this is a a bait and switch ad, I tried to buy it in the store and they refused to sell it to me at this price. The sales manager was Micah Mayfield in St. Louis at (314) 963-0125

This is a bait and switch on line from a company in bankruptcy. I tried to buy it in our local Circuit City store and they refused to sell it at that price.

Online says XBOX bundle is out of stock.

Called 1-800 number. Rep said their server is down for 1-2 days and that I needed to call back.

I went to the store in Woodbury, Minnesota. Manager told me that this is a misprint and that their ad states the correct price. Offered me the TV for $1250.

I was wondering what was wrong with the website. There was no CC ad in my newspaper so I wanted to look it up online. Oh well, I guess CC doesn't want my money. No wonder they're bankrupt, terrible CS.

Why not buy it online and just pick it up in store??

boblin119
11-16-2008, 5:24 PM
back up but not available for pick up at my store.

sboller75
11-16-2008, 5:24 PM
That's the problem...you can't buy it online. Earlier, the CC website said the package was $999. However, when you went to check out, the XBOX 360 was out of stock, thus voiding the package, making the TV $1499.

Now, the website is under construction, though the CR told me this morning that their servers had crashed.

Wonder if Best Buy or Ultimate Electronics will price match?

sboller75

I thought the same about price matching. However, I was told by Ultimate Electronics that, according to the fine print, price matching is for in stock items only.

My local CC said they will honor the online price. My husband is on his way to get it!

It is still listed on line, but the game is not available anywhere, according to Circuit City, so the price of the TV by itself is $1499...instead of $999 for the package.

CC just started running the ads about that their online prices were available in store. So if you find this in your store, they should price match it. I would print it off CC online, before it disappears, though.

** I believe it is CC who has a TV add running which states it only has 1 price , online, in store etc. , so they should honor the price. If you go to the store print out the add and take it with you and mention the TV add to them.

The Sunday's paper has the ad with this "One price" info printed on the front page right by this offer. It shouldn't be a problem getting them to honor it.

Did anyone end up scoring this deal?

jennie_bebe
11-16-2008, 7:44 PM
Yep, we got it! In Denver...after trying ALL day-going back and forth btwn. home, CC, and BB-calling UE, calling BB, checking CC website, calling CC...ugh. I have to say it was worth it though. After being turned down at BB and CC three times we decided to try one more BB and they did it for $999 out the door 36mo 0% financing-no questions asked. This is better than any BF deal I've ever got-and I didn't have to camp out to do it either.:)

Our UE wouldn't do it because they do not carry the xbox.

sboller75

Correct, Jennie.

By in-stock items, I meant that UE doesn't carry the xbox.

My local CC said they will honor the online price. My husband is on his way to get it!

What kind of deal did your husband get? Was he able to get the xbox as well, or did they sell him just the TV?

Thanks.

I, like other people, tried online and found the XBox "out of stock."

I went to the local CC here and they have a sign made up and posted on the door saying that the online ad is a misprint and the package is $1500. I questioned them and at first they told me they had the XBox in stock. I went outside and called CC from my cell and they told me that $1000 is the correct price, but they show no stock. When I informed them that my local CC has everythin in stock they told me that they can't control the local stores and it is up to the managers to decide. I pressed further with the one price policy and the rep told me they will be updating the website. When I asked whether they would be updating the stock or the price she told me it would be stock because the price was correct. I asked for a manager to try to get the local store to honor the price and she said she would transfer me and then hung up -- when I called back they had a prerecorded message option that just says they are out of stock and hangs up on you. When I went back into the store, the sales rep told me they are now out of stock on the XBoxes.

It's fishy, but what can you do if they want to play these games?

gee, with times as tough as they are, and CC being in trouble, you think they wouldn't be screwing people.

Is there any wonder why CC is going out of business?

Web site now says $1499.99 for the bundle. Not a bad deal, but not the original.

I get really annoyed when stores don't honor their ad prices (didn't they proof read the ads???)...I also get annoyed when you see something in the store w/a price tag and then they refuse to honor that price stating it was a mistake. The correct thing to do is fix the mistake right away (changing the online price), but honoring those who do come in asking for the listed deal.

It was odd all day long with not having the ability to get onto the site than it did say $999 but out of stock. They knew about the mistake or whatever this morning, it should of never been on the site that long.

The 999.99 price is still showing if you search samsung 50 plasma. They show it with the holiday bundle for 999.99 and with the regular pro 360 for 1499.99.

Went to the CC in roseville, CA today and they refused to honor it. So did best buy.

CC said it was a mistake but a call to their over the phone sales team says its the correct price but out of stock.

Im going to try the 3 other local CC's , Best buys, and possibly RC Wiley Tommorow.

I had a printout of the online ad. I took it to my local CC and the manager said, "Um, that was just a one day deal good for yesterday." I told him I didn't see where it said anything about that in the ad. Then he told me, "Uh, that one sold out yesterday when we opened at 10 a.m." I feel sure he was lying to me, couldn't even look me in the face when he said it. I just told him, "Yea, right" and left the store.

BTW, all of that was after the original sales girl told me, yea we have that in stock let me just find out where it is located and called across the walkie talkie. Seems a little fishy to me.

I went to one CC in my area and was told that they were out of stock. I had them check stock at another area CC and was told that the other store had it in stock. I walked out of the first CC and called the second one from the parking lot only to be told that it was out of stock. When I told the guy that I just had an employee from the first CC check his stock and he did have it in stock he told me that the first guy was wrong.
