At my local Target last night, they had a big display of Eveready batteries near the door, every package was $1. Choices were:
2 9V
4 AAA
4 AA
4 C
and I think 4 D, might have been 2 D.

Even though they may not last as long as Energizers (who manufactures Evereadys), at that price it is worth it. The ones I got do expire in 12/2006 though, which is a little sooner than batteries normally expire.

These are not located in the electronics dept or near registers, but in the 'Dollar Spot' section of Target. Heads up, as Target is changing the merchandise in the 'Dollar Spot' the older stuff is currently 50% off, so 50¢ each. YMMV

Interesting, I never knew Target had something called a "Dollar Spot." Maybe that's what that display is that I walk past every time I walk in the door. :)

Yep that's where the dollar spot is in Targets. In the corner before the first register. They are clearancing in target stores nationwide coming up here in about a week. I ALSO work for Energizer in Targets (along with Fuji LOL) and Walmarts and Best Buys and Kmarts..............
