I checked it out pretty good and only found a couple of bad reviews and quite a few good reviews. One guy said it was durable, he accidentally left it in his pocket and washed it in the washing machine and after charging it it still worked. I hope it's good. My boys don't need something expensive, I'm afraid they'd lose it as small as they are.

I heard alot of good things about it--and I'd be snatching it up right now for my kids, but I read in a review that it is NOT compatible with Windows Media Player 11 and that is what I have. Maybe if you wanted to be safe you could quickly call and verify that with someone at Best Buy Geek Squad or something??

See I wondered that too--I read this looong review (sorry I don't remember where but I was googling everything I could find info on the Zen a few weeks ago)
Anyway this guy went on and on about how he had Windows Vista and that it has W.Media Player 11 and how much trouble he had and he went back and forth over and over with the Zen people--I think he ended up getting a refund. But he said that his music downloaded to WMP 11 and that he couldn't get the music onto the Zen.
I am not a tech/MP3 savvy person, so I don't know if this is true, just wanted to put it out there.

There are so many media players out there I am sure you can find one that works with it. I have Media Player 11, Quicktime, Rhapsody, and Rockbox. If I have an issue with one I just go to another. :fluffy:

I got mine! Thanks to the OP. One good thing is it is expandable. It takes SD cards for more storage. I just bought a 2GB Kingston SD card from Newegg.com for $3.98. Now I can put it in this player and have a total of 4GB.:)

I have an older creative zen model without the fancy screen. Which I bought refurbed from buy.com (from a posting on Gottadeal) It has worked perfectly for the gym, survives being in the bottom of my bag without complaint. The charge lasts for ages. Very robust.

I have sync'd with itunes without problems.. and the older Zens are Rockbox compatible (I think that the newest is not or not yet)

This is a great price. Great for watching movies in a pinch in the car or airplane.... as well as listening to music I might pick one up for me.....

I just got off the phone again. They said it was probably because I didn't put my middle initial in my cc info. I haven't changed my info from the last time I ordered. I seem to recall something similar before when I ordered Legos for BF one year. I got a cancellation, but that was years ago. I think maybe they are trying to get out of it. I called the 869 number, I couldn't place an order either. They said to sign up for the email alert or call the nearest store to see if they will honor tru online prices. Guess I will just keep trying.

I have a Creative Zen Vision: M and my sister has the Zen. I really think that you guys will be happy with these players. I use Napster to Go for my music and for videos I use Amazon Unbox. The Zen Vision has this feature where you can use the recorder to record your favorite songs from the radio. I would guess that this feature is also available on the Zen as well.

I bought one this spring refurbished on ebay for 29.00 . I love it. I have media player 11 and it works great. I have 300 photos and over 150 songs an d I still have almost a gig left. Mine is a zen v.

That is what happened to me. Except it was on my bank AND Paypal account. I've got $80 tied up and nothing to show for it.

They've been in and out of stock all day. Between 11 AM and 4 PM my time and I had ordered from them twice... often refreshing every few hours. I got lucky coz the weather is yucky here so my only choice is to stay in. I signed up for "notification" using my yahoo account and I get IMs throughout the day when they're back on stock. I only ordered one at first and a couple more the last time. Keep trying!

yes but what bites is until it if final some one can buy out from under you, I had got to confirm order only to have it go oos. When I called I was told that is how the system works until you have hit the final button you could lose

When did you sign up for the rewards/free shipping code? If it was today, check the date that the offer begins for you. Usually it is the day AFTER you sign up.

I did that. Both of mine still say processing. I just think that is insane that it is still processing after 11 hours now.

Busybee mine still say processing and I ordered at 8:52 am. I called customer service and they said they were having issues with the website this morning. They are looking into it and promised to have a supervisor call me before 9 pm EST. I'll post when I get an update.

I feel badly that you got canceled and hope that it doesn't happen to all of us. I only requested 2 and need them, but maybe someone else who ordered many, if it goes through would end up having an extra.
If it was a big mistake--1-it should have been fixed hours ago, you know, not say in stock, out of stock, over and over and

After 12 hours, I finally called to see what the issue is with the "Pending".

The CS rep I spoke to, said that the order is pending because of the warehouse. Once the warehouse "locates" the item, it should change to confirmed. I told him that I ordered first thing this morning and that I was going to be royally ticked if they canceled it, but he seems to think that isn't going to happen since they haven't canceled it yet.

Fingers crossed! If this goes through and I have any left over that won't be used, I'll definitely post for anyone who missed out (although right now, I'm thinking all but maybe 1 are "spoken for" (for lack of a better word). I got the one extra just in case we had another "oops" we need a gift for under $20 type situation with my son...LOL

But Amazon drives me the craziest with their prices changing all of the time. It makes me so mad that I end up buying a lot less from them as I just have to walk away from the computer! Yeah, their price changing can get annoying, but I just meant the warehouse end once you've survived the price changes and ordered. They have some of the best in their warehouses for "getting the order processed and shipped."

I hate they ditched the price guarantee thing this year, but definitely a better experience ordering from amazon than TRU. Wish we could have picked up "in store" for these.

Do you think any on-line stores will price match with TRU price, such as WM or BB?

I don't think the online stores do price matching, and I think the B&M stores only price match the other B&M...but I'm not 100% on that.

Dagnabit...I have the backorder email too. WTH is up with that. I have my husbands Cabella coat listed as "backordered" I am bitter about that. He has been talking about getting one and wants to go find a deal on BF and I don't want to tell him, but I don't want him to miss out on a deal either. :mad: I didn't even get an email from them! I had a similar issue a few years ago. I ordered LEGOs that said 'In-Stock' and by the time I checked out, they were gone. Happened several times that day if I remember. I couldnt buy them and never got the chance to get...CANCELLED!

It must be a warehouse issue, because the OP was the only post when I saw the post and went and ordered mine. After I ordered and got back here, there were about 4 or 5 posts already. About 30 minutes, later, I placed a second order.

I'm wondering if it is just a warehouse issue...different warehouses around the country and some may have had more "buys" than others and they didn't have enough in stock. I wish CS could give us better info.
