I am yet to begin... so I have no clear idea about what i have to look for.

It's typically ~$100.

For a better quality keyboard you would need to start looking in the $400-$600 price range. For this $100 range, Yamaha and Casio are going the be the best quality.

Try Target. I saw several on clearance back in electronics when I was there last weekend. they were at 30% off then. I need to go check out the perimeter again tomorrow or Saturday ;)

I bought my son's at Walmart. They have some nice Yamaha ones at good prices

one add on question I saw Casio Mini-Size Keyboard SA75 on walmarts site. is this ok for a kid? I wish to get one for my 3 year old daughter. so that she can also develop some interest in music.
