I have a question.....I just tried to take a survey and they asked me what type of surveys have you taken in the last 3 months and I answered, being completely honest, maybe I forgot 1 or 2 not sure but I went thru the list and double checked and they kept telling me it was an invalid response.... what is up with that? they told me that 3 times..... It was OTX ??????

mmm40
6-19-2007, 12:33 AM
OTX always has bugs. It a big part of why I don't take their surveys anymore.

Theres a new survey up.... 60 minutes :gdwow:

if you complete the survey it's worth $15.00 and a chance in the $25,000 sweepstakes

I don't know if anybody else does this, but if the choices for the surveys say "A Fun New Survey" or "A Survey For You", I never even select them because they always seem to be OTX surveys, which I avoid like the plague. Does anybody else do this?

mmm40

Yup. I despise OTX.

Yup. I despise OTX.

Good to see I'm not the only one, I've reached the point of instantly closing the survey window if it pops up an OTX survey. Just a few too many "technical errors" 40 minutes into a 45 minute survey for my taste, ugh.

For everyone without the available surveys link make sure to write them via theur contact us. I did and they told me it was because my account had been deactivated b/c emails were bouncing back at them. I added them to my safe email list and they reactivated my account. HTH

I just took a survey for $3. It was virtual shopping for feminine products. They had me go to the 'store' 20 times for the same thing.

I have a question for those of you who may have been in the situation. I was expecting two checks from SurveySpot - one was issued on June 8, and the other was issued on June 21. I received the check issued June 21 yesterday. I have not received the one issued June 8 (of course it was the bigger one - $15!) I sent them an email but have not heard back from them. Anybody ever had this happen to them? I know they say to wait 30 days, but it makes me wonder if it was lost since I received the other one already.

Did anyone do the home improvement survey for 10.00 recently? I got through most of it and then I just couldn't get to the next page. I emailed them, but have yet to hear from them. Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem. I like survey spot(I've cashed out 50.00 in the last few months) so I hope they let me finish it or still give me some payment.

I took the 15 dollar survey and made it thru 30 mins then the computer said my dsl was too slow..it was fine up until that!!! I shot them an email and haven't heard a thing..turned around 40 mins later and they sent me another survey for 3 dollars that was faulty..so I emailed again..I lost out on 18 dollars in 45 mns.

I have not had any problems with SurveySpot, other that I did not receive a $15 check they issued, but when I notified them after thirty days were up, they reacted reasonably fast and reissued the check. I find that it usually takes on average about 2 to 4 weeks for any surveys to show up on my payments page, and about 2 weeks at the longest to receive payments I've requested. I just avoid all of the OTX surveys they offer.

mmm40

4-6 weeks is standard. Plan on 4 to 8 weeks. Remember, it's 4-6 (8) weeks After The Survey Closes that they make credits. That's not necessarily 4-8 (8) weeks from the time you completed the survey. You will get your money. They are very good about paying people.

They mail checks bi-monthly. Pretty consistently, they mail them around the first week - week and a half of the month and the second - second week and a half of the month. Occasionally, they will mail a third check out in the month. It happens the last week of the month. I have found no consistent pattern to when/why they send another check at this time. Cash out at the beginning of these weeks to maximize the size of your checks. If you have cashed out more than 3 times they will only send 3 checks out at a time. Lately, they will only send 2 out at a time. This means one check sits until the next payment period. This isn't in "the rules" but they do this pretty consistently. I imagine it's to get you to cash out less frequently so they have to cut fewer checks. That saves them money and you end up with the same amount of cash in the end.

I don't know about you folks, but recently I've been receiving a lot of Opinion ELITE and Tech ELITE surveys from SurveySpot.

I don't mind being recognized as an Elite, but the only thing those surveys offer are more sweepstakes entries

Don't get me wrong, but if you consider me to be an ELITE, you acknowledge that I am somehow valuable to SurveySpot. :smart:

Not a particularly effective way for them to show that they value my opinion. :yuck: Actually, it's quite insulting to be rewarded only in more sweepstakes entries.

Otherwise am I supposed to toss these away along with all the other surveys which don't pay?

Please do not start a new thread for companies that have an existing thread. It keeps things more organized. It also help prevent the posting of the same questions multiple times. When researching companies or when we have questions we need only go the the companies thread and read the thread to get a better understanding of the company or get an answer to a question. Please read through the thread before posting a question. Chances are it has been asked and answered, several times. If you don't want to read the entire thread to find your question/answer you can perform a search inside the thread itself. On the top right hand side of your screen, underneath the page numbers, is a tool for searching within a thread.

Yea, the sweepstakes entries only are nuisances but they are also MOSTLY pretty fast to complete. If I am doing a survey and it's boring as hell as well as loooong, I just leave it.

My husband gets like 10 surveys from this company a day. Every time i log into his account though, it doesnt show he has any money. He says he has qualified for quite a few of there money surveys but mainly just ALOT of sweepstakes entries.
My questions: how long does it take to show you've qualified for money surveys
and when are these sweeps drawings and has ne one ever won from them?

decarillion
3-18-2008, 1:50 AM
It does take awhile. Btw, I got a check in the mail today from them for $59. When you log into your/his account, there will be text saying 'you have new unclaimed rewards' so you don't actually have to go into the account balance to see if anything has been deposited there.

I had a chuckle today at the post office. I was at the window sending a package, and opened up the check while I was there. I was surprised to see it was a check, and the clerk said to me, oh, um, is that for surveys? surveyspot.com? I laughed and said yea. So she asked me if I did surveys, etc. and I gave her the url to this site and to Greenfield. She had been wondering if surveys were all scams :P

I am at my wits end w/them. Almost every survey that comes that is a paying one the last several months, the link doesn't work. I have reported it and my frustration at this problem, but all I manage to get is their "canned" response that they have given me an entry into the sweepstakes. Well so freakin' what, about every 3rd time i do the sweeps I end up w/100 entries into the sweepstakes but have yet to ever even see a list of the winners (guess I get sidetracked when I start to look for them), but I guess my point is 1 more entry doesn't help much. Does anyone have any suggestions as to something I might be doing wrong or is it a problem that SurveySpot has frequently? I never have any problems w/the links in their sweeps.

What bowser are you using?

I will try dumping the temp files again but it hasn't helped before. The only thing I have ever used is IE. I have pasted the link instead of just clicking on it but that doesn't work either. In the last 3 or 4 days I have gotten probably 4 that were paying ones, & none went thru. 2 just wouldn't open & the usual happened w/the other where it went to the screen that tells you that the survey you are looking for isn't available right now. I know that they send to so many that they get overloaded & I guess that isn't as bothersome as the links that don't seem to work, esp when it always is the ones that pay money. I just can't help but wonder if it doesn't "sku" the results, but maybe it only happens to a few ppl & not a whole bunch.

For some reason now, I am no longer getting SurveySpot invitations. The last time I did was a few weeks ago, and all 4 invitations took me to the signup page rather than the surveys...

It makes me think that they have cancelled my membership, which wouldn't make sense cause I've done nothing wrong (and I can still sign into the main page and see my earnings). I have emailed their tech support, so hopefully that helps, but I'd be really bummed if they screwed me over and I can't take surveys from them anymore... has anyone else had this problem?

I never wait for surveys to come, I log in all the time and take the surveys offered there, usually do 2-3 sweeps and then a paying one will pop up and it seems that by logging in often and taking a few surveys increases the good paying ones emailed to me also of which I do really good, I just had a $35 one emailed to me and a $20 paying one by logging in and doing two free surveys..

I used to do that all the time and there were always surveys listed, but not anymore. Now whenever I check there's either nothing listed or an MP3 survey that is for sweepstakes. Seriously, that MP3 one has been there for months.

I still like SurveySpot though, and just requested a check yesterday for $38. :)

Question...yesterday I received a survey from them and I went through. Well, it asked me to sign up for another survey website called Smarty Pants. I went ahead and did it but then something didn't feel right so I unsubscribed. Has anybody ever had that happen?

I did two surveys.

So....we do free ones and then paid ones will get emailed occasionally?

SO I don't get anthing for doing the 2 probably? Oh well. It's a start.

A "friend" told me about this one...so I figured I'd get registered....;)

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually I have SurveySpot in my Allowed and Trusted sites and still can't get on.

This happened once before and mysteriously went away and I could access the site again. I wracked my brain to try to review what was different on the day I finally got on and can't see any difference.

I'm going to email them.
Thanks!

I have been getting tons of surveys from them as well as Greenfield and others. And just like you, everytime I get a paying survey I never qualify all of the way through. :(

I have a question, sorry if it was answered before. I had made some money with Survey Spot, but I wish to understand why some people like it so much. For me this survey site is rather below average.
I get plenty of invitations from Survey Spot, most of them are for sweepstakes. I usually do paid ones and sometimes short surveys for sweeps, when I have time. Many members are saying that some of the sweepstakes surveys are actually for the product tests.
What about financial services surveys? I am getting them time to time, 20 or 25 minuets for sweeps. I never tried, just wondering what is the deal. It can not be product test, I guess :)
Sometimes payout seems to be very low. Like today I got one 35 minuets for $1.
Does anyone actually do all this low/no paying surveys?
Also, anybody ever won anything from them?

I have to disagree with your opinion of Survey Spot, I have been a member for over 2 and half years now.. I average anywhere from $50-$75 per month from them.. They pay quickly, 2-4 weeks max, which is quick for survey companies. Their communication with members is excellent. They resolve any/all problems quickly.
For your question about low paying surveys( 25-30 mins for a $1) no I do not waste my time doing them. but I do sweeps when I have the extra time and it's for my benefit, as I receive more paying ones by doing so.. When I receive a invite for such and such $$ amount, I average it out by the hour, if I feel it is fair, I'll do the survey. I have received my fair share of product tests from Survey Spot. The financial surveys I try to avoid for just sweepstakes as they are reduntant and tiresome, but yes I do one now and then.,but no way is there a "product test" involved with a financial survey lol.
Yes people have won on the spins or scratch offs.. Someone posted a while back that won a $100 Nike G.C. as far as the sweepstakes, not that I know of and anyone that thinks they will win out of 1,000's & 1,000's of people that compete for them is very naive..Yes, I know someone has to win, but the odds are certainly stacked against us. I never give them a second thought. The only way extra money comes my way is by investing my time doing surveys. and no way is there a "product test" involved with a financial survey lol.

I've given up on these people. I refuse to sit and do a survey for even 20 minutes for $1.00. I think if more more of us put their foot down and didn't do these low paying surveys they would have to increase the payout. My time is worth more to me than $1.00.

I totally agree with you, no one, NO one should spend a tedious length of time for a $1.00 and you are totally right, if we all put our foot down and refuse to do them, they would increase payout on these particular surveys... but I also have to say I very, very rarely receive these $1.00 invites. I think they send them out to see how many people WILL take them. But I do, do the $3.00 surveys for 15 mins as that averages out to $12.00 a hour.. $5.00 for 15-20 mins averages out to close to $20.00 a hour.. $5.00 for 30 mins is $10 a hour..Maybe yall don't feel this way, but I feel these amounts are fair and believe me these amounts add up quickly in a month.. Im sorry some of you have had bad luck with Survey Spot, but then again you might be doing better with another company that I might be doing poorly. It all depends on the demograpics, not just location, but age, family, etc.. for each company.. one question I need to ask is do you check your Survey Spot home page for surveys and if you have available surveys , do you do them or do you just check the ones you receive in your email? I check my page very often during the course of day and evening, if there isnt a paying one, I find that if I take a couple of the none paying ones, after the first two or three short ones, large paying surveys start popping up..

I thought it might just be my opinion that the surveys were tedious and for low rewards.

I've earned $5 so far. Was wondering though if anyone's won from the sweepstake prizes? Were they to draw this week?

I guess it is my demographics or something. I almost never qualify for product tests and only occasionally qualify for paying surveys.
I don't like feeling rejected and Survey Spot does it all the time :)
