Of course my son is first on my list! He's all boy, so most of the time he's nice and naughty! Some of the things he comes up with I couldn't repeat on here and he is only 5! :mischievo

View Full Version : Naughty or nice? Who's tops on your list? amiller17 10-6-2005, 10:12 PM Of course my son is first on my list! He's all boy, so most of the time he's nice and naughty! My son will get something, but he's too young to remember or care. :D The first part is the perfect answer for a husband to say - but remember if your wife is like most mom's she has a baby book that she will write in and so you need to get the little one something extra special because years later it' ll be there in print for him to read what you got him for Christmas - especially if it's his first year. My son's dad is a jerk and I am having a hard time filling in his baby book because of things like this. He turned 5 in Sept. and Dad still hasn't gotten him a card or anything, but he has the money to buy hunting gear, license for him and his other son and other things that he wants. It may not bother my son to read it 15 years from now but I don't know that for sure and I don't want to write lies. So far I just omit it. If he ask when he is older I will tell him. elena_398 10-6-2005, 10:54 PM No one naughty this year. Of course I threaten the kids when their bad that Santa won't bring them anything (I know so cruel), but all in all they're pretty good! Booterbunz 10-6-2005, 11:04 PM My daughter, since she'll be old enough to rip into the gifts this year and of course hubby since he'll just be getting home from Iraq! hhockman 10-6-2005, 11:23 PM My older son (he's 3 1/2). Like the PP, he's old enough to really enjoy it this year (last year he just liked opening the paper, didn't care what was inside). And also my younger son. He won't remember a thing, but it's his first Christmas. And my husband. I guess. ;) Gator Pam 10-7-2005, 10:04 AM Husband, Paul, and my 12 year old son, Beorn. Beorn is particularly difficult to shop for as he has mild Asperger's Syndrome (http://campus.houghton.edu/orgs/psychology/Asperger/) and never really expresses interest in anything for a gift. He's never written a letter to Santa, or a wish list. So I have to observe him and guess at what his current interest is. mrn8 10-7-2005, 10:15 AM The first part is the perfect answer for a husband to say - but remember if your wife is like most mom's she has a baby book that she will write in and so you need to get the little one something extra special because years later it' ll be there in print for him to read what you got him for Christmas - especially if it's his first year. While the new Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and neighbors spoiled him rotten, we just got him an oak toybox and storage containers..... and besides, they don't play with the toys nearly as long as they play with the boxes BigBob 10-7-2005, 12:09 PM I always try to buy something naughty for her just to be nice ! :sib: Kandy 10-7-2005, 1:08 PM My kids 12 & 10 are # 1 on my list, then the hubby. My husband and I exchange gifts but nothing major. Its the kids day! biomajor 10-13-2005, 2:12 PM My 8 yr old granddaughter. :hearthrob I have custody of her so she is my priority. Then come the other grandkids, after her. :holiday02 Will your other grandkids resent that? My kids do. Maybe you are more "fair" than my MIL is though ;) My son especially resents that my MIL didn't remember to send him a card or even call on his birthday but spent $300 on a party for my niece because she lives with her AND bought her a horse. Last year, my son got his birthday card in the Christmas box from her, with 2 sweatshirts that were the wrong size even though I told her what size he wore. He can wear a Medium, but prefers the Large, and she sent Smalls. His birthday was yesterday. He's 16 and old enough that I'm not going to try to explain. He draws his own conclusions and he's tired of it. I'm tired of trying to explain something that I find unacceptable. My kids are tops, then my husband. The kids are more fun to shop for, but my husband usually does pretty well in the gift department too :) amez74 10-13-2005, 3:17 PM Lots of Dec. 13th b-days--my dad's is also that day!! I've got my four children to buy for, my dh, both sets of parents, and we'll draw names among my nieces and nephews (so another four gifts). I do all the Christmas shopping which I don't mind I really enjoy it--unfortunately some years my husband really has to get motivated to buy me something, other years he goes all out. Maybe some years I'm naughty:D darkkan 10-13-2005, 3:27 PM DH's family never contacts us (even though we have made efforts), so they are all off of our list this year. My DH and wonderful little boys (6 and 3) will be at the top, of course, along with my parents and my 3 yr-old neice. ghort 10-13-2005, 4:45 PM My wife is number 1 on my list. And number 2 and 3. Gporter34 10-13-2005, 8:14 PM The kids, hubby, Mom, MIL, then pets. Then come all of those gifts the kids think they have to buy for ALL of their friends. lol biomajor 10-13-2005, 8:22 PM The kids, hubby, Mom, MIL, then pets. Then come all of those gifts the kids think they have to buy for ALL of their friends. lol Don't you love those gifts??? My daughter has about 25 people on her list this year. I've found lip glosses for 25 cents and belts for 99cents to go in these cute little boxes that I found last year for like 15 cents each after Christmas. My son doesn't do that--it might be a girl thing--he only buys a gift for the girl he likes at the time. Gporter34 10-13-2005, 8:24 PM I think their list gets longer every year. I think I am going to have to put a limit on all of it. lol graciescaptor 10-16-2005, 9:43 AM Here's an idea for the kids friends gifts...at least for girls. My daughter is 11 and she likes to make friendship bracelets...a huge pack of embroidery floss is around $10 an she will be able to make a ton of them. Put it in a little cheap stocking (.50 or less) and a candy cane and there you go. Also check out craft stores or Oriental Trading Company (they have a web site) for bead bracelet kits or ornament kits for really cheap. I'm thinking of letting my daughter have a Christmas craft party with a few of her friends one afternoon. On the other hand...I have 14 people at work to buy for..any suggestions? Can't make cookies or anything like that because some people are really wierd about eating food they haven't made. graciescaptor 10-16-2005, 9:47 AM Oh, and my kids are tops on the list because the nice outweighs the naughty most of the time. Then my hubby, who is the hardest in the world to buy for, then nieces, and all parents. Don't exchange gifts with siblings, we decided a few years ago why bother? We are all capable of buying whatever we want and we aren't together for the holidays so it was a group decision. When it got to the point where we were saying "get something for yourself for $XXX from me and I'll do the same on my end" it seemed pointless. StephanieD 10-16-2005, 10:00 AM I don't have any kids, so my husband is first on my list. My Christmas shopping list is not very long. After my husband, I have 2 nieces, 1 nephew, my mother, my father, my sister, my mother-in-law, my two grandfathers, and we give cards to the rest of my extended family and friends. My husband and I tend to go overboard for each other, but I'm sure that will all change once we have children. biomajor 10-16-2005, 10:56 AM Don't exchange gifts with siblings, we decided a few years ago why bother? When it got to the point where we were saying "get something for yourself for $XXX from me and I'll do the same on my end" it seemed pointless. I know--my brothers decided that years ago, but I like to get them a little something just so they have something to open--a CD or a cute fishing lure or just something :-) They don't buy me gifts, and I don't care, but it wouldn't be Christmas if I didn't have something for them!! I have super cheap cd's and stuff I bought last year after Christmas that I plan to give them this year. graciescaptor 10-16-2005, 11:11 AM Well, it's my hubby's sis and hubby. I would have no idea what to get them. If we were together then I'm sure we would exchange gifts. They come for Turkey day so we try to have the kids gifts bought and wrapped so they go home with them when they leave and they leave my kids gifts. I'd like to buy them something but it really is pointless. Hubby and his sis are also wayyyyy too practical so I doubt they see the point in buying for one another just because. Kinda sad really.:cry2: SuperMommy 10-26-2005, 4:13 PM My daughter and my husband are the top of my list!!! :yelclap: Jenniferharrison82 10-27-2005, 2:28 PM My son comes first (he's 3 1/2), then my husband, and then other family members.. copados1993 10-28-2005, 1:07 PM My Mother-in-law!!!!!!!!
