View Full Version : Brand Institute ~ Survey Site
cjs9473 5-15-2006, 5:02 PM I have been selected for a couple of their surveys and have $4 waiting to be deposited in my PayPal account (a little slow to pay, but at least it's cash!) They usually pay $2. They usually give a short prequalification survey before you go into the survey.

lennon2004 5-15-2006, 6:26 PM I'm a member of this. :) I don't qualify for most of their surveys, but it's a good one!
I have been with these guys about 6 months. The surveys are less frequent than other site but the do pay in a timely manner. Somewhere around the end of the month the payments go out. Bummer is paypay takes fees out of the deposit if you have a premier account. :(
USC Becca 5-18-2006, 12:38 AM thanks
noehlp 5-18-2006, 12:51 AM Great, thanks!
kc#erica 7-3-2006, 4:37 PM I just got done doing my 1st survey with them. They say they pay $5 per survey, they're kinda long but at the end they ask for social security number, they say government makes them ask for the number after the survey's done before they pay you. Has anyone done their surveys? If I get paid I'll let you know because if I get paid it's a good site because I just signed up with them and they already sent survey and they pay $5 per survey.
I am with Brand Institute. I don't remember ever giving them my SS number though. Hmmm. I will go check my account. I do know they pay. I receive my money by paypal.

Thanks I was hoping it was a real paying survey site.
Thanks I was hoping it was a real paying survey site.
How did they ask for your SS number? I checked my profile info and it is not in there. I have been a member for over a year. I most likely don't remember giving it to them. Hmmm. Getting old.

macrophage 7-3-2006, 6:06 PM I just completed this taco bell food survey. it is weird because BrandIns do most professional surveys about drugs or bio-assay products but not food.
If you are med professionals, you will be paid better, like 15 bucks/ survey.
for customer, most 2$/survey. sometimes $5. seldom $15.
Basically, SSN is needed. For professional, med licence number is required to verify.

I just checked my account and it said I needed to update my social securty number...it was highlighted in pink at the bottom of my profile. I don't like giving out my social, and would not normally do it. However, I have been paid from this group for several surveys in the past and have not received any surveys in months...so I gave it too them. Then I went back and checked my profile again and it does not even show it listed there anymore. I'm assuming for security purposes.
Now that I have given it to them maybe I will receive more surveys...I hope.
mmm40...maybe you had already updated yours if you don't see it there....hopefully I didn't just make a big mistake by giving it to them.
macrophage 7-3-2006, 6:09 PM If you filled out before, you will not see the box any more. :) which means, once you submit your SSN, you will have not chance to change it later.

Same here, though I did qualify twice and received $2 for each survey.
I signed up with them yesterday, and today I did a $2.00 survey about socks, more specifically, the company, Peds. :)
I hope they keep on coming!
I just signed up....Thanks
happygal 7-6-2006, 10:44 AM Yes, if you are in the medical field, or have a medical condition, you can do very well with them. But otherwise, their surveys can be hard to qualify for. However, I really like them and recommend sticking with them as they do pay and are very reliable. And yes, they, will ultimately ask for your SS# before paying.
KBsDarling 7-6-2006, 1:32 PM Thanks mmm40 What a help you are! :D

Shortness 7-19-2006, 10:49 PM Thanks for the post-
I signed up, however, I have put off entering my SSN. I do not show a padlock on the bottom of my screen, so I'm scared to put it in. Any of you concerned?
bethanykay6 7-20-2006, 12:51 AM i signed up also thanks...this is one of the few survey sites that i havent heard or or dont belong to! great to get new ones, just have to keep track of them all..but great when you get the rewards in the mail
happygal 7-20-2006, 5:04 PM I did a big survey for them a month ago and today got $140 in my paypal!!! They are terrific!
Shortness 7-21-2006, 6:09 PM As soon as I answered "yes" to the question of "have you done a research or group survey before, I was not qualified. Of course I have done a survey before. If that's how they disqualify you, I'll never get one. I'm sure as heck not going to be exclusive to them. I appreciate all the surveys I get..
iluvdeals 7-21-2006, 10:21 PM I just registered but it didn't ask for a SSN.

Been having the same trouble :( Not gonna be real active there if you can only do 1 survey anywhere every 6 months lol
steinle 7-25-2006, 5:14 PM Beware of the Brand Institute!
They have a so called recruiting board where you can earn money with every new member. I was a member of this panel and I recruit colleagues to join.
My colleagues fulfilled lots of long surveys but they got nothing. So did I.
Save time and money do not join.
I just completed a 15.00 survey for them. I will let you all know when I receive payment.
macrophage 7-25-2006, 7:09 PM Me, too :cheesy:
It tests my Spanish level.... :cheesy:
It always pays within 4 weeks.

I have this same problem with them. I qualified for one survey, only because they didn't ask this question. I was paid via Paypal within a few days. I can't believe they would actually expect a person who signed up with them not to have ever done a survey before. I don't really see how your doing a survey about potato chips would compromise their survey about socks.
I am also concerned about this SS# "requirement". No one else asks for this! I REALLY regret having given it to them. I hope it isn't some scam.

Naw, you are fine. They are just covering their butts. Professionals can earn a pretty good sum in a year. The company is just doing what they need to for government tax purposes. Places like Test Spin avoid this by only permitting you to earn $600.00 or less per year. No government tax headaches for them that way.
Thanks, mmm40, that makes me feel better :gdthankyou:
I just received a 10.00 payment for a suvey I took last month.
KBsDarling 7-27-2006, 12:54 PM so do you just say no you havent done a survey then?
so do you just say no you havent done a survey then?
They never ask me. I have been trying to figure out what you all have been talking about. I paid close attention to the survey invite they sent me yesterday and nowhere in the invite letter, or within the survey itself, did it ask me that question. The closest they come is asking me have a taken a survey on "such and such" in the last "such and such" time period.
KBsDarling 7-27-2006, 2:20 PM it is the first thing i get asked when I load up a survey from them.

Are you new? Maybe it is something new or for new people? I have no clue. I have no recollection of ever seeing this. That means squat though, I do not remember giving them my SS # either! I have been a member for a long time and I know it has not been asked in any recent surveys. Huh?? :g_shrug:

I have written e-mail to argue about this. probably useless.

Oh, no. I misunderstood you. I took a 2.00 survey and the 15.00 survey for them. They only paid me the 2.00 one. I didn't realize you meant they only paid you 2 of the 15 they owed you. That is really odd. They have never done this to me........... yet.

I just got the remaining 13.00.
I emailed the woman, who's address I posted above, twice and got no answer.
Then they sent me an invitation for another 15.00 survey. I replied to it saying " I would love to take and complete this survey. Unfortunately, the last time you invited me to do a 15.00 survey you only paid me 2.00 of the promised 15.00. I did complete the survey in it's entirety and no one will respond to my emails regarding the issue."
Later that day I emailed that woman Again. This time I put in the subject line "PLEASE FORWARD TO A SUPERVISOR SINCE YOU WON"T ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM"
I got my 13.00 today.
Persistence, assertiveness and tenacity pays off.

frankscout383 11-28-2006, 10:31 PM Hi I was never askes for SSN and yes I am with them and have been paid. As a matter of fact I was just paid last week by them through paypal, They are legite.
asilenceblossom 11-29-2006, 12:14 PM I just registered. How long does it take to get an i nvite to take a survey? About how many survey invites does one typically get per month?
Mommax2in2006 11-29-2006, 3:00 PM I am with them also but i get the "better paid surveys" because I am a Nurse. I have made about $50.00 with them last month.

They will eventually. I was a member for 8 - 12 months before they asked me for mine.
tyler99199 11-29-2006, 3:52 PM They asked for my ssn on a 2.00 check. got paid but never heard from them since.

I just find out that I have already been registered with them.

The same problem here.
I want to ask people that got in to such survey - do I have to check that I didn't do any survey during the month or what. I don't like the idea that they will ask me again and again about this. I will never qualify for any of them. :(

i signed up last week..and got invite to 3 dollar survey...i like that they sent a confirmation email that i did infact complete survey and will get compensation and i like that i didnt have to wait months to get first invite. :)

Just a piece of advice. Pay close attention to whether or not you get paid and if you are paid the correct amount. If you haven't read the entire thread, I recommend doing so. It will explain their shenanigans and how I have had to deal with them in the past. ;) Congrats on the good luck you have had with them so far!

Ya know what? I have never even bothered to read that area. They make payments to PayPal the last week of the month. If you got your survey in before that date you will have payment in your account then. Watch these guys carefully. Make sure they pay you what they should and the correct amount. They tend to mess up. Read this thread to see how I have had to deal with them in the past.
Good Luck.
beachbum2555 4-24-2007, 3:15 PM Ok it should be in there next week then, I will make sure to keep track of everything I do with them. Thank you for your help!

The survey has to be closed out first and then I thought it was every month. You have to have completed the survey by a certain date to get paid in the next payment period. At least this is how it used to be done. Keep on these guys though. They can jerk you around. In this thread I posted the name of who to email directly about this stuff. If that doesn't work put in the subject line "FORWARD TO A Supervisor"

judithra 6-13-2007, 9:47 AM Thanks for the reminder. They owe me money.
I sure hope you don't have the problems I am having with them trying to receive payment on all I am owed.. You really, really have to keep excellent records on the surveys you do with them, and even then it's like pulling teeth.. They make alot of mistakes on what is owed to you for each survey.. I probably wont ever receive another survey from them as I don't let up on them lol
zingerhil 6-13-2007, 10:25 AM I joined Brand Institute in November and haven't heard a peep from them since. But after reading some of these posts, maybe that's a good thing.
pastasalad 6-13-2007, 11:25 AM I am/was a member of BI and I honestly have mixed feelings about them-some of you may remember awhile back a posting on craigslist that ended up being a referal link for BI where the guy was promising a $45(I think that was the amt) survey-
I even contacted the craigslist guy who told me he knew someone at BI and for me to go ahead and contact whoever I needed to that basically nothing would happen to him etc-
I went round n round with a guy that works at BI saying that I felt this was very misleading-that the guy who posted the ad on craigslist couldnt possibly guarentee that everyone, let alone anyone would get into "that" survey he was posting etc...I was told he was a recruiter and if wanted I could be one too.
Right after that I got about 5 surveys a day for well over a week and qualified for all of them-I refused to take them for fear the guy would make money off me-I closed my account shortly after that and am undecided if I am going to sign up with them again-
I despise sneakiness and what that guy did was down right wrong-imho
sorry for the rant-guess I need more go-go juice
If you backtrack in this thread I posted how I have gotten them to pay me. My keyboard is dead or I'd post it again. Using the one screen keyboard is a huge pain.
judithra 6-18-2007, 9:03 AM I cant bring their site up, just like survey spot over the weekend, I receive page cannot be displayed..it's been that way a long time, kinda concerned as they owe me money..
zingerhil 6-21-2007, 7:09 PM Just had one for $10 in my inbox but I DNQ. I hope someone gets in :)
judithra 8-20-2007, 3:05 PM Mommyx2... Read back thru the threads as a few of us have had similar problems,, it took me months to get the all money owed to me, they doled it out little by little. I finally did what Miranda did..They have great paying surveys, but getting your money is a hassle from them and getting the right amount is always another problem.. Be sure and double check all that is owed to you.. I save every survey and survey confirmation from them.. you can email this person..
