whoever told you that anemics can't breastfeed is full of it. All you have to do is make sure you continue with your prenatel vitamins, and eat lots of protein, and you'll be find.

Do a search on breastfeeding and anemia, you'll find tons of stuff.

And check out your local freecycle for baby clothes and other items.

Kelloggs makes frosted miniwheats - they make them in vanilla and strawberry that are very sweet and delicious. They are FULL of Iron - almost 90% of you daily needs. When I delivered my twins I was extremely anemic (they threatened a blood transfusion) and my Dr. recommended these to me. I ate them and got my iron levels raised in no time. You can also take slow absorption iron pills that help. Yes, it was harder to get the milk and I was very tired, but it did come in. The babies were in the NICU so I couldn't breastfeed but I pumped and the hospital gave me a pump to use. If you want to breastfeed, don't let being anemic deter you at all!

The strawberry ones are SOOOOOO good too. I could eat an entire box and not think twice about it.:gdlicklips:

Yes, you did but I replied to your threadjacking. Maybe we could find her some coupons for the Frosted Mini Wheats. :smirk:

Well, I know it doesnt help at the moment, but you CAN get the frosted mini wheats with WIC. We get the strwberry ones mostly, but I still love the plain ones!

And PM me your address, I have some formula coupons I can send you. Are you on Medicaid? If so, ask for a box of formula at the hospital. They will send it home with you.

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone had some baby formula coupons they arn't using. My son is almost six months old and eats like a horse. we run out of formula a couple of weeks before we get wic. Formula is so expensive anything would help. And we are already getting close to running out of formula again.

Thank You in Advance

We found that the Parent's Choice stuff from Wal-Mart was a lot cheaper than the name-brand stuff even if we would have used the coupons. Wal-Mart's brand was exactly the same as Bright Beginnings. I have heard the Target brand is really good as well. I think after having tried all of the major brands of formula and the Wal-Mart brand, I would probably still use their generic if cost wasn't a factor. It didn't stink as bad, and it didn't have as many gas bubbles as the others.
