View Full Version : Well, I got my Black Friday chair!
I got a chair to sit outside of a store come Black Friday (or the night before rather). :eyepoppin
I got one like this (http://www.everywherechair.com/quad-bubba.html) but it's oversized and lays back a bit. Nice little pillow, cup holder and super comfortable. And I only paid $5 at the Salvation Army! :D
becca0884 8-14-2006, 3:43 AM Awesome!
Hehe...good deal. We've got 4 of those with the Dick's Sporting Goods logo on the back. We paid $5 each for them and they come in handy all the time.
fairydustcrissy 8-14-2006, 11:08 AM I got 2 of them for my birthday :) I keep them in the back of the van all the time, and they will be very useful on BF :)
amdskip 8-14-2006, 11:37 AM Wimp, I stand for 1 hour + every year in front of Staples:)
bayhaysay 8-14-2006, 11:37 AM What do you do with the chair when the store opens?

I would say fold it up and put it over the sholder or in the cart.
My wife and I have a loveseat like this and we love it. Basically two chairs side by side with a little table in between. We take it all sorts of places. Never thought about using one for BF.
I think that the stools would be great for BF too. Good idea.

Melissa 8-14-2006, 11:58 AM I just bought two quad chairs at CVS for $4.99 each.
Daisimae 8-14-2006, 1:32 PM A chair I have. Now I want a TENT! http://www.decathlontent.com/

LOL, my kids have one of those. It's great, you just undo the little strap and the tent pops up. We used it to hold our campsite (until dh could get the camper there) a couple of weeks ago. It's the only kind of tent I can put up. :yup:
wow that chair that was posted on here before is perfect ..its a back pack and a cooler and a chair.i thinknit was circut city.it was like 5 $
brynnfromtheblock 8-14-2006, 1:46 PM What do you do with the chair when the store opens?
We take our chairs and about 15 minutes before the store opens one of us brings them to the car

Have DH run everything back to the vehicle and then come back to me as we enter the building. ;) Or he can run it to the vehicle a few min. before opening.
happysunshine28 8-15-2006, 1:00 AM cool
ms_mckenna 8-15-2006, 9:58 AM I never even thought about taking chairs. That is a really good idea though! We just bought new chairs at CVS. Had a really big ECB and DH was with me ... he has been eyeing those chairs since they put them out in the spring but neither of us wanted to pay full price lol.

Are they easy to fold back up? Those look really neat may have to order them for the kids for going camping!
bayhaysay 8-15-2006, 10:00 AM Knowing my luck I'd be the one to take the chairs back to the vehicle and then some b*tch would throw a fit and not want to let me back in line.

Kinda, I mean we always get ours twisted back up but it usually takes a few tries. It's well worth it though to not have to go through the hassle of putting it up.

I am really bad at putting up tents myself. Anyone know of someplace they sell these in the stores?
ms_mckenna 8-15-2006, 2:57 PM :cheesy: Nevermind there is a store finder on the web page. Thinking I will have to buy offline though looks far away lol.

That's exactly why I've never used a chair before...but this year I think I might actually get to go with a friend! She and I both want to go, and both our husbands are here, so we may be able to both go this year. If that's the case, we'll be able to bring stuff and have one of us go back and stash it in the car. :)
gisellerol 9-8-2006, 6:43 PM I took one last year and a blanket I was with a friend and we sat there nice and toasty:tongue1:
EliteABombAZ 9-8-2006, 7:45 PM I got my chair too... and I didn't even have to pay for it! I got it by quickly signing up on one of the freebie posts! It's pink and says "4imprint" but it's a sturdy chair!
brynnfromtheblock 9-8-2006, 10:09 PM Usually the people in the front of the line are friendly... they're the hardcore BF'rs and understand how it works... we've never had a problem putting our chairs back.. especially if their's 2 of you and one person stays in line. Last year we were at BB at 10pm and there was a 24 hr convenience store right next door... everyone walked back and forth all night to use the restroom and buy coffee... it was fun!!
My son and his friends camp out the night before at about 10:30 outside Best Buy. They have done this for the past 2 years. The first year they were first in line and they got some really fantastic deals on electronics!:gdnum1:
ravi7791 9-9-2006, 11:59 AM That is one sweet chair my friend :D
I don't need to camp out. Since we go to New Jersey for thanksgiving, I go there on Friday and it's filled with people. You can barely walk.. But Friday night, we come home (cape cod, ma) and go to the stores on Saturday. There's like NO ONE here. Empty. Nada. Everything is full. So unless it's only a 6 hour deal, I don't have much to worry about :P
fun_4_u_nme 9-10-2006, 11:06 PM maybe a tent might be a good idea ?
knb080998 9-11-2006, 9:05 AM That's a nice looking chair!
elena_398 9-11-2006, 11:05 AM Great deal! I always stand though. I go out by myself so I prefer not to have anything slow me down. Haha. Race in for a cart and head to the deals
ryleeblack 9-11-2006, 12:33 PM That looks nice. I would bring a chair, but I will probably be going by myself and I don't want to bring the chair into the store since I can't get out of line to put it back into the car.
RossMAN 9-11-2006, 9:37 PM We bought our "BF chairs" from Walmart for $10 each.
They look sort of like this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330027366513) but my wife's is red and mine is green.

momof2many 9-12-2006, 10:32 AM NICE chair. I have a similar that is mesh in the middle. Incredibly comfy.
Also have one of the beach ones...its SUPER low to the ground and super comfy.
Jasonlh1 9-12-2006, 6:29 PM My local BJ's wholesale club was sold out of the NFL chair I wanted. So I decided to go to Walmart. They had the exact same chair for about $4.00 more then BJ's. Both stores are near by each other. WM is a big rip off. I hate shopping there. Looking at my cool new avatar, can you guess which NFL team? :D
jellybean051901 9-21-2006, 3:37 AM I have had my BF chair for a couple of years. This year I need to buy BF electric socks because my feet were so cold last year when the doors finally opened I couldn't hardly walk
NeepNeep 9-21-2006, 4:13 AM Had to give in a replace my folding chairs this year. My SO is a big guy and finding heavy duty chairs isn't easy. But Sam's had some, in store, weight capacity: 350 lbs, for $16 each. He now has his new *big boy* chair... :D
H_Hancock 9-22-2006, 12:58 PM Last few years, we've used what were discarded plastic 10 gal. buckets which held plaster or such. Get them for free from a construction friend. Bought two pillows for seat padding for a buck apiece.........and when the store we're camping in front of opens, we just shove the bucket against the outside wall and leave them. They stay there until we exit.....great! If not, c'est la vie....no great loss. Worked out quite well and the building's wall provided the back for our "chairs".
dietcokejunkee 9-22-2006, 2:26 PM That tent would be aswome for a nap, provided you had a guard to protect you from some of the savages that always end up in line! That and a portable fire pit....nice and toasty!!!!
I'll probably forget my chair and end up standing for 4-6 hours like I always do...
