I'm going to send out the East Coast train on Monday regardless of having all the addresses (I already have the first 5 or 6 so that should be plenty of time to receive the others addresses). When I receive them, I'll re-send you all the address list via PM. Whoever has the train at that time can just print off the new list and switch out the old list from the train.

the first east coast train will be on its way to dcamp tomorrow (monday)! it only weighs 1.3oz right now, so a regular letter envelope is ok. if/when it gets heavier, we'll have to use the clasp envelopes.

since there are 13 riders now, I've thought about splitting the east trains into to sections- north & south. of course, i want to get everyone's opinions first.

the north train would have 9 riders, while the south would have 4. i don't mind a long train (of 13 altogether) but with smaller trains it'd be faster and we'd each get the train more often.

the trains seem to be pretty slow moving so far. just trying figure out how to make the trains most efficient :)

sorry, classes started up again so i've been busy with this first week. i'm still waiting for lists from some riders as to what brands they use.

I've only received lists from six people. If I don't get a list from anyone else, I'll assume myself and those 6 people will make up the pet train.
Not trying to be rude, but a coupon train requires lots of participation to make it successful and beneficial :yup: I'm trying to figure out what works best to make it a smooth and enjoyable train :)
Thanks for all of your help everyone, while I've gotten the train up and running. Still tweaking a few things, as you all know, to make it a great train.

I know how hard it is to make things work on a coupon train. In order for trains to work---PEOPLE HAVE TO DO WHAT IS REQUIRED. That means posting...sending trains...clipping coupons...sending coupons....and PM'ing the conductor back when asked. If you guys can't do what is required....don't be mad when you aren't on the train. We are all adults and should be all able to follow simple rules and instructions.

I like the idea of splitting the train up...cause I don't need any dog items...so think its a waste to even get those when someone else might not even want cat items and I do LOL If you have both....get on both lists.

I have PLENTY of coupons----so when you are ready I will start a new train.

something to consider that someone else brought up about the dog/cat split up: many people clip all pet coupons, so if they're only on the dog train - how can they add coupons to the other train?
my reaction was to either mail them directly to someone who could use them (but postage might get costly) or save up a pile of coupons and mail them to me, then i'll get them on the correct train (or save them to start a new one).
anyone else have thoughts about this 'issue'?

if we have one train, that could work. otherwise, making everyone keep track of who uses what brands and therefore which coupons to include in which train wouldn't be fair, IMHO. since only 7 (8 including me) have told me what brands they need/use, we can have just one train. however, if everyone responds there are 13 riders.

I am not looking to join a pet train but I have 2 booklets of coupons for Nutro pet food. One $20 booklet is for cats and the other for dogs.

I got them when I joined the Nutro frequent buyer program months ago when I had adopted a Himalayan kitten from a breeder who strictly fed her cats Nutro food. I had never used the food before.

Anyway, my kitten had to be put to sleep this past April. She was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus (water on the brain) and was sick.

I have since adopted two rescued kittens but feed them Premium Edge kitten food, which I feel is much better for them. Their coat is nicer, longer hair and much softer. When I got these two kitties they were eating Iams and their hair was shorter and duller. Since they've been eating the Premium Edge food they've turned into fluff balls. Their hair is much longer and very soft and silky. Shinier too.

I received the reverse train today. I took out the old list, printed out the new list only backwards as this is the reverse train. I made up the new list with the riders from the pet train in reverse. Put a list of rules on it and dated it for the 11th when we got the list that way we know that its new.

I am sending it to Breeze on Monday. There are some 8/30 coupons in there...but IM hoping someone can use them cause they are high value coupons for dog/cat stuff. If not, feel free to throw them on the next stop.

If anyone has any more coupons, I suggest trying to get another train started as right now there are technially only 3 moving that we know of. Post on here if you have enough to start a train!!!! THANKS!

I wonder if we should combine some of those trains -- unless they're all pretty full & actually contain coupons people are able to use. I haven't seen a train in who knows how long, so I have no idea how the contents of the trains are...

Ive not seen one in a while looks like breeze mailed one my way a few days ago so maybe it will be here soon.

I fixed it...one of the trains I had that darla was sending out was actually one that I had sent to Ashleyhelander a while ago....she never posted that she received it and resent it out to Darla. So that solves that mystery.

Veronica, I just mailed you a new envelope yesterday (might have been day before yesterday). It's pretty thick. My printer ran out of ink when I was trying to print the rider list, so there's no list in there. There's possibly enough in there to split it into two new trains, possibly 3. It's been so long since I've seen a pet train, I forgot how many are usually in there.
