I'll probably spend < $150 (and hopefully get most of that back in rebates).

That's weak! ;) I don't know what I am spending. It ALL depends on what I see in the ads that strikes my fancy. If there is nothing, then it makes it that much easier.

Unless it is a complete and total bust, I'm planning on spending several hundred.

That works for me. Although realistically, $500 or less almost certainly ;)

I'm too lazy to stay up late or get up early to fight my way to a B&M deal, so unless the deals are here at GD I'll be spending $0.

If I decide to get the HD TV this year instead of next I'll definitely be keeping an eye out.

About $15 grand.

Mike

My goal is to get 10 xbox 360s so that will take a huge chunk of my budget. Maybe a few hundred on BF itself. Anything left will go towards more 360s.

Same here, I don't set a dollar amount.

There's nothing I really want to upgrade. I'm not into watching tv, so a regular old fashioned one is ok for now until this one goes kafoozey. I'm not into the xbox so that's out. :(

Spend until the CC gets denied.

:)

Actually ... that wouldn't be very smart for me. I could puchase a pretty nice car on my credit line. Two if you count my wife's too.

:)

I make a list of all the people I need to buy for, and then if something I think they will like is in one of the ads at the price point I give them, I buy it. For instance, I want to get my niece (2 years old) either a 12 inch bike, or a kitchen and my budget is $40.

Agreed - all depends on the deals...

outnumbered
9-13-2005, 11:23 AM
I won't know till I see how much money I have saved up by then and what deals are out there.

My Christmas budget tends to be about $75 per child, and I try to get as many of their gifts as possible on BF so they can get more things. And then whatever else I buy for other relatives--if I can find good deals on things on BF for them, I'll do it.

If I have the money or some available credit that I don't mind using, and there's an awesome deal on some electronic thing that I want, I'd consider getting it...but I don't know. Right now I'm just focusing on getting the kids' presents.

stingygrrl
9-13-2005, 11:37 AM
I probably should have used a better word than budget.. I was thinking about the max I would actually spend.

I just don't see a lot out there that's compelling to buy, other than the freebie things like CDs that I could use, and other FAR things that I wouldn't buy unless they're free. :D

Just depends on the sales! I hear you on building a house; we're not building yet but are buying the land and once that's paid off, we'll start saving up to build (so money's going to be just as tight, it's surprising how expensive land is!).

I try to budget out how much I will spend on each person, but as far as a Black Friday budget, I am not very good at sticking to those! I often find things that I didn't even see in the ads, and it messes my budget up. THe amount of money I spend also depends on when I get tired.

My Hubby and Brother would die for the new xbox. We shall see, I am sure they will all be gone around here... My sister does a budget of $150 per child. I don't do budgets. My son is almost 11 and his items cost more. For example his one item he will be getting this is is: $178. So he knows now, quantity is not always better. I'd blow a budget so I don't even try to put myself on one

Well, let's see...

I buy my kids presents from their grandmother, aunt and us. Plus I usually get stuff for the grandkids too and maybe a family member or two. Probably around 3000.00 between all the stuff for everyone. (My mom and sister each give me 600.00 for the three kids and 400.00 for the four grandkids). I get to spend a lot of money and have all the fun plus the kids and grandkids get things that they definately want. Works well.

we missed the snow

We've been living here for 3 years now and love it despite the snow! LOL Somehow we lucked out the other day with the snow. 25 minutes from my house, got dumped on and ended up with about 10 inches. I do have to say, I'm not looking forward to the lake effect snow that will soon get here!;)

Right now we are very blessed Cayuga lake is only about 400 yards from our house so while they get snow 5miles up the road were we us to live we may now just get rain or we don't get as much. I have to call my parents or a friend up the road if I am heading that way to see how the weather is if they have called for a lot of snow as we live int eh country and with the fields it is white out a lot on certain roads if windy

I remember getting a lot more snow growing up in Cortland .

No budget here either.

Anything under our combined $50,000 credit card limits is game.

Whew! I think your Adoption papers for ME will go through by then :yay: So just sign and return then add me to your Christmas list! Thank You ~ Theresa :rotflol:

My budget for that day was 500$. But now my lovely fuel pump in my Yukon is taking a dump, and since I cannot walk to the stores on Black Friday, I guess I had better get it fixed. So my budget is being drastically reduced as I bargain shop to get my fuel pump replaced.

No budget. I'll buy what I can justify spending the money on.

Same here. If I need it, and its a good price, I will buy it.

Depends on who you ask me or DH. If you ask me I don't have one :D. If you ask him he would say between $500 & $1000. ;)

What is this "budget" that people keep talking about? I plan to shop until the bill collectors actually show up at whichever store I'm at to break my kneecaps!

We have a shopping list of items that we need/want -- and if we can get a good deal on them, we will get them all -- if not, we will wait until after the holidays or when we find a good sale.

We usually set a $1,000 christmas budget and before BF I've ran into a few deals and spent about $250 of that. I'd love to be done by the end of the day but it never fails that I have a few more things to buy.

I make a list of all the people I need to buy for, and then if something I think they will like is in one of the ads at the price point I give them, I buy it. For instance, I want to get my niece (2 years old) either a 12 inch bike, or a kitchen and my budget is $40.
I shop the same way. I go through each kids list, then I look for other people I would like to give a gift to and then I look for those surprise gifts that no one asked for but I know they will love it. For example I got one son a leather coat from Kohls 60% off and I had a 15% coupon, he did not ask for it but it will be very appreciated. I am hoping for the kichen and bike too. If I found the kitchen I want for forty dollars I would be thrilled!! The bike should be no problem K-mart's Thanksgiving Ad is listing 2 kinds for 19.99. Happy Shopping!! Budget -- whatever I can get by with !

I don't really have one it just all depends on what I decide to get since 75% of my shopping is already done. I hope I don't spend too much and I'm hoping to make a little in some Avon sales.

No budget here! I could spend a couple of hundred or up to $1500 depending on the deals.

We don't have credit..so we have been saving all month long for BF. If its not paying a bill, its going into the BF stash. I suspect we'll have between 4 and 5 hundred dollars stashed back. Whether we spend it all or not depends on if we can get the things we're going for.

I currently have close to $800 by doing things online (bingo and online offers and such) so Id like to get all my shopping done with that and not have to touch the checking account!

The buying up xbox 360s might be a good idea to resale on ebay... depending on how much they will go for and what kind of supply they are in, I hear of many many people wanting to do this as a small business venture.
