Looking for a Dell desktop for my relatives. I don't care if it comes in a package that I buy all at once or if I buy it in stages. I'd prefer the cheapest price possible but of course if multiple orders must be placed, that's fine too.

I'd like a modern system for them that will last a while. They don't need dual core or anything but at least a P4, DVD-ROM drive, burner, etc. They need a printer and a large (19" min) LCD monitor as well. I don't want legacy or proprietary Dell tech.

I have never purchased a Dell system so I don't know what sort of price range I am looking at. What is considered a "hot deal" in regards to their systems? That way I can start paying attention.

Thanks.

I built a $1500 system on Dell about a month ago (including an all-in-one printer) that ended up being $976 after Dell specials and a 30% off coupon code I found. Mine has everything you're looking for and then some. Keep an eye out for the coupon codes, that's what saved me.
