My first time shopping on BF was in 2003. I always saw the ads, but never went because I was too lazy to wake up. The first item I bought is ATI Radeon 9600. :)

My Grandmother used to take me shopping the day after Thanksgiving long before I knew what Black Friday was. I sure could make $20 go a long way in the early 80s!

Then came high school & college in the early 90s which meant working retail every year for Black Friday.

My first BF was in 1998. Love it now as much as I did then!

It was the year Walmart had the Game Boy Advance for, like $45-- I think it was three years ago, but could be misremembering.

Got hooked on the adrenaline rush and now am totally addicted to it!

It was 2002 that I first got up early to be in line...in the 90s I did my shopping during more "normal" hours that day though.

My first one was 2003. I got off work at a truck stop at 6 AM and got to Wal-Mart at 6:15. Nothing I really needed, but I got a DVD/VCR combo and a couple other things. I missed last year, but plan on going this year in full force.

I think the first time I went might have been 1995 since that's when I got my first computer at Walmart. :)

My first was in the late 50's. Ooops...wasn't even born then! :giggle:

Actually, in college we used to go to all the stores. Just knew it as after T-Day. Little did I know there was a rabid pack of animals doing the same thing worldwide! I feel so bonded now. <howls>

My 1st time was in 1999 - I had just gotten married in July and my husband left to go hunting Thanksgiving night.

Since I couldn't sleep very well that night, I woke up at 4, shopped until 7:30 and then went into work.

Luckily, the place that I work at now gives us the day after Thanksgiving off, so I never have to worry about that scenario again! :gd_not_ri

It was 1998, and I went to Walmart to get a TV and Playstation for the dorm room. :)

My first BF was 2004 and it was a mess - no plan we just got in the SUV and went. At least we were smart enough to take the SUV. The first few stores we walked out of without much or nothing at all. Meijers was another story - an employee said you have to buy it by 11 or 12 and even if you were in line at that time if it wasn't paid for by the sales end you where SOL. I grabbed a few things and got in line. I wasn't risking it - now I would have to agrue with them. Wal-mart, which isn't a favorite of mine still had items after the noon deadline and was letting you have them for that price. I liked that.

I can't picture Meijers telling someone that if they were in line in time that they wouldn't be allowed to have the item. What are they gonna do? Go to each cart and take stuff out again? :g_shrug:
