Currently seeking a degree in Bio Info at the university of utah and I was just thinking that I work, and am planning on working for some time, a company that pays for half of my schools tuition, if or when I move up to its lab department they will pay all. So I was thinking with low interest rates would it be a wise choice to get a school loan? I've heard of others taking money out and using it to make more, making their own lives a bit easier and overall a good thing. I need some insight on this and i'm wondering if anybody here might have gone through the expirience yourself or know of a good way to go about it. Maybe there are some online banks that would give better rates or what not.

Thanks in advance, you guys are always very helpful,
Saruji.

If it's for your education, I would recommend a student loan. Talk to your school's financial aid department as they are the experts in that field.

Local and online banks will probably offer you an unsecured loan or line of credit which has a higher interest rate.

ask if the dept has research or teaching assistantships. not only it will lower your tuition substantially (sometimes, even free), you might get paid as well with stipend (even not big, but enough for students, beside, you got gottadeal.com :). with those experience, you should have less problems of getting a job in the field.

Student loans rates are one of the lowest out there I believe. I'm locked in at 3.5% or something like that. The rate drops 1% after 48 consecutive payments which will be in 9 months.
