Lame shopping joke:

It was the day of the big sale. Rumors of the sale (and some advertising in the local paper) were the main reason for the long line that formed by 8:30, the store's opening time, in front of the store.

A small man pushed his way to the front of the line, only to be pushed back, amid loud and colorful curses. On the man's second attempt, he was punched square in the jaw, and knocked around a bit, and then thrown to the end of the line again. As he got up the second time, he said to the person at the end of the line...

"That does it! If they hit me one more time, I won't open the store!"

Just read this in one of the Indian shop ,

"Our Customers are Kings and a King never Bargains "

Isn't that clever and funny? So I want to adopt this for winning a T-Shirt.

"Brad" is King of "gottadeal.com" and King gives T-Shirt to his people like me ;-).

My son is 11 yrs old so he knows when I go out on BF, I am shopping for Christmas. Last year he saw Walmart had this PS2 game he wanted. Anyway, I told him I wasn't about to spend $20 for a game that looked pretty dumb. He said "I'll prove to you this is a great price, mom". He leaves the room and goes upstairs into his bedroom. He brings down 4 ads from previous weeks and slaps it down on the table in front of me. Each ad has that particular game circled by him. He then says, " you like deals mom, so check out the pricing. Walmart's price is the best. I've been checking around". At the time, it was so funny because its a long standing joke on me that im so tight I squeak. (My husbands opinion! LOL). I had to give the boy his credit. I must be rubbing off on him. He stiffed out the deals too! BTW, he got the game and I need a shirt! LOL. (size 2xl or 3xl). Im top heavy! LOL

Ya gotta love gottadeal.com! After pouring through all the items on last years list, my friend and I met at the first store at 4 am to start collecting bargains. The main item I wanted happened to be one of those "wait in line" kind of things, so as I waited, she ran through the store, getting everything off of her list AND mine! By 5:10 we had everything, I was through the line, and we were checking out and on to the next store. Having this website makes planning my shopping so much easier! Thanks!

I love gottadeal because now, whenever my FILMIL are in the market to buy something, they call me up and have me look on the computer to see if I can find them a better price. FIL does the research on the computer and through Consumer Reports but I get to find him the best deal....and, of course, I come straight to here!

Ok, first time poster here :)

I guess I will be the first to post how I WORK every Black Friday (well, we call it GREEN Friday...for making money ;) )! The last time I was able to go out and enjoy shopping (oxymoron??? :greenappl ) on BF was 8 years ago before I got into the retail business. Many of you are sitting there wondering WHY on EARTH would I be excited about WORKING on such a day full of frenzy. Well the answer is simple: It is fun! Yes we open at 4:30-5 AM every year to about 6 or 7 families/groups waiting outside our doors. People stand in line 3 hours to get an additional 30% off already reduced product. I wear my Santa hat and proudly pass out candy-canes. I walk around singing carols and holiday songs and wear a smile on my face. I don't get a break (except maybe a 15 to scarf down some food) and I have to work at least 12 hours. It is my most favorite day of the year to work and I eat it up! I am very patient with every customer and love the prep to make sure that my employees and I run a smooth ship.
And because I love BF so much, that is why a t-shirt would look great on me :)

I actually started Black Friday shopping about 5 yrs ago. I use to go all by myself and make a complete weekend away out of it not coming home until Sunday. Kid Free wahoo! Nothing like a hotel room to myself! Anyways, that all changed when 2 almost 3 yrs ago, my youngest daughter age 8 at the time..the morning after Thanksgiving as I was sneaking out of the house at 2:45am. I found her asleep by the front door with her winter coat on and the BF list in her hand. Needless to say my weekend without my children came to an end at that moment. She now goes with me every year. She gets a kick out of standing in line in the freezing cold, drinking hot choc. and trying with me to get everyone singing xmas carols to pass the time. We also made shirts last year that said on the front, "You say CRAZY like it's a BAD thing" and on the the back it said, "I LIVE FOR BF"
I think we need new shirts for this year;)

This looks to be a great website. I have just added it to my favorites. We always search high and low for the best deal possible.

I wear a few T-shirts from sponsor's that I like. Working with the UROC (United Rockcrawling and Off-road Challenge) motorsports my sponsor T's are usually BF Goodrich, EK Motorsports, and Teraflex. This would be the first time I would wear a T from a website. I am a great billboard as I am 6 feet tall. When I walk into a room I see heads turning to look, and then they look at my feet to see if I am wearing heels. If the T's are guy style I would need a small. :loli: :crossfing

I have been a BF addict for eight years now and I haven't been able to put the ads down since! ;) I adore the adrenaline I feel when I have to get that last existing toy left on the shelf before the person across the aisle gets it! lol It's like a wild west duel at high noon, sometimes, but always fun! I won't ever stop going -- too much excitement! I always have a good time though, except for a few people who tend to shove, and spend some girl time with my mom and sis!

Joined here last year for BF deals and got the email that the forum was bcak up, so I just had to come back.

My first BF experience was at Wal-Mart when I was 16. My mother was sick and she sent me out. I was so mad she made me get up that early, that I had a HUGE attitude and went barrelling through that store. I got everythign ont he list and was back home in bed by 6:30.

This is the first year I will have to go out on BF without my mom. She is getting a knee replacement on November 7th. If you give me a free t shirt I will not feel as alone because I will know that all of my fellow Gottadeal shoppers will be out there also. Okay that was shameless. But true! LOL I love BF and I love Gottadeal also and would love a shirt. I would wear it with PRIDE!!!!!

I think kulkel and her daughter should win shirts. No, I don't know her, but I would just love to wake up to my sons wanting to go with me one year. That was just a cool story.

I LOVE Black Friday. Somehow I missed this site last year, but I am stoked that I'm here early this year. My husband has to work this year and I have two young boys (3.5 and 4 months right now) so I will probably be recruiting Grandma to babysit and going alone. Usually she goes with me, but I don't think we'll be dragging the baby out. Unless she wants to go. Then we will be dragging the baby out. Because I'm going. Even if I'm done Christmas shopping by then I'm going. :g_dance:

- why you want a free t-shirt

I want something to wear on Black Friday..... What better advertising than a red head wearing advertising carry her HUGE binder coupon bag? I get enough attention being a red, and most people compliment me,so while they're looking at me, Give them a glance at the goods, (not my boobs!;) )
And they see the tshirt...
FREE ADVERTISING!

Well, after this past weekend, it appears that I will be looking for a PSP on BF. In desperation, I needed a babysitter last Friday night and was left with my single and somewhat of a hermit of a younger brother. Of course he has all the video game systems, GameCube, Xbox, this, that, blah, blah. So for the past 3 days, all I have heard from my son is that he wants a PSP. Ugh! I thought I'd finally get through a holiday without buying a video game system!

I've been lurking here forever, registered a few months ago and posted my first post yesterday. I would love a t-shirt.

BF I will be with the band in Disney but my plan is to give SIL $30 and to spend it the best way she can (We've been doing BF shopping for over 25 years together and this will be the first we won't do it). She knows what I like and will get me my best bargains.

My mom and I use to go through the Black Friday adds and plan a route to get to as many stores as wee could to get the freebies they were handing out. This was years ago as they dont seem to give out as much stuff anymore. We would get to Meijers Kmart Jcpenny khls and bestbuy and toys r us before any shopping would start for us.

Well, you'll have to guess again. I joined last year but hardly ever post... busy, busy ;) You'll see the board pick up a lot when the ads release.

Hey scpend! :g_hello:

The deadline for this contest has passed. We will announce the winners during the day tomorrow.

And it's very likely we'll be giving out more shirts, so if you didn't reply to this thread before the deadline, feel free to reply now and you'll be entered for the next batch of shirts :)

Hope it's not too late. I just joined a tonight but visited the sight last year for the BF ads. I'm a WAHM to two sets of twins...both b/g. The older ones are 15 and the younger ones are three. I know....12 years difference. It's a long story....well, maybe not that long but I have to get this posted before midnight.

I gotta tell you I love BF, every year in October I get online and search every site I can for the early BF ads. This is by far the best site I have ever been on. I also like BF because me and my little sister spend the whole day in town together. It is nice because with work we dont get to do that a lot.

I hope to get a free t-shirt because free is my favorite four letter word. I have been a super shopper on black friday for the past eight years, now...scooping up as many bargains as I can. I just moved to the west coast from the east coast and may have to fly back just to shop in familiar territory. The 8.25% tax here in California SUCKS!! I'm used to the 4.5% in Virginia and 5% in Maryland. I price match and bargain shop year round, but Black Friday is my favorite day, because it gives me the opportunity to run off the calories that I picked up the day before. I'm usually dropping off my oldest at one store at 3AM and racing through the aisles grabbing as much of the good stuff as I can, to barter with while I'm checking out, or to pass the savings on to some of my friends and co-workers who couldn't get to the sales. I'd love to be able to wear the t-shirt on Black Friday so that everyone will know where I get my information. I'm glad you guys came up with this site, because I used to have to get copies of the sales ads from my cousin, who works with a distributor for the Washington Post, which didn't give me as much time to plot, plan and strategize. I'll have to really learn the area out here if I want to do the black friday run on the west coast. I don't have any of my friends out here to help me cover the stores the way we usually do. I'll have to get the list and still have them shop for me if I don't fly back east, which is what I REALLY want to do. So now can I PLEASE-E-E have a t-shirt? How about a joke I heard? Will that get me one? Here's how it goes. "Due to a power outage, only one paramedic responded to the call. The house was very, very dark, so the paramedic asked Kathleen, a 3-year-old girl, to hold the light high over her mommy so he could see while he helped deliver the baby. Very diligently Kathleen did as she was asked. Her mother Heidi pushed and pushed, and after a little while Connor was born. The paramedic lifted him by his little feet and spanked him on his bottom. Connor began to cry. The paramedic then thanked Kathleen for her help and asked the wide-eyed 3-year-old what she thought about what she had just witnessed. Kathleen quickly responded, "He shouldn't have crawled in there in the first place. Smack his a** again."

here is my joke:

A man walks into a bar with an octopus under his arm and sets it down on the bar stool next to him. He then tells the bartender that this octopus can play any instrument in the world. Well, the bartender laughs at him, tells everyone else in the bar about this and they all laugh. The man then says "I'll bet anyone here $100 that this octopus can play any instrument". A little while later one guy walks up and hands the octopus a guitar. The octopus takes it and plays it like Jimi Hendrix. Astonished, the guy forks over his hundred bucks. The next guy walks up and hands the octopus a trumpet. The octopus takes it and plays it like Dizzie Gillespie. He too, hands over the $100. A while goes by and then a man walks over and hands the octopus a set of bagpipes. The octopus takes them, fumbles around with them for a couple of minutes and then sets them on the bar. The man's eyebrows go up and he says to the octopus, " what's the mater, can't you play it?", to which the octopus replies, "play it, I'm gonna screw it soon as I get it's pyjamas off!"

We go camping every Thanksgiving and of course shopping on Black Friday. All of the women get up about 4:30 and head to the nearest town which is 30 miles away. We also leave all of the kids with the men. Not only is this a time for bargains but it is a great time for all of the inlaws and outlaws to spend time together.:)

I didn't really get into Black Friday until after having worked retail. Up until then, I dreaded working BF. Having all the people in the store shoving, pushing, and grabbing---YIKES!!! It was a nightmare. Now, since I don't have to work it I go for the deals just like everyone else. I like it cause the cold, day after Thanksgiving, everyone getting out of Turkey mode into Christmas mode. Seems so fun to be among all the excitment.

:2welcome:I've had THREE friends join today. One of them goes by the name "pinklady" I have to ask the other two what their screen names are. I really want to win a holiday card or shirt or SOMETHING FREE, so here's a really cute joke I heard for each one of them.
:rotflol:
The first one is called The Driver, the Priest, and the Lawyer

A truck driver was driving down the highway when he saw a priest at the side of the road. He stopped to pick up the priest and give him a ride.

A ways down the road the driver saw a lawyer on the side of the road. He turned the truck to steer directly toward the lawyer. Then he remembered, "I have a priest in the truck. I can't run down this lawyer," and at the last second he swerved to miss the lawyer.

But he heard a thump outside anyway. He looked in his rear-view mirror but didn't see anything.

He turned to the priest and said, "Sorry Father, I just missed that lawyer at the side of the road."

And the priest said, "Don't worry son, I got him with my door."
:g_laughin
Here's another one that I thought was amusing, called Polly Want a WHAT?

This lady approaches a priest and tells him, "Father, I have a problem. I have these two talking female parrots, but they only know how to say one thing."

"What do they say?" the priest asked.

"They only know how to say, 'Hi, we are prostitutes. Do you want to have some fun?'"

"That's terrible!" the priest exclaimed, "But I have a solution to your problem. Bring your two talking female parrots over to my house and I will put them with my two male talking parrots who I have taught to pray and read the Bible. My parrots will teach your parrots to stop saying that terrible phrase and your female parrots will learn to pray and worship."

"Thank you," said the lady.

The next day, the lady brings her female parrots to the priest's house. The priest's two male parrots are holding rosary beads and praying in their cage.

The lady puts her female talking parrots in with the male talking parrots and the female parrots say, "Hi, we are prostitutes! Do you want to have some fun?"

One male parrot looks over to the other male parrot and screams, "Frank! Put the Bibles away--our prayers have been answered!"
:smiley_nu:
Finally, here's my third and final joke for today, called Lord, Don't Let Me Be Late!

A little girl, dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast as she could, trying not to be late for Bible class.

As she ran she prayed, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late! Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!"As she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress. She got up, brushed herself off,and started running again.

As she ran she once again began to pray, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!...But don't shove me either."

I have to have one of those shirts!!! I love this time of year. My mother and I go to BF every year. We map out a plan of the store and are going to use walkie talkies to communicate in the store. We know which doors to watch and as of yet, we have gotten everything on our list every year. We plan our shopping very carefully, Wal-Mart by 3:00 am, out of there by 6:15-6:30, then to Radio Shack, Hastings, and then to Denny's! lol I have an aunt who goes also but we send her to other stores and she gets what we want at them so we get what she wants at Wal-Mart. Every year Big Lots has a freebie for the first 50-100 people, she goes there and gets them for us too so we get so many goodies! I do ALL of my shopping that one day, no stress, no mess, just good fun! By 11:00 I am home wrapping all of it, then finished, all done! It is not only fun but then I am free to enjoy the rest of the season without worry.:holiday08

Here's my joke!:banana01: :banana01: :banana01: :banana01: :banana01:

The husband had just finished reading the book, 'MAN OF THE HOUSE'. He stormed into the kitchen and walked directly up to his wife. Pointing a finger in her face, he said, "From now on, I want you to know that I am the man of this house, and my word is law! I want you to prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, and when I'm finished eating my meal, I expect a sumptuous dessert afterward. Then, after dinner, you are going to draw me my bath so I can relax. And when I'm finished with my bath, guess who's going to dress me and comb my hair?"
His wife replied, "The frickin' funeral director would be my guess."

Marriage Advice from Children:
In a survey, a group of children were asked several questions regarding relationships and marriage. This is a sample of some of the answers we recieved.
Q - How can a stranger tell if two people are married?
"You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids."

I have to confess that my first year for bf shopping didn't start out well. I was irritated b/c I couldn't get close to the items I wanted. But at some point in that first 1/2 hour or so I just took a deep breath and gave myself an attitude adjustment. I got my son addicted to BF. When he turned 16 about 3 yrs ago and got his drivers license and job, first thing he was talking about is BF. We never had a real live Christmas tree, so I thought I would have him and his girlfriend pick one out before the sales eneded. He picked out his first Live tree, found out his girlfriend was Allergic to Pine, they strapped it to the top of his car, (not very good) and off they went on the freeway, and the christmas tree turned sideways, and the girlfriend sneezing! Both of them are gearing up to go again this year, but no live trees this time. I love BF and being one of the crazy ones out there. Im new to the site, and love this site also. Everyone is so open and friendly.

LOL

Twas the Night Before Black Friday, when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, except for my mouse.
Half the turkey was eaten, the pumpkin pie gone,
But I was still online looking for deals; HOT ONES!
The wish lists were spread all over my bed,
And visions of toys abound in my head.
When out from the driveway there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to the window to see what was the matter.
Away to the door I flew like a flash,
Standing there was my best friend with her sale paper stash.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a sale paper from Walmart with a Disney Scene-It deal!
I knew in a moment it would be a great day,
It was then that my friend was heard to exclaim:
"Now Target, now Walmart, we'll kick up a fuss!
On Sears, on Kmart and Toys-R-Us!"
To the front of the line, with our rebates in hand,
We'll dash away, dash away, great savings we demand.
We're almost there, first on the way,
Happy Black Friday to all
And to all a great day!

I like to shop, but since I work overnights I rarely get to go shopping. All I have nearby is a Wal-Mart 20 miles away and Target, BB, CC and the others about 45 minutes away. Its too far out of the way to shop. So Black Friday is the time I like shopping best because I can find great deals and I can have some fun.

I use Black Friday to run off all the calories I scarfed up the day before.;)

What's really good here is that we have a 24hr. Wal-Mart and that's my mom and I's first stop. We can get in there....well, whenever. We generally arrive at 4 or so. They have special lines set up there and you can hop right in line then. The worst line I've ever had to stand in yet was for the Nintendo Gamecube. (2years ago(?)) They had the line set up right next to the meat section. Very Very cold there.:gd_shake: (I froze it off)

Wal-Mart ALWAYS has something I want. can't wait for this year. I've never seen a "Black Friday" shirt on my excursions. I would LOVE to have one. Thanks, Tina

Well lets see, a little about me my name is Jen and every BF me, my mom and 4 sisters go shopping at the crack of dawn. Our most harrowing experience was 2 years ago when our poor 5' mother almost got trampled to death at walmart. We now have to form a circle barrier around mom so that she doesn't get harmed ;) Not only is this a great time for the whole family to get together, we shop and then all go out to breakfast. I would love to have a t-shirt to show support of GottaDeal, i've shopped Black Friday ever since I was a kid. You'd have to make it the biggest size possible though  I think this is the 2nd year i've used this site. I heard about it on a scrapbook site I frequent daily. As far as what i'm looking for this year I haven't actually thought about it much yet...maybe a DVD/VCR combo for the bedroom. We bought a cheap DVD earlier this year and it already bit the dust and the VCR is slowly dying.

And lastly anything interesting about myself...hmmm nope i'm boring. Just a SAHM who scrapbooks and takes pictures.

Funny shopping story x 2...

Did you ever do the same terribly embarressing thing twice? :teacher:

I was with my older son in the mall and I saw something in a store window. I proceeded over to the extremely clean window to look at the item and when I leaned down I banged my forehead/face right on the glass. :bonk: Apparently it was so clean I didn't even see it and almost put my head right through it. The worst part was the look around to see who saw what I did. My son laughed so I hard I thought we were going to have to leave.

The other time was a doozie. I was with a friend in a department store and we were leaving. She walked out before me and I had stopped to look at something by the door. When I was done, I turned around, saw her outside the store and started walking right towards her. Instead, I walked smack dab RIGHT into a pane of glass. It was like on the cartoons - I literally slid down it and I saw stars. :gd_stars:

I think I need glasses.

It was Thanksgiving day 2003. The turkey and dressing (my fav) had been eaten. There was no more coconut cake left (my family's fav). Everyone was sitting around talking and holding their overfilled bellies. Then my aunt Nancy brought them in (the sale ads from the Thanksgiving day paper). She was ready to plan out her next days game plan. And there my love for Black Friday shopping was born. As well as for some of the other women in my family. And of course I went with them because my husband is a retail store manager so he works that day.

I know it's only been two years now, but I look forward to Black Friday all year long. It's not only the great deals but the fun we have. We just make a fun day out of it. Running from store to store, laughing at how silly we look while literally running through the stores, going out to eat after we've hit all the "till noon" deals. But last year Nancy was having a hard time. You see, she's been battling breast cancer since I was pregnant with my daughter in 2002. She's only taking her trements every three weeks now so hopefully she'll be feeling better this year (last year they were every week). So, I would like to win a t-shirt for her to wear this year. Maybe lifting her spirits will help her energy level!! After all, she's the one who turned me on to Black Friday in the first place.

P.S. Everyone keep their fingers crossed that I will fell okay to go this year (pregnant with our second child)!! :crossfing

True BF people will be jeleous of my shirt! Of course my mom might try to fight me for it...as all BF women do at 5:03 am when the doors open. (Come on haven't we ALL be there, and at least seen it?) I would wear it proudly!

Happy holidays everyone!

I'm a newbie here. I have had all my Christmas shopping done since April, but I still can't wait for BF. I have been so excited about going BF shopping this year for over a month. I get up at 3:30 am every BF and my hubby and I shop till we drop. I know it sounds pathetic, but what else could a cheapskate who happens to be a shopaholic ask for.

I started going to this site last year, and loved it! One of the reasons that it is such a good resource for me is that usually, while I am from a large subruban area outside of DC, I typically spend Thanksgiving weekend in a small southern town. It's got a few stores, but not EVERY store; and then certainly, we don't get all the sales ads there. With the website, I can make my list, and if there are especially great deals at a store that's not in my town, I can for instance plan on going to the Target or Best Buy half an hour away.

Also, I've always been a huge bargain hunter; and this website helps me to be the best bargain hunter I can be, while getting me all excited for the Holiday shopping season!

Oh and, if given a Tshirt, I will wear it several times before BF, and ON BF, this I promise!!!!

:groovin: Hello everyone!! I am a hard core BF shopper!! I begin on Wednesday by previewing and mapping out the stores for BF. I usually buy things at Target on Wednesday and do a massive price adjustment on Friday!! I usually hit CompUsa's moonlit madness sale on Wednesday evening. I get up early on Thanksgiving to make a mad dash for Kmart and Walgreens for those Thanksgiving day bargains! Shortly after dinner, I really plan my attack for BF. Last year I got to Best Buy at 2AM. I stand in line and talk with other savvy shoppers like myself. While I am waiting for them to begin giving out tickets, I look over all my sales ads and make sure that I don't miss anything. I usually buy an emachines PC at Best Buy every BF. This year I hope to get a great price PC with an LCD monitor for less than $300.00!! I would really like to wear a bargain share T-shirt during that week. Happy Holidays!!!

So I have been coming to this site for a long time, yet I have never made a post...I am a lurker by all definitions.

I love this site, and it feeds my need for bargain hunting!

My friends and family think I am crazy about how organized I am and how excited I get about black friday.....

I am a list maker. I have a list for everything....and they are everywhere. I like to think I do it so I am organized, I have a game plan...this is my "play" in the 4th quarter. I need to know what I am going for, where I am going, the order of stores, aisles I need to head to first.....I KNOW I am not alone.

So I went to the doctor about a month ago. She said something about the holidays coming up...I got all excited and 15 minutes later I was finishing up my story about how a month before the sales I am searching for leaked sale items, making lists, matching prices, blah blah blah......

She immediately says she would like to try me on Zoloft because she thinks I may have a mild case of OCD lol. I'm 32, the most carefree least stressed person I know. I rarely have a headache, let alone feel anxious about routines and order. I just LOVE black Friday! Doc's sure seem eager to give prescriptions out these days....I know some die hard red sox fans....maybe they need some medication lol

Anyways, just thought I would share (and to possibly get a free t-shirt) about how my black friday obsession has my doctor thinking I need a chill pill.

 :tweety: :gd_not_ri Hi Everyone,
Just thought I'd introduce myself before another hurricane could come around and see me. I go by Mystic, but my real name is Robbie. I live in central Florida between Orlando and Tampa, it's called Bartow and it's in Polk County. Now, the only thing we have here, is the County Courthouse, and of course, the County Jail. No Joke, our streets don't even roll out much less in. ha ha We do have the full express WalMart, but it's for all the jail visitors to get them supplies and the county emplyoee's stop by on way to or from work, depending on what shift they might be on.
Now HURRICANES, we had the eye of all 4 of them hit exactly 8 miles from my house. We sat on the front porch for the first one, but we were facing West too, just like the hurricane was going. The other 3 we were in and out of house, and had some good winds and rain. My yard has been named Lake Fiasco, cause it make a straight path from the road up front thru my side yard to go to a drainoff lake behind. Now, the thing about the lake behind me is that the drain off is suppose to come from the oppoisite direction. haha It is uphill to the lake from my house, but that water sure was running that way. For real. So, if you see a part of me flying by caught up in this Wilma gal hurricane, just throw me a broom, I should be able to find my way home with it from anywhere. roflmfao

My first contribution (copied from an email I got recently that had me ROFL)

Holiday Shopping Fun
Do all you other shopping first, then before you leave (with many bags in hand), visit the glassware stores, swinging your bags haphazardly around. Don’t hit anything, but just enjoy the faces of the employees around you.

For the men: After you haven’t shaved for a couple of days, spend about half-an-hour browsing in the local cutlery store, staring intently (this works better if you own a postal uniform).

Drive around the parking lot at night with your lights off. Then when you come to some shoppers leaving after a long and tiresome night of shopping, quickly turn your lights on and watch the merryment.

Have you stubbed your toe recently? Gotten a paper cut? Then you’re disabled! Grap a wheelchair and get shopping! The mall is never too congested.

Have you forgotten your ATM PIN? Then now’s a perfect time to get money from the ATMs in the mall. Just because you have to try every number combination you can think of, it doesn’t give the people behind you the right to get impatient.

Simple advice: You’re never too old to sit on Santa’s lap (and if they say you are then just have a hissy-fit like everyone else).

If it looks like a type of clothing is about to be sold out... buy the last of it! It doesn’t matter if it won’t fit anyone on your gift list, they can always return it later.

Just because you’ve spent two hours with a salesperson going over every detail about a product doesn’t mean you have to buy it. The salespeople are more than happy to serve.

“You break it, you buy it” doesn’t apply if they didn’t see you (and it especially doesn’t apply in electronics stores).

Have visiting guests that you have to entertain? Well what’s better than dropping them off at the mall during peak hours. They’ll thank you for showing them first-hand the festive color of your local community.

When eating at the mall’s food court, your bags should never have to touch the ground. Always place them in the seats of the table you’re sitting at—even if they use up 10 chairs.

Many gift wrapping areas in the mall are run by local high schools. These provide chances for the students to learn about job situations while providing you with your packages nicely wrapped. Help add to their learning experience by only having them wrap your odd-shaped gifts. Items such as gift baskets or stuffed animals are best.

The people who put up those “No Smoking” signs are insane. Light’em up.

Many people find that shopping with children is a troublesome experience. However, the easy thing to do is to leave them at the toy store, they’ll find lots of things to do. And if this doesn’t work, the lost children’s booth with watch them till you’re done with your shopping.

Ask the salesperson for an item that they do not carry in their store (yet is sold in the store across the way). After the salesperson’s explained to you for the fourth time that they don’t carry that item, leave, and send in your friends, on by one, to perform the same ritual you just did. Repeat as often as is joyful.

When you just can’t decide on purchasing an item, ask your shoulder. Then disagree with his/her opinion.

Hint: Your shopping doesn’t have to end just because the mall closes.

Another Hint: If you have kleptomaniacs in the family, let them do all your shopping, they always find the best discounts.

Why I love love black friday...

I stumbled upon this site 3 years ago. That is how I first encountered Black Friday, I didnt even know what it was.

I despise large crowds, etc. But I LOVE a great deal!

So my hubby and I decided to see what all the sales are about.

We get up super early on BF. Head on over to Wal-Mart super center thinking we'll be sneaky being that it's a 24 hour store, and get what we wanted early. WRONG! Wal-Mart had the pallet stuff going on and the side of the store where all the sale merchandise was literally roped off.

After the "magic hour" I swear it was pandemonium! I thought it was so funny what people would do! These ladies were literally fighting over a 4.00 coffee maker! Hubby said they were almost coming to blows! ROFL! Bottles of sparkling cider being smashed on teh floor as frenzied shoppers find their way to the barbie cars and dvd players. It was quite enteraining...lol!

Needless to say I'm hooked!

Still sleeping under my 60 dollar sears down blanket, and watching my tv :)

If this isn't worth a t-shirt, I don't know what is...

At the tender age of 14, my good friend and I decided we wanted to enjoy the joys of the mall on Black Friday. Since we didn't drive and lived a good hour from the closest mall, this took a bit of persuasion but we got everything lined up...

The big day arrived and we set off in our matching outfits (green sweaters, jeans tucked into short boots and long mall hair--can you guess the year?) with my friend's mother and sister (a college freshman).

Most of the day was a blur...shopping at a record store (yes, a RECORD store), picking out more matching clothes, getting our picture made with Santa (he didn't seem to mind)...as the day grew longer, the mall seemed to get warmer and warmer--then frigid--then really hot--then it seemed to sway just a little bit.

Oh, well...I wasn't going to let a little under the weather feeling destroy my day, so I forged on. Finally, shoulder to shoulder with several thousand other people, I decided I should at least sit down for a minute. I was nearest to my friend's sister, so I tried to get her attention, but she was wrapped up in a story about a rude salesperson...besides, I couldn't really speak or move my arms...

Just about the time she realized I was not responding and turned to look at me, I stopped and threw up about 3 gallons of vomit. Remember, we are quite literally shoulder to shoulder in the middle of the mall. My friend's lovely mother quickly thought to pull me to a planter, where I continued to lose twice my body weight--but, at least it was no longer splashing on the other shoppers.

Have you heard the expression "traffic stopping"? That is an appropriate way to describe what happened all around us...I don't think I would have gotten that much attention if I had taken off all my clothes and danced naked in the mall!

After several minutes of this, and a cool towel to the face, I felt considerably better and told the group I was ready to carry on. Unfortunately, my friend's mother didn't quite understand how you can be too sick to stand, but not too sick to shop...so, we came home.

I felt horrible that I had ruined the shopping trip for everyone. Lucky for me, my great friend assured me that it was the most exciting shopping trip ever. Many years later and we still get a good laugh over the story...and, we have the picture of us with Santa to remind us of that day--is that rosy color a Christmas glow or the first signs of fever? You decide.

BTW--if you got splashed at Northeast Mall on BF 1984, I'm sorry.

Okay I am one of these people that shop for Christmas all year long. I am pretty much done with my christmas shopping before Bf.I go shopping on BF for the sport of it. I have seen knock out fights almost every year. I have seen blood drawn on most of them. Some of these fights are better then ring side seat in a boxing match.(Not that I have ever been to a real fight.) Any how It isn't pretty and I am always amazed at just how far some people will go for an item. I go just to watch the people.I usually end up on my local news every year.*laughs* Trust me I don't want too. I hate having my picture taken. *laughs* Plus all that a side I love the spirit of Christmas. Just something about the Magic of Christmas will get me every time.... The Magic of Christmas can Change lives I have seen it...However.... I still believe in Santa Claus!!!

I love going out on BF. Not too crazy about getting up really early but it's great being able to zip down the roads and highways without any traffic. I usually go alone but quickly make friends with the other night owls waiting for a great deal. We then start to have a little party (somebody makes a coffee and hot chocolate run while we save his/her spot in line) until the doors open for the rush towards the door. These people actually help you find the things the stores so cleverly move to make it harder to find. I can't tell you how many times somebody from the line saw me wondering around and said...such and such thing is over there. I also do the same for these friends that none of us would ever see again at least until the next BF.
Anyway, Free t shirts are how I get new clothes LOL

Hi All,
Here's my bittersweet Black Friday story...It was 2001, and my mother and I had a good plan of attack. At 4:00am we would bypass the nearest Walmart in favor of the one in the huge shopping center further away. This would be great because this shopping center also had a Best Buy, Target, and Toys R Us. Our plan was to hit Walmart first for the $30 DVD player, then Target, then Best Buy. When we arrived at the Walmart, it was complete chaos, and the store wasn't even open yet. They let everyone in the supercenter, but all the doorbusters were wrapped up in those @<hidden>!#$ pallets. After about 30 mins. of being jerked around, we gave up and left for Target. There it was even worse! Folks were standing outside in the freezing cold in a line wrapped around the building.:g_help: At this point we left the huge shopping center and headed back to our neighborhood Walmart. Of course, by now we figured the doorbusters were gone.:( We decided to try anyway and believe it or not, our neighborhood Walmart had them!!:gd_orange Our Black Friday was saved!!! Throughout the remainder of the day, we grabbed a lot of great deals and our car trunk was overflowing. Unfortunately, our joy didn't last...we were burglarized exactly one week later.:cry2: The theives took all of our deals except my daughters toys. I guess they didn't have the heart to steal her Christmas. So that's my "Bittersweet Black Friday Story". Immediately after the robbery, we had a security system installed with 24-hr monitoring. 20/20 hindsight.....

Okay, here goes...A blind man walks into a WalMart and starts swinging his seeing-eye dog around and around above his head. The clerk comes and asks what he is doing. The man casually responds, "Just looking around."

Why I love Black Friday

It is a bunch of freaks with no circus! Why else would people be going to blows over a $4.88 dvd? When else can you be threatened with a knife over a Power Wheels that does not even belong to the other person? Is there any other time that you can see normally upstanding citizens going fist to cuff over a doll or game?
As I had mentioned in another post, my husband (along with 3 other people) were the ones who were threatened with a knife over the Jeep PW. I have also seen people fight over a little bit of everything. And the funny part is it is usually not the computers and tvs and such, it is usually the smaller toys and small appliances that seem to cause all of the ruckus.
But it is a sport, the thrill of the hunt for me. I love a bargain!!

I love Black Friday sales. With three kids that want everything they see, it's great to find a deal on most everything!!!

I guess I still have a little time to enter. I just recently joined here and love it! I'd really like to win one of these t-shirts. It seems like I'm always signing up somewhere online to get a free t-shirt, but haven't received one ever!!
