So in recent years people have battled each other in stores for Furbies, Tickle Me Elmo, etc...what stands out this year as the must-have toy? I've seen that tumbling Tigger around a lot, & Dora stuff seems to be big, but what's #1?

I know all I've heard about is the Amazing Amanda doll from my daughter and all her friends. I even heard mothers talking about the doll at my daughter's preschool.

I'm on the young side (the year of the cabbage patch insanity was the year i was born) , & it's still jarring to me to see things that were big when i was a kid coming back...i keep saying i shouldve kept my my little ponies for my 2 yo neighbor! i guess 20 or so years is the amt of time it takes for things to go away & come back? :g_think:

Oh My, do I feel old now LOL  I was only 6 or 7 when there was the insanity over Cabbage Patch Kids the first time, so it's not too bad :giggle:

Thank God my little girl doesn't want the $100 creepy "chucky" talking doll! The Furbies were more than enough for me!

Got my daughter Amazing Amanda and it cost me $79. It was on sale at TRU for 89 then I had the $10 gift card making my balance $79 then I got another gift card because it was over $75

I saw that "Amazing Amanda" doll at WM and could not believe it was $99.96!!! I actually kept some of my Strawberry Shortcake dolls and some action figures from the "original" Star Wars movies. My kids have really enjoyed them.

My most exciting purchase was my son's dirt bike. I have been looking into buying him one & Pep Boys had the cheapest beginner's bike that I could find. I went up there on BF to just look at it & it was $100 off from 7am-11am. It was 11:03am so I snatched the ticket & ran to the cashier. You ought to see me stuffing a little 50cc bike into my Toyota Camry!!!

Nope, I wasn't checking the hot deals and coupon sections of the forums then. I was mainly in the gotta talk lounge. Wish I had it then but it's too late now

I read that the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn house is supposed to be popular for the babies this year. It got very high marks in the reviews. Almost every store has them for $59.95, but Meijers wants $99.95!!!! Robbery!!! I wonder what the person who priced it at Meijers was thinking (or smoking)???

The FP Laugh and Learn house is amazing! My youngest, who is seventeen months, LOVES it! He's had it for about six months now and it's the one thing he plays with for hours each day. He loves opening and closing the big door, playing the "radio", ringing the door bell, and opening and closing the windows. I'm sure it's something he will play with for at least another year or so. I was hesitant to buy it, but am so glad I did! It is definitely well worth the $60. I can't believe one store is trying to sell it for $100, though! That's nuts!

I'm not sure if they are making that anymore. I haven't found it anywhere. I bought one for my son 2 years ago for christmas and now my nephew wants one. Can't seem to find it anywhere.

XBOX 360. I'm lucky to have grabbed two online; we'll see if they show up on the shelves in the weeks to come, but since launch NOBODY has had these on the shelves.

One thing that my dd has asked for and I just looked to see how much it was is that zero gravity rc hummers. They are out everywhere and cost anywhere from 49.99 to 69.99. We will be getting it for her for her bday in feb. I imagine they will be in stik by then.

I bought that last year (and strangely it was cheaper last year!) for my daughter, who was 13 months old at the time. It is still one of her favorite toys this year, plus her older brothers (ages 4 and almost 6) will still play with it. The neighbor kids (same age group) also love to play with it when they come over. It's one of the best toys I've ever bought! :)

I finally invested in the energizer rechargable batteries. It comes with the wall charger and car adapter to charge on the go. Charges in 15 minutes! Gotta love that.

Don't know if I would consider these HOT toys, but I had a heck of a time finding the moon shoes and Doodle Monster. Nobody seemed to have the moon shoes when I went to get any, which was after BF. Then I just lucked into the Doodle Monster today, thanks to people on this board. :D

I paid $949 for a Premium console, extra wireless controller, play & charge kit, and eight games.

And nobody knows exactly when they are shipping more, but it will be well before XMas. This is prime shopping season and Microsoft knows it.

I don't think it's a matter of things taking that amount of time to come back. I think it's a genius marketing ploy because the toymakers know that the kids that had/wanted them when they were popular before have kids now and will buy them for their kids because of the memories.
