Since Ross started it with this thread (http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=13172), I thought I'd simply follow suit. (He's not the only one who can't wait for BF, you know!)

What's on your Wish List?!

Don't really have a wish list right now... I just heard news of a Treo 700 today on engadget.com and my cell phone plan is up in december so I may make the switch from my blackberry to the Treo.

You both are too impatient, lol. These threads will be moved to the BF forum when the site launches.

BTW, sort of off-topic, but what does everyone (who cares) think we should do with the existing posts in the BF forum? Should they all remain open so people can bump them this year or should they all be locked so we start off with new threads this year. Any thoughts?

Should they all remain open so people can bump them this year or should they all be locked so we start off with new threads this year. Any thoughts? I'd say lock them - no sense talking about last year's deals when more can be found this year. Besides, they can always create new threads instead...

have a 2005 black friday forum, keep the 2004 forum for referance, then in 2006 dump the 2004 forum.

Keebelf
9-22-2005, 4:43 PM
LOCKED!

It is way too confusing to have the posts open and epopel posting to them but half of the posts are last years topics.

Leave them up so newbies can see them but lock them up tight.

Brad
9-22-2005, 4:56 PM
I agree that they should be locked. I don't know if we should move them to another subforum or just keep them in where they are. If we keep them as one forum, once the forum's been open for a few days, all the posts from last year will no longer be on the first page anyway. There are still a lot of useful threads from last year not dealing with specific items (such as tips, etc...) so we don't want to make them too hard to find.

DigDoug

I agree. The regulars haven't seen the posts in a long time. Lock em up. :)

Not sure what I want yet. I need to see the lists first.

freesia39
9-22-2005, 4:58 PM
so to get back on topic:

1. LCD. if i can get a great price, i'll replace the one i have now. fry's has the one i want for 199 after rebate, but my dad got the exact same one without the rebate hassles. i'm waiting.
2. any good clothing deals. that's all i need for now. maybe an ipod but those won't be on discount.

9-22-2005, 5:12 PM
My list...a cd player for the van, the Pixter Color (although if circuit city gets any back in stock, I'll buy that before BF as they are only $40 there and $80 everywhere else right now)...and pretty much everything else I want to get will be decided by the ads.

As for the 2004 forum, I say lock the posts and keep it as a subforum of the BF 2005 forum...then after BF 2005 is over, delete the 2004 one and keep the 2005 one as a subforum of something (however you have the 2004 one set up now), or keep both 2004 and 2005 locked as subforums like you do with the 2004 now...ugh am I even making sense? I think I've lost myself now. ;)

Mostly just a nice 19" or larger lcd to replace the crt monitor here at the business, and maybe some good computer parts that are on special.

As for the XBox 360, thats my birthday present to myself.

19" LCD w/12ms response or better.

Possibly in Oct or possibly BF - portable laptop for my wife.

Dream:
MP3 Player that's at least 60GB, displays photos, works as portable HDD, built-in FM tuner and transmitter, removeable battery, as thin as the regular iPod, and with an easy to use interface. <$300 should be fair, right?

I'll take one :) Although take out the FM tuner and transmitter and replace it with a built-in XM receiver.

That works for me, too. I keep forgetting that the new car has an aux jack, so I don't need the FM transmitter.

OK, last year's posts are now in their own subforum of the main BF forum. Once BF 2005 is over, both the 2005 and 2004 forums will become subforums of the Offline Deals board as they are now. We'll decide next year whether we want to keep 2 years of archives, but for now there's no reason to delete them as there are less than 500 threads in the forum.

What I want:

-Huge hard drive (400GB+ ideally, HDTV capture can make any hard drive appear small ;))
-Maybe a good inexpensive (~$500?) HDTV for my mom's house
-DVD's, boxed sets (Simpsons, 24 season 4 if it's out yet, maybe others)
-Axim X51v ;)
-Maybe a laptop but probably not since I won't have that much money (unless everybody throws tons of money at me when I turn 21 the week before Black Friday :P)

That's all I can think of now...I'm sure there will be more though ;)

Humm a new washer and dryer is needed here so many another big discount at sears that day. Some stocking stuffers. Another cheapo handmixer since mine from 2 BF's ago just burnt out (for $4 thats not to bad lol) A steam cleaner for the floor maybe. Love the DVD box sets they normally have. Just going to look at the list and go from there basically. How much people pay for XBOX 360's on ebay will tell. If I have a REALLY good time with selling them maybe a HDTV for the livingroom lol

OK, not a wishlist, but i feel compelled to post. For those who want sat. radio, does it need to be XM? or is sirius ok? Target has sirius recievers on clearance right now, I almost got one, but i dont want a monthly fee. For those looking for TVs, SEARS! Thats where I got my girls 19" for 58.00 last BF. And for the person posting about a pixter color, have you thought about a leapster? they are soo much better. If price is the deciding factor, get a pixter for 40.00. If not, splurge the extra 20 or so on the leapster. We have had one since the year it came out (3 years ago? I think) and my kids still love it.

Whatever I get, it will have to be cheap. Looking for about a 13" screen at the largest or it'll be too big. No Best Buy or Circuit City close by either. :( I just had to replace the living room TV.. couldn't wait for BF this time. Got a 27" flatscreen at Walmart for $198. I think I want to add music equipment to my list too, but I doubt anything I want will be available on BF.

I also want a new(er) computer, but will wait until tax time for that.

Don't really have a wish list right now... I just heard news of a Treo 700 today on engadget.com and my cell phone plan is up in december so I may make the switch from my blackberry to the Treo.

I think the 700 doesn't come out until sometime next year (at least with Verizon). My bf upgraded his 600 to the 650 sometime this past year, and then heard word of the 700. He said by the time it comes out it'll be time to upgrade anyway.

Anyway, right now all I really want to see are some great deals on video games. The two kids I babysit for have a GameCube and both have GBA SPs. Buying toys for them is pretty hard to do. The 9-y/o girl likes Bratz, but doesn't really play with them so there's not much of a point in buying the dolls. The little boy is going to be 7 come Christmas, and will play with a toy for about a day to a week, then forget all about it.

Hoping for a nice deal on a front-loading washing machine.

iPod accessories would be nice, too.

Well DH already purchased his present (a new Home Theatre system) so I guess a good laptop, a Palm Zire 31, a new computer. For DD, some clothes, a new Dora bedding set, some toys. Does anyone know which is better for a 3 1.2 yr old who is turning 4 in January-Leapster or Pixur or the other one I can't remember?:o
