes we just tend to get paranoid, with all the scams out there. ;)

Nope. They definitely have decreased the point values of the surveys I have been taking. I have been watching since I made that post. (In November) No doubt about it. They are handing out far fewer points for surveys that are the same length as they used to be.

Yep, I agree. I joined in November or December and racked up 800 points right away. I am now struggling to get the last 200 so I can cash out. I hardly had any surveys at all in Febuary and early March, and I didn't qualify for most of them. It seems like it has picked up the last week or so, but it is still going to take me a long time to reach 1000!

Exactly the same here, all i keep getting are the 5 point for DNQ for the last month, I am only 85 away from cashing out (first time since I joined in October) and yes the points have defintely declined..
Also, I'm finding it very hard to qualify for their surveys lately too, never had that prob with them before..

That's what bums me out. Almost all of mt surveys used to be worth 100 - 150 - 200. Now, The majority are 5 - 50. I get an occasional 75 - 100. I used to cash out every month. Now it takes 2 months to cash out.

I have trouble logging in to them, when I finally do get logged in, i very rarely get past the first couple of questions before it freezes. I have asked them for help in at least 2 emails and I get back "we are sorry but you can't access a survey but once". I finally got back an email that says it does not support Mac; well I don't have a Mac which I had already told them. Can anyone suggest anything? btw I have noticed the point value going down as well.

I completed it and still showing that I haven't of course when I click to get in says I have already completed it. This one was worth 150pts would have put me over what I need to cash out. I always seem to have trouble getting the pts credited right about when I am ready to cash out again. I never did get the pts the last time this happened. I have emailed and emailed with no luck. I just finished the wierdest survey for GTM
It was ran by OTX
They seemed to have 4 different surveys crammed into one for for a whole 50 pts
It felt like 4 because they asked me 4 seperate times what my household income was and then threw in parts of 4 seperate surveys [one about sports, one about TV viewing habits, one about credit cards and finally one about computers]
Wish they had told me that I was doing 4 seperate surveys. I would've demanded 200 points

Hmm. This is a trend that I started to notice back in November. They have greatly reduced the points awarded for surveys. It really stinks. Have you logged on to the site to check your list of completed surveys? Sometimes there will be surveys listed there that you have not started. Even if you DNQ for them at least you will get the points for trying to qualify.

I am sorry this is so frustrating for you. I know how you feel. I have been in the home stretch and had to inch my way up to the 1000 cash out point. It's awful!

That's not the half of it
I'm up to 975 right now
Last night I received a banking survey that lasted 30 minutes
After I submit the survey to claim my big 50 point reward, the system tells me THANKS, but you are not getting any points. No REWARD. No here's 5 points because you didn't qualify.
NOTHING
When I went to check my account, it tells me that the survey I just completed is INCOMPLETE. When I go back to try to open it again, it tells me that I can't. Won't let me refresh the screen or go back to resend.
Nice way to waste 20 minutes and a big S-E grin on my face

That sounds like an OTX survey. GTM does a lot of their (OTX's) surveys because their own members don't want to take their surveys for exactly that reason. When it's an OTX survey I don't take them. I still want my points for being bothered by them. So, I make sure I DNQ. I tell them I am 99 years old. That disqualifies me and I get my 5 points for their annoyance. I despise OTX. I will not take their surveys anymore. They steal. They lie. Their tech. team stinks. They constantly have tech issues and then blame their survey takers for it. If they ever bother to answer an email.

I just completed a 15 minute survey on digital cameras, only to be told "Sorry, you don't qualify... we have credited your account with 5 points"!!!! I really feel like they got something for nothing here... I actually know a lot about different digital cameras and answered a lot of questions. Has anyone qualified for anything lately? I guess I should just be glad I got 5 points instead of the 2 that I've been getting recently, but at this rate I'll never get the extra 100 points I need to cash out!!

I have never received one of their surveys through anyone else. The strangest thing of all was that I actually qualified for the survey! I am going to be paid $2 for my participation (through Clear Voice), but I'm wondering if this is how Global Test Market is going to get out of paying me the almost $50 I have earned.

I DID answer the questions thoughtfully but happen to be a very fast reader (I actually had speed reading courses as part of the "Gifted" curriculum in high school and also took a speed reading course in college). I feel that I am being penalized for being intelligent!!!!!!!! At one point I actually walked away from the survey to get my toddler a drink, so I know I didn't even complete the survey as quickly as I could have.

I have emailed GTM and will let you know how they respond.

OK... I know I've been complaining about my frustration with Global Test Market lately, but today I am TICKED!!!! I finally received a survey that I actually qualified for that would take me within 10 points of cashing out (yes, Miranda, it would be the first time). I completed the survey (which was about acid reflux and was completely relevant to me), clicked on the 'finish survey' button, and received a message that said....
"Sorry, you have answered the survey questions too quickly to have provided thoughtful responses. We will be unable to use your survey data and will no longer require your participation in this survey".

I know exactly how you feel! This has happened to me. Not with GMI though. I hope you get somewhere with them. I have the same problem. I read too fast too. I have had more than one survey credit voided for the same reason. I now leave the darn things open for an extra five minutes before clicking the finial submit button. I hope GMI takes care of this. Good luck!

Oh well... I received a canned response that tells me absolutely nothing and doesn't resolve the issue (in other words, I get no points for the survey). I am going to stick with them until I get the additional 51 points I need (which should take about another 6 months at 2 pts per survey!) and then be done with them.

We apologize for any inconvenience
GlobalTestMarket has caused you.

Thank you for the information. This has

We hope everything will be fixed soon.

I do the same thing. I tend to open them and take my time, going back and forth. That is the problem when you have tried enough surveys...you get pretty quick at them.

I think it's more a case of people will still take the surveys so why should they pay more if they can get away with paying less.

I am so agitated with Global Test Mkt.. I did an interactive 90 min plus invoke solution thru their (global) invitation over 8 weeks ago for 600 points and over the course of numerous emails to them, all I receive is double talk, Global Test Mkt states they are not responsible for this , invoke solutions is, for me to contact them and Invoke is totally unresponsive to any of my emails.. To me the gist of this is, that they just plain to not want to pay me what I am due.. The 600 points will put me up and over cash out and well on my way to cashing out again..( I cashed out last month for my $50 ) with the measly 2 points and 40-50 points now for studys that used to be 150 plus, makes you wonder whats up..I am helpless, I guess I just got screwed out of 600 points :gdcensored:

exactly they can pick who they wanna screw and know that even if several leave they will still have lots more ppl

The really unfortunate thing is that they make you wait until you earn $50 to cash out, but decided to screw you when you get close to doing so. At least that is the way it has been in my case. I feel like all I am doing lately is complaining about Global Test Market!!

Last week I completed a survey that they didn't give me credit for because "I completed it too quickly". Yesterday I qualified for one in which they asked a bunch of questions and then wanted you to review a website. The instructions said "View the website, then click the "Finished" Button to return to the survey". I took my time viewing the website (so that I wouldn't be disqualified for doing it too quickly) and then noticed that there was no "Finished" button to click. There was no way for me to get back to the survey! I have yet to hear back from them on that one.

Either of these would have given me enough points to cash out for the first time (I originally joined in November). There are other survey companies who are excellent with customer service and give their panel members the benefit of the doubt (Testspin is one). Unfortunately, GTM is not one of these. I just want to cash out so I can be removed from their panel.

Same here, I was so frustrated when I did a survey that took probably 45 minutes and I got 30 points. I used to get 150 for those really long ones. Also, there were thousands of questions that were the drag and drop style. Long and boring. I was hoping they weren't going to be one of the survey companies that screwed over their panelists. Oh well another one going down the drain. Also their homepage says that any surveys completed over the last couple of days are going to take a while to show up in our accounts, however if they send you a new survey invitation the points are showing up there ??

not going to send it to the P.O. Box.

Has anyone had this problem before.
This morning, before I took any surveys, I had 520 marketpoints
I took 2 surveys, the 2nd of which was numbered before the first [ie: 1st survey #1234, 2nd survey #1221]. Successfully completed both. I should have been credited for 90 points.
I just went and checked my marketpoints. Now I have 435 points. I lost points for completing 2 surveys. :eyepoppin

At the rate I'm going, I'll be paying GTM to successfully complete their surveys :yuck:

nope they aren't they basically said I was a cheater because the ppl I referred had some of the same data points as I do and BBB said that was as much information as they will require them to do. I am not surprised they closed my account because I have been reading a lot of posts where they are doing that to ppl. I think since it was such a great program that lots of ppl signed up and they seem to be weeding out some of us older ppl like me I guess.

Just so ya know the ppl that I referred I think only I was credited with one but 2 of them are males which I am not and one was a female and she is now a truck driver and I don't believe does any surveys for them anymore because she doesnt have time. So not sure what "data points" we had in common but oh well was an expensive lesson

Wel Il, just requested a check from one of the GMI survey sites. *sigh* Now I just have to wait until the carrier pigeon gets theu check to my house. GMI is a good company. Very honest. They pay what they promise, the points for surveys have gone way down in the last year and that really stinks but for the most part, they are a decent company. They are just so s......l......o......w...... getting payments to their panelists. I really wish they would speed things up. I read the site where a couple of people wrote in asking about the speed of their payments. They said they intend to improve but what do you want to bet they will be s......l......o......w...... implementing the change? *sigh* Can't do anything but hurry up and wait. I just wish I didn't need to pay for my medication right now.

I cashed out on 10/27 and still have not received payment. Had hoped to get it by Christmas so we shall see.

It can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks to receive your check, the norm is about 6 weeks..:)

I cashed out on 11/13 and was just told by GTM to expect my check by December 26th.

On a separate note, I just finished a 100 point survey and received a message that I completed it too quickly for my responses to count. This happened to me previously, so I am pretty careful... I actually spent a great deal of time on this survey and stepped away from my computer a couple of times to get the kids ready for bed. :gdangry3: I guess they just don't like paying 100 point surveys anymore.

Did you email them to complain? Fortunately I've never had this problem, yet...

Yes, I complained both times it happened. Both times I received a canned response that stated "Thank you for notifying of us this technical issue. We are working to have it resolved." I never received credit.

On a more positive note, I received a check today from my cash out 11/13. Merry Christmas!

Just a hats off to GMI, I am so pleased with their new blog, now you can have a good idea of when your checks will be coming.. No more guessing..I image it cuts down on hundreds of emails asking "where's my check" Kudos to GMI!

For those that arent aware of it. GTM has created a blog, so they are listening to what people are saying and are working on improving their surveys.: http://blog.globaltestmarket.com/200...8/hello-world/

Postnote: be sure to click on correct month on the right hand side..

Just a heads up in case you didnt receive an email, you can update your profiles again, there are 10 of them, if you do them all, it's a 100 points.

Also if you aren't aware of their blog, they have one and if you are waiting payment, it will tell you when it's being sent out.. The blog button is on your home page.. They have gotten really good about their payments, usually just 4 weeks..

I've been noticing something very worrying
I've gotten 2 5-50 point surveys recently
They turned out to be from OTX
When I successfully completed it, I only got 40 points
Now the surveys said that I was supposed to get 50 points, but I only got 40 points at the end
Why do I feel cheated

Just got this email yesterday---

Dear GlobalTestMarket member,

On October 1st, 2008, GlobalTestMarket released a new survey engine. In the process of transferring large amounts of data to the new system, we have unfortunately experienced slower than usual processing times which has caused some unexpected delays.

Please rest assured that we are recording your MarketPoints and survey activity in real time, and that your account information will be current and consistent throughout shortly.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding during this time.

Sincerely,

GlobalTestMarket

Heads up - GTM is now sending out survey invitations with sweepstakes entry rewards:

A new survey is available
Survey Number: 144942
Reward for Survey Completion: Sweepstakes Entry

After completing the survey:

Thank you for your participation in this survey.
You have received three (3) entries to our daily and monthly drawing!
We look forward to inviting you to another future survey.

It's a sad day for all...

One can now cross Global Test Market into the "junk survey site" column: the majority of all all surveys feature "Reward for Survey Completion: Sweepstakes entry." In fact, eight of the last ten I received have been for a sweepstakes; the two that remained for points no longer credited my account five GTM points for being disqualified. It's a shame: GTM was my second favorite survey site. :(
