I'm starting think this might be a strong black friday this year for certain things I've been putting off. With the recent drop in in LCD and plasma prices I'm hoping to see the one that makes me wait out to get this year. What items are on you wish list to see on the best shopping day of the year?

I am hoping for some really good deals on stereo systems (both the kids want one for Christmas) and a good digi camera like the rebel. DH would like to see a good deal on the 360 lol. I hope this is a good year this year. Last year just was not all that great hoping that we have some fun deals this year!

Two of mine want 6 string Seagull box guitars. I wonder if the music stores do Black Friday. For my three year old, I wait for the ads and then decide. I know she wants a Barbie, but a lot can change in 4 months.

I know they make a lot of money off people's laziness, or just plain stealing (anybody that regularly uses rebates knows what I mean.), but enough already! Most stores would actually lose money if every person that bought an item got their rebate. I would rather get a 30% discount at purchase than a 50% discount through rebate. Maybe it's just me.

I would have gladly sold it to you at cost $744 + actual shipping.

That's actually why I cancelled the order is because it's not really as portable as a 12.1" or 14.0" laptop. Currently I have my eye on the Dell XPS M1210, HP DV2000T (http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3088) and Dell Latitude D620.

Dell M1210 wins where it counts - size.

HP DV2000T is loaded for only $1,000 from CostCo.com but battery life on the 6 cell is mediocre.

Dell D620 has solid build quality but things like a DVD Burner will cost you an arm, leg and kidney.

The HP will probably win as it's feature packed and looks awesome.

Dell M1210 wins where it counts - size.


That's the one that I really have my eye on, but small size = larger cost, so the 14" range seems to be the better balance of cost : size.

It was $900AR last week at outpost, so I can see another $200 drop for BF.

If we're talking WISH list, then a flat screen TV for the living room (we have a 32" one that we bought 6 years ago and it's huge and heavy!) and a laptop for me (DH just bought one during "back to school" time for his online schooling) and toys for DD. Maybe even (although it's breaking my original rules) a tv/dvd player for DD's room. No cable hook ups, just so she can watch movies/videos.

This is my ideal present for my son this Christmas, too. He's just getting into trains. My husband just got him a GEO Trax set with a little battery-operated train. But I've been thinking about one of those big train tables ever since my son was playing with one in Barnes & Noble about a month ago. It had a bunch of little Thomas and friends train pieces and signs and some animals around the tracks. Then we saw one in Toys R Us for like $200 without any of the little trains or signs. Ugh! I wouldn't mind $200 (if I had the money) if all of the little trains and signs were included.

But I've found that you can use your debit card online at most places.

One of my sons recently killed my video camera (kids, gotta love em), so I'm hoping to find a digital camcorder. It would make it so much easier to upload movies to the computer and burn on CD for the Scotland grandparents.

We just finished a massive refinishing our basement and we want a plasma or lcd, that is the biggest priority so we can entertain during the holidays down there.

Some more FAR items from Circuit City!! They had some great items two years ago that were FAR. They sure did make great gifts!!

I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait. Does it sound like I'm excited? Last year my husband and I camped outside of BB for a computer, but this year we may try CC. I have already told him that if we do go to CC, we will have dinner and I am out the door shortly after. The first person in the line at BB got there at 4-4:30p.m. Thanksgiving Day. They were hardcore and even had portable toilet in their minivan.

Now I am wishing that I will not have to work that day. I can still shop since the photeo studio doe not open until 10 but it will be easier if i do not have to work at all that day.

Hard drives, hard drives, hard drives (and DVDs). And the hard drives have to be big (minimum 250GB for SATA, minimum 300GB EIDE...if not 400GB).

I'd like to have all of my DVDs ripped to my computer, and that is requiring ALOT more space than I have currently (which is already over 1 TB). I'm hoping BF allows that to be a reality.

I'm also hoping CompUSA does what they did last year and duplicates their BF hard drive deal twice more by January.

I'm looking for deals on computers, laptops in particular, An awesome digital camera that is at least 8mp, (still doing some research as to which one I want.), a digital camcorder, and MP3 players, preferably Creata Zen. It will be an electronic year for this household!

Target usually does this...last year was Garfield and Day After Tomorrow...8.88..(also Robots, and a few others)..Walmart did price match without asking..rang up a few cents cheaper...they already knew what the prices stores had so they already changed prices ahead of time...so be warn...(good warning) and price check everything at those price scanners inb the stores!!!!

I'd like to see the Fisher Price Kid-Tough digital camera for cheap. It's $70, but I hope that drops considerably on BF.

I'm hoping for some cheap/free iPod and Motorola phone accessories. CompUSA came through for me last year, but I've won a 2nd iPod (Nano this time), so that means I need new accessories.

My ten year old wants a PSP game system and of course, if I get him one then his younger brother (age 6) will want one too. So, I hope to find those for a really good deal.

~ Nice Portable DVD Player for $150 (and by nice I mean a decent lasting battery. The one I have is okay, but I'm looking to get one with a 6 hour battery) - Probably would happen, but only at Best Buy and only from 5-7 AM or something)

as for the goodies, I'm hoping some more free after rebate cd-r's dvd'r's, cheap pmp (portable media players--better than the online deals), maybe a bigger hard drive for my comp., and a cheap UPS (uninterruptable power supply). and a few nick-nacks that I'm sure won't be any significant deals on... needless to say, I won't be pushing over some old granny or small children to get to any of this!
But I have to say, I'm more interested in keeping the clutter out of the home lately.. and unless its really necessary.. not to add (much) to the future junk/clutter pile!

And for who asked, yes, portable DVD players can usually be hooked up to a tv, I got the Walmart BF portable last year and it hooks right up. Just make sure it has the A/V jacks.

Some Portable dvd players do come with the special AV or whatever it would be, cords to hook up to televisions. Usually it would say on the box if it includes this.

Well, all my 12 year old son really cares about is his PS2 so he wants a few new games. He wants an upgraded MP3 player, too. That's all I can get out of him! His tv is about to go out, though, so he will get a new one...he just doesn't know it yet. :)
