Researchers in the Psychology Department at Temple University are looking to enroll healthy English-speaking 4-year-old children for a research study that examines how young children come to understand the actions of other people. Dr. Peter Marshall and his lab team are carrying out this research study, which is funded by the National Science Foundation.

Do you have a child who turned 4 years old within the last month or who will turn 4 years old in February, March, or April? We are looking for 4-year-olds to participate in a one-time, two-hour session at our research lab at Temple. To be eligible, your child must participate within 1 month of his/her 4th birthday.

During the visit to the laboratory, your child would do a number of different things. They would watch a brief video of human actions and movements while we observe their behavior - we also use a special cap to record children's brain waves while they watch this video. Your child would also play some games with a researcher to examine how young children copy the actions of other people. Additionally, a short vocabulary test would be administered to your child. The session lasts approximately 2 hours. In return for participation, you will receive $35 cash and an age-appropriate toy for your child. Free parking will be provided.

If you are interested in having your child participate, please call Lauren at 215-204-2436 or email us at devlab@<hidden>.
